July 28, 1921"Mrs. Waite Passes To Great Beyond
Lillian Annah Griswold was born May 27, 1854, in Utica, New York. She moved with her parents to Shopiere, Wisconsin in 1866, where she was married to Mr. Millard Fillmore Waite, on November 24, 1880. In 1893 she moved to Kent, Wash., where she resided until her death, July 25, 1921.
Mrs. Waite leaves to mourn her loss, the husband, Millard Fillmore Waite, of Kent, a son, Russell B. Waite, of Tacoma, and a daughter, Miss Eugenia E. Waite, a popular and gifted teacher in the Kent Public schools; also a sister, Mrs. Fannie Christman, of Clinton, Wisconsin.
Mrs. Waite was a faithful and honored member of the First Methodist church, Kent, and the funeral services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Spencer B. Sulliger, D. D. The music was in charge of the church organist, Mr. Bertram A. Look, and a special quartette from the church choir, Miss Myrtle Madsen, Mrs. Beth Merideth, Mr. Will Boundy and Mr. W. H. Swafford, sang three selections. Dr. Sulliger took for his text, "Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection." - Luke. 20:36.
