May 01, 1951Edward C. Hagen, husband of Mary H. (Pittsley) Hagen of 90 School Street, died Monday at his home after an illness of one years' duration.
He was born in County Schull [Schull is actually a town in County Cork], Ireland, the son of Augustine and Maria (Hegarty) Hagen. He came to this country at an early age and took up residence in Taunton 36 years ago, coming here from Fairhaven. He retired 11 years ago after 20 years employment with the Revere Copper and Brass Company as a teamster. He was educated in the New Bedford schools and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Chester H. Hagen of Mansfield; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Sullivan of New Bedford, Mrs. Esther Cobb of Fairhaven; three brothers, Frederick Hagen, Mobile, Alabama; John Hagen, New York City, and William Hagen of Fairhaven; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
