MONUMENT BEACH - Henry Nathan Murphy, 88, died Wednesday at Falmouth Hospital. He was the husband Of the late Dorothy L. Murphy.

Mr. Murphy was born In Roxbury and graduated from Mechanic Arts High School. He also graduated from NEI Boston In 1938 as a registered funeral director and embalmer. He was a longtime funeral director and embalmer at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, Bourne, and a town Of Bourne health agent for more than 10 years In the early 1970s. In addition, he was In charge Of medical supplies and served as medical inspector at Otis Air Force Base for 28 years. Very active In Bourne Methodist Church, he was a Sunday school teacher and director. He was also a Shriner and a Mason with Sandwich's DeWitt Clinton Lodge AF&AM for 50 years, serving as its treasurer for many terms and receiving the Warren Award. A former Little League coach In Monument Beach, he enjoyed Cape Cod League baseball.

Survivors include two sons, Bruce Murphy Of Marstons Mills and Robert H. Murphy Of Hanson; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
