The death of Mr. Clark came at the age of 82 years 2 months 17 days. He was educated in the public schools of Canajoharie and later engaged in business with his father under the firm name of L. B. Clark and Son and they for many years did an extensive elevator and lumber business. Later Mr. Clark, who was an exceptionally fine musical student, took up the teaching of piano and also was the composer of several musical selections. The "Sharon Polka" was published in 1866. He also composed "The Starry Banner" which was well received and used quite extensively throughout WWI.
Mr. Clark was a member of the Methodist church for many years, serving as a musician in the various organizations of the church. Mr. Clark was intensely interested in the upkeep of Prospect Hill Cemetery, serving as a member of the Board of Trustees and contributing generously to the work of the association.
On November 11th, 1875, Mr. Clark wed Mary Van Evera, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Van Evera of Randall and on Monday, next, they would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.
Surviving are the widow and one sister, Mrs. Jacob L. Wohlgemuth of Canajoharie.
