Benjamin Franklin Grady

US Congressman. Author. He was teaching mathematics and natural sciences at Austin College in Texas when the Civil War began. He left college to join the Confederate Army, serving in Company K, 25th Regiment of the Texas Cavalry. In 1891, he was elected for two terms as a United States Representative from North Carolina. In 1899, he published the book "The Case of the South Against the North," which uses historical evidence to justify the South's war against the North on the basis of constitutional principles.

Walter Haskell Found Dead in Ranch Home

Walter Herbert Haskell, 77, was found dead in his ranch home ten miles east of Choteau on the Dutton road Tuesday evening. Deceased had evidently passed away some time Monday. The body was found in a chair in his home by Art Johnson of Dutton, who was having car trouble and stopped for assistance. Death was due to natural causes.

Haskell was born Nov. 19, 1864, in Washington, S.C., and came to Teton county 33 years ago, homesteading on the place where death occurred. He had never married. The only known survivor is a sister, Mrs. M.H. Campbell of St. Paul, Minn., who visited her brother here two years ago.
