Stephen A. Blake of Clayton died at the Clark Hospital at McReagor Tuesday morning May 5. He been in critical condition for several years because of appendix trouble.

Deceased was born at Mazappa, Minnesota, on Nov. 1st. 1865, and was 59 years, 6 months and 7 days old at the time of his death.

He is survived by three sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Elmira Freeman of California; Mrs. Sarah Newcomb of Conned Bluffs; Mrs. Alice Murphy of Janesville, Wis.; and Will and Charley of of Clayton.

His parents, three sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

On Sunday, February 17, 1918, at Minneapolis, Minn, occurred the death of Edward Blake, a former resident of Clayton, Iowa, in the year 1884, and therefore was 34 years old at the time of his death.

He was never married.

His untimely death is mourned by three brothers, Steve, William and Charles Blake, of Clayton, four sisters, Mrs. Freeman, of California, Mrs. Alice Murphy, of Janesvulle, Wis., Mrs. Walter Goetz, of Belmond, Iowa, and Mrs. J. R. ewcomb of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and a large number of other relatives and friends.
