July 15, 1956Herbert Merrill Forristall, 96, of 58 Montlair Dr. West Hartford, died Saturday morning at a local hospital after a long illness.
He was born Aug. 14, 1859 in Troy, N.H., and was an employee of the Boston and Maine Railroad for 60 years. He was a member of William Sutton Lodge, AF and AM, Saugus, Mass.; Olivet Commandery 36, KT, Lynn, Mass.; Aleppo Temple, AAONMS, Boston, Mass.; and the Society of the Sons of the American Revoltion.
He leaves his wife Lucretia Marshall Forristall; a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude J. Johnson of Arizona; a son Willard H. Forristall of West Hartford; and four grandchildren.
Lincoln M. Forristall was unmarried.
Abel Harkness French was a wheelwright.
After his marriage to Mary, Henry Shedd worked in the Lancaster Mills, a manufacturer of cotton textiles. Henry and Mary had three children.
