78644. Margaret Bertram Whitney

News Tribune (Tacoma)
April 13, 2016

On March 20, 2016, Margaret B. Niesen passed in the early morning at the age of 96. Margaret was born on December 13, 1919 to Charles Leon Whitney and Hazel Waite.

Margaret was a lifelong Tacoma resident, and graduate of Lincoln High School.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Billy Carter Niesen, and her son Gregory Carter Niesen.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Margaret Witte, grandson Richard Dean Witte, granddaughter Marcey Jean Niesen, and her great-granddaughters Ashley Mikaela Witte and Tara Mariko Witte.

Margie loved both the fine arts and crafting her own art items, which were proudly displayed throughout our homes. She was a prolific producer of art in many forms: painting, ceramics, flower arrangement, and crochet. Observing birds and wildlife, whether "in town" or at "the beach," always brought her joy. Furthermore, she was an active golfer and one of the dancers of the Daughters of the Nile. Margaret never left the house without looking like a "million bucks" and carried herself with an air of aristocracy even if that entailed wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. Margaret will be deeply missed by all of those who knew her.
