September 16, 1936Mrs. Nellie S. Carter, 74, passed away Tuesday morning at her home, 78 Columbia street, after a brief illness.
Awell-known dressmaker, she had resided in Bangor for the past 15 years, previously in Brewer and was born in Corinth. She was well liked by a large number of friends and her passing is sincerly mourned.
Surviving are one son, Ralph H. Carter of Providence, R.I., and several cousins.

Yvonne M. (Bergeron) Carter 96 years. Wife of the late Hermon A. "Nick" Carter, Jr. Mother of Lawrence J. "Jack" Quinlan and his wife Doris of Brockton. Grandmother of Lawrence J. Quinlan, Jr. of Bridgewater, Linda Bassett of Raynham, Melanie Cassaro of E. Bridgewater and William Quinlan of Brockton. Great grandmother of Brian and Andrew Bassett, Gregory, Corey and Ashley Quinlan, Matthew Cassaro and the late Rachel Quinlan. Great great grandmother of Zachary Bassett.
OBITUARY
Mrs. Carter died Friday evening in the Brockton Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born in Manchester, NH a daughter of the late Antonio and Exina (Grenier) Bergeron and had been a resident of Brockton for over 80 years.
Mrs. Carter had been employed in local restaurants including the Alamo. Previously she had been employed by the George E. Keith Co. in Campello.
Her interests included flower gardening, caring for animals, trips to New Hampshire, cooking and making homemade jams and bread.She enjoyed music and playing the piano. When she was a member of the Olivet Memorial Church in Brockton she was the pianist.
She is survived by one son, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a great great grandson.Several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Simeon Bergeron, Leah Lawson, Wilfred and Lawrence Bergeron
