Ina Wilson died Monday, November 6, 2006, a month after celebrating her 100th birthday with her friends and family.
Ina was born to Sadie and William Riley on September 25, 1906, in Fort Scott, Kansas, She attended Fort Scott High School and her church college in Findlay, Ohio.
She married George A. Wilson on July 2, 1928 in Clinton, Missouri. They lived all of her married life in Fort Scott and had two children, a son, Russell Lynn, and a daughter, Jeanette Elaine.
Ina loved to work. Her first job was picking strawberries when she was five years old. She and her husband George worked together at Standard Advertising and Printing Company for many years. Ina became an assistant to Dr. Ralph Strohm. After his death she became a practical nurse for Miss Julia Schlegle, working until she was 78.
Ina is survived by her son, Russ and his wife June of Des Moines, Iowa and their four children: Connie (Steve Rogers) of Des Moines, Iowa; Bruce (Donna Labagh) of Fairfiled, Iowa; Clarice (Arvind Auluck-Wilson) of Stillwater, Minnesota; and Kristin (Howard Montgomery) of Des Moines, Iowa; and by her daughter, Jeanette Brown, of Tuscon, Arizona and her two children, Cheryl Duncan and Clifford Brown of Kansas City, Missouri; five great grandchildren, Brandon and Lacie of Kansas City, Missouri; Madison, Chess and Max of Des Moines; Avalan of Ames, Iowa, Veronica of Fairfield, Iowa and Kevalin of Stillwater, Minnesota; and two great, great grandchildren, Chance, Wyatt and Aubrey of Kansas City, Missouri.
Music was a very important part of Ina/s life. She sang frequently in her home church and was the alto voice in a quartet that sang at many funerals. She saw to it that her children has music lessons and a piano in her home.
Ina belonged to the Winebrenner Church of God on Fort Scott for over 60 years, volunteering in many areas and always faithful in attendance. After selling her home in Fort Scott where she had lived for 50 five years, she moved to Prairie Estates in Grandview, Missouri where she had many friends and attended the Baptist church. Later, while living with her son in Des Moines, she attended Olivet Baptist Church and her friends from that congregation have been a faithful source of friendship and comfort to her in these final years of her life. She also received love and comfort from many of her friends at Trinity Center, where she has lived for three years.
Ina was a hard worker, assisting her mother, who was a seamstress. She learned the sewing basics that brought her pleasure in her adult life, creating clothes for her family, and many, many quilts and linens. Her hands were seldom idle even in her 90th year. It gave her great pleasure to be able to share the things she made with her friends and her family. She had a huge heart and we will miss her greatly

Joseph Franklin Smart passed away Monday, October 13, 1997, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus at the age of 84.
Frank was born November 7, 1912, in Binger, Oklahoma to Joe and Ruby (Wilson) Smart. He had been a resident of Altus and Jackson County since 1954.
Frank married Myrna Wylna Burba April 8, 1939, in Frederick, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death July 22, 1993. He married Dorris Moore February 16, 1994, in Altus.
Frank served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a long-time businessman in Altus. He owned and operated Smart Oldsmobile from 1965 until he retired in 1988. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Altus. He was a member of the Elks, Kiwanis, and Chamber of Commerce in Altus.
Frank is survived by his wife, Dorris, of the home in Altus; a daughter and son-in-law, Myrna and Billl Ruffner of Altus; one brother, Edwin B. Smart of Midwest City; one sister, Leota Johnson of Visalia, California; one grandson, Casey William Ruffner pf Oklahoma City, and a sister-in-law, Sybel Smart, of Hanford, California.

Dorris (Roberson) Smart, 84 of Wichita Falls, and formerly of Altus, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, in Wichita Falls.
Dorris was born on June 7, 1921, in Duke, Okla., to Henry and Theresa (Bassel) Moore. She married Esco Roberson on Aug. 23, 1940, and they spent 44 wonderful years together before his death in 1985. She later married Frank Smart in 1994, and he preceded her in death in 1997.
For many years, Dorris and Esco operated the Texhoma Agricultural Supply in Altus, where she was the bookkeeper. China painting, playing golf and an occasional card game at the local country club were some of her favorite pastimes. A long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Altus, Dorris moved to Wichita Falls in July 2004 to be closer to her family, whom she loved dearly.
Dorris was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and a sister, Billie Joyce Puckett in 1955. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Brenda (Roberson) Milligan and husband Eddie of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Steven Milligan of Bowie, Becky Crowe and husband David of Wichita Falls and Randy Milligan of Holliday; and one great-grandchild, Carsen Crowe of Wichita Falls.

Funeral services for Edwin "Brownlee" Smart, 84 year-old Midwest City, Oklahoma resident, will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2008,2 PM in "The Chapel" of Lockstone Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Fredrick officiating. Burial will follow in High Point Cemetery, north of Colony, Oklahoma, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.
Brownlee was born on July 20, 1923 in Hinton, Oklahoma to Joe and Ruby (Wilson) Smart and passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at his home in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Brownlee was raised on a farm between Hinton and Lookeba. They later moved to the Colony area where he graduated from high school in 1941. Upon graduation, Brownlee enlisted in the US Army serving during WWII in Pacific Theatre. On July 19, 1943, he married Rachel Faye Pulis in Wheeler, Texas. Brownlee served in the Air Force from 1954 until 1967 when he retired. He later worked for the US Postal Service for 20 years. Brownlee enjoyed traveling, baseball, basketball, doing yard work, and was very much a family man.
Brownlee is survived by his wife, Faye Smart of their home in Midwest City, Oklahoma; two sons, Steve Smart of Midwest City, Oklahoma and Greg Smart and wife, Pat of Chickasha, Oklahoma; and one granddaughter, Natalie. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frank and George Smart; two sisters, Leota and Lois; one son, Larry Smart; and one granddaughter, Jennifer.
