Mr. Haskell was an early settler in Ontario, which was founded 1857. He served with Company B, 50th Regiment of Wisconsin, during the Civil War. A 1913 photograph taken with other members of the local post of the Grand Army of the Republic showed him as a "white-haired patriarch with white, full-rounded beard and drooping mustache."

Lovina Allison

Lovina Allison, born September of 1844 in Crawford County Illinois, the daughter of Elder Richard Summerfield Allison (1798-1854) and Lavina Lemasters, married her step-brother Arthur Butler Haskell (1844-1926), the son of Silas Archer Haskell & his first wife, Sarah Graham, on the 28th of March 1864 in Monroe County, Wisconsin.

Art & Vina had eight children by the year 1900, six living. Those known at this time were Harold C. Haskell born in December of 1883, Arthur Allison Haskell b. September 1889, daughters Edna and Ruth, and son Joseph H.Haskell who died a child two years of age on the 9th of August 1874 and is buried at Viroqua Cemetery, Viroqua, Vernon County, Wisconsin.

Married Johanna "Hanna" Splettstosser, who was born in 1888 in Germany, the daughter of Carl Splettstosser and Ulricha Stieglman/Stegeman. Fred and Johanna were married 30 July 1913 in Cuyahoga Co. OH. Fred died a few months later.
