December 22, 1928COUNTY PIONEER IS DEAD AT BANCROFT
Funeral services will be held from the Godfrey funeral parlors here at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Lydia J. Hunt, who died at her home here last night at 7:30 at the age of 76 years. Burial will be made in Newburg cemetery.
Mrs. Hunt died of infirmities arising from a complication of causes. She had been in very poor health for the last year.
Mrs. Hunt was born in Sullivan county, New York state, May 15, 1852, the daughter of Mr. and Mr. Henry Casler. She came to Shiawassee county with her parents at the age of 12 years. She was married to William Hunt in 1867. Mr. Hunt died about 12 years ago.
Mrs. Hunt was a member of the Corunnna Avenue Methodist Episcopal church, having joined at the time she lived in Owosso a few years preceding the death of Mr. Hunt.
Surviving are four sons, Gilbert Hunt, of Owosso; Charles Hunt, of Newburg; William Hunt, of Lansing; and Henry W. Hunt, at home; and one daughter, Mrs. A. E. McCartney, of Lansing. Eight grandchildren also survive.

Henry W. Hunt, 83, long time resident of Shiawassee county and surrounding areas, died Sunday morning at the Hazel Jones Nursing Home in Lansing.
He was born near Bancroft, the son of William and Lydia Hunt, July 28, 1868. He never married and leaves no survivors.

May 4, 1951Serviced will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Scarletts Funeral Home for Joseph Gilbert Hunt, 81, 401 Maple avenue, for 26 years an employee of the Ann Arbor Railroad, who died Thursday afternoon at Memorial Hospital after a three year illness.
Mr. Hunt was born in Shiawassee County Feb. 26, 1870. He resided in the county all of his life. He was married to Live M. Lyons, July 25, 1908 in Owosso.
Survivng are the widow; two brothers, William and Henry, both of Lansing; three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Ruse, Lennon; Mrs. Wilma Weatherwax, at home; and Mrs. John Norcross, East Lansing; a son, William, at home; and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Olive M. Hunt of 401 Maple Ave. died Saturday afternoon at Pleasant View Hospital of a heart attack. She had been ill for several years, She was 79.
Mrs. Hunt was born Jan. 23, 1884 in Genesee County, the daughter of Richard and Sarah (Parsell) Lyons. She married Gilbert Hunt in Bancroft, July 25, 1908.
Aurvivors include: three daughters - Mrs. Elmer (Lydia) Ruess of Vernon, Mrs. Wilma Weatherwax of Owosso and Mrs. Bulene Norcross of Lansing; one son, William at home; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Carie Toomey of Muskegon.

May 7, 1941Mrs. Ruth E. McCartney, 61, widow of the late Augustus E. McCartney, who died in 1927, died Wednesday morning at the residence, 1728 Maplewood avenue. Mrs. Mccartney had been a resident of Lansing for 21 years, coming here from Owosso, and was a member of the South Baptist church.
She is survived by Delta Ruth McCartney of Lansing; a son, LeRoy H. McCartney of Pontiac; three brothers, Henry W. and Willian J. Hunt of Lansing, and Gilbert J. Hunt of Owosso; and three grandchildren.

June 16, 1927Augustus E. McCartney passed form this life June --th 1927, at 6 o'clock a.m. Mr. Mccartney was ever a truly Christian gentleman, a member of M. E. Church, a loyal home companion, a true neighbor, ever friendly and helpfull.
He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, Ruth E. Mccartney, one son, LeRoy H., one daughter, Delta Ruth, Mark F. Holcomb, also his mother, Mrs. Emma J. McCartney of Owosso, one brother, Wm. H. McCartney, also of Owosso, two sisters, Mrs. W. B. Clingenpeel of Columbiaville and Mrs. T. B. Conley of Grand Lodge, also a host of friends.

August 26, 1951William J. Hunt died at the home, 4305 Griswold St, Saturday morning. He was born Aug. 1, 1883, at Bancroft, and had lived in Lansing for 20 years. He drove cars overland for Howard Sober drive-away.
Survivors are the widow, Pearl M. Hunt; two sons, Charles Hunt of Grand Rapids and Howard Hunt of Lansing; a step-daughter, Mrs. Nona Phillips of Lansing, and a brother, Harry Hunt of Lansing.
