HOLDEN - Alice H. (Haskell) Sproule, 85, of 92 Jamieson Road, died yesterday in Holden Nursing Home after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 58 years, Guy C. Sproule Sr.; a son, Guy C. Sproule Jr. of Dana Point, Calif.; a daughter, June A. Sproule of Surry, Maine; and a nephew. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Fred W. and Alice E. (Vaughan) Haskell and lived here 48 years. She graduated from North High School and Becker Junior College, both in Worcester. Mrs. Sproule was a secretary for the Holden School Dept. for 12 years, retiring in 1974. Previously, she was a legal secretary in Worcester.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Holden and was active in its Community Service Circle. She was a longtime volunteer in the Corner Shop at the church. She was a member of the Wachusett Order of the Eastern Star.
