January 31, 1935Mrs. Adelaide H. Fields, widow of Theodore H. Fields, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, in Portland. Mrs. Fields was a native of Deer Isle, but had spent most of her life in Massachusetts. She was spending the winter in Portland, as had been her custom for the past fifteen years. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Besse of Sawmpscott, Mass., and a sister, Mrs. Julia Lufkin [sister is in error].

December 12, 1998Gladys L. Haskell, 97, of Madison Street died Friday at the Newton Center in Sanford.
She was born in North Berwick, a daughter of Melvin and Ellen Fletcher Littlefield.
Mrs. Haskell worked as a mender for many years at the North Berwick Woolen Mill and Baxter's Woolen Mill in Rochester, N.H. She was a member of the Nokomis Council, the Daughters of Red Men, the Congregational Church of North Berwick, the Plus Ultra Class and the Bauneg Beg Grange here. She also enjoyed crocheting.
Her husband, Paul Haskell, died in 1983. Surviving are a niece and several nephews.
