Yarmouth - Murray Ashton Murphy, 89, of Yarmouth died Tuesday at the Halifax infirmary.
Born in Brooklyn, Yarmouth County, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Pitman) Murphy.
He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the First World War. He was a past noble grand of Oddfellows Lodge # 45, Yarmouth, and a member of Encampment.
He is survived by the former Olive Cann, a daighter, Mary (Mrs. Robert Gates), Kemptville; four sons, John, Ottawa, Gerald, Capreol Ont.; Murray, Truro; David, Bracebridge, Ont,; a brother, Cecil, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Wyman, New Hampshire; Lena Corning, Bridgewater; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by several sisters and brothers.

March 8, 1997MURPHY, HELEN N., 98, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (March 6, 1997) at Bon Secours-Maria Manor. Born in Randolph, Mass., she came here in 1965 from Peabody, Mass., where she was a former employee of Danvers Bleachery, a sheet factory. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was an American Red Cross hospital volunteer during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Chester ""Chet,'' St. Petersburg, and George, Danvers, Mass.; a sister, Doris Currier, South Hamilton, Mass.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

January 31, 1995Christine M. (McAloon) Driscoll, 83, formerly of Main Street, died in a Springfield nursing home. Born in Charlestown, she attended Boston schools. She was a retired clerk at the former Ruggles Lumber Co. in Springfield, and worked previously for Omartian Rug Co. in Springfield.
She leaves a son, Daniel J. Jr. of Woodbridge; a daughter, Diane Driscoll of Marblehead; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Daniel M. Keyes of Springfield, and four grandchildren.
Her husband, Daniel J., died in 1978.
