April 29, 1952Binghampton, Apr 28. (AP) - Dr. Charles R. Seymour, 82, Broome County's oldest practicing physician, died today.

March 20, 1967Leonardsville - Mrs. Grace L. Burdick, 87, died March 19, 1967, in a fire at her home.
Burial will be in Leonardsville cemetery at a later date.
She was born on Jan. 3, 1880, in the town of Plainfield, a daughter of Daniel and Ernestine (Talbot) Dye. She was married to Earl Burdick in Leonardsville. He died on Nov. 12, 1951.
She was a graduate of Leonardsville High School and with her husband operated a farm in the area for many years.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.

ObituaryLeonardsville Woman Dies in Sunday Fire. Mrs. Grace L. Burdick, 87 years old, was burned to death in her home in Leonardsville about 4:11 AM Sunday. Her clothes apparently caught fire as she was lighting a wood stove. Mrs. Burdick lived alone at the edge of the village and suffered from arthritis which made her unsteady on her feet. A witness. Sheldon Bundy, 48, of Leonardsville, told police he saw Mrs. Burdick stumble onto the back porch of her 1 1/2-story dwelling, her clothing ablaze. Police said she died on the porch, her clothing completely burned away. State Police Investigator K. M. Gunther and Trooper A. J. Liddle investigated. Mrs. Burdick was the widow of Earl Burdick. She was born in the Town of Plainfield, daughter of Daniel and Ernestine Talbot Dye. She graduated from Leonardsville High School and was married to Mr. Burdick in Leonardsville. He died in 1951. Mrs. Burdick had been a life resident of the Leonardsville area. She was a member of the Unadilla Forks Baptist Church. She leaves several nieces and nephews. The funeral was Wednesday from the Wilcox Funeral Home, West Winfield, with the Rev. Joseph F. Barber, pastor of the Unadilla Forks Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Leonardsville Cemetery."
