21189. Rev. John Haskell Shedd
John Haskell Shedd graduated from Marietta College in 1856. He then attended Andover Theological Seminary and was a missionary to Persia for eleven years. He was appointed professor in the Biddle Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina. John and Sarah had eight children.
James G. Shedd graduated from Western Reserve College in 1865 and was employed as a teacher in Illinois.
William Edgar Shedd was a hardware merchant. He served in the Ohio Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War, was taken prisoner by Confederate forces. He was held in Confederate prisons for nearly six months but was released and returned to service in the Union army until December 1865.
Charles Kendall Adams graduated from University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1861 and became professor of history there.
