Charles P. Holmes, 85, of 44 Park St., died Sunday at the Central Maine General Hospital. He entered the hospital Tuesday.

Born at New Gloucester, Aug. 15, 1987, he was the son of Andrew and Georgianna Preble Holmes. He served in town offices at New Gloucester.

Surviving are a niece, Mrs. Florence Houston, Methuen Mass.; a nephew, Arthur Blake, Boston; also several grandnieces and grandnephews.
