December 22, 1950Mrs. Eliza Hooper (Giles) Stimson, 91, wife of Joseph P. Stimson of 1296 Allen St., died at her home Saturday. She was born in Marblehead, the daughter of Samuel and Lydia (Graves) Giles and had lived in Springfield for the past 53 years.
Mrs. Stimson was a member of the Church of the Unity and of the Women's Alliance of the church.
Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Joseph P. Stimson, S. Lester Stimson and John R. Stimson, all of Springfield; a daughter, Mrs. Eva Sabin of Springfield, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

February 22, 1954Joseph P. Stimson, Dies at Age 89
Joseph Proctor Stimson, 89, of 1859 Allen St. died at the Springfield Hospital Sunday morning. He was born in New Lenox, the son of Joseph P. and Martha (Goodell) Stimson and had lived in Springfield for the past 62 years. He was a retire steamfitter. Mr. Stimson was a member of the Church of the Unity.
He leaves three sons, Joseph P. Stimson, Jr. and John R. Stimson, both of Springfield and S. Lester Stimson of Ocala, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Carl A. Sabin of Springfield; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
