November 25, 1996Harold W. Thurston, 92, of Norway, died Saturday at the Market Square Health Care Center, where he had been a resident for the past year.
He was born in Norway, a son of Forest D. and Addie Titcomb Thurston.
He married Doris Davis in 1926. She died in 1995.
For most of his life, Mr. Thurston was a farmer in the Norway-South Paris area. He also worked as a substitute rural mail carrier and at C.B. Cummings after retiring from farming.
He was a 50-plus-year member of the IOOF Lodge of Norway, where he was a past grand master.
He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lillian Thurston and Mrs. Mabell Thurston, both of Norway.
Georgie Anna Haskell. According to information in a letter from her daughter Myra, Georgie Anna is the spelling she used for her given name throughout her life.

Soon after his marriage he moved to Washington D.C., where he was employed in the U.S. Pension Office and studied law at Howard College. After graduation he moved back to Beverly.

Ulysses Grant Haskell was a lawyer in Salem and Beverly, Massachusetts. He compiled and published in 1896 the first Haskell genealogy for the United States. He was president of the Beverly Trust Company 1914-1934. Their home was located at 59 Lothrop Street, Beverly, MA.
Eugene and Margaret (Haskell) Bruce had no children.
