Marblehead - Mrs. Lydia F. (Kendrick) Sanborn, 74, of 35 Powder House Court, for many years active in the Women's Auxiliary of the Spanish War Veteran's Post and Veterans of Foreign War Post 2005, died Monday at Mary Alley Hospital.
Nesides her husband, Vernon, commander of the Spanish War Veteran's Post, she leaves two sons, Roy of Marblehead, and Clarence of Chula Vista, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Barbara Williams, Mrs. Caroline Ayott, Mrs. Charlotte Woods, Mrs. Frances Hutchison, all of Marblehead, and Mrs, Irene Gimble, Beverly; and one brother. William Kendrick, Lynn.

September 5, 2005Clarence Langley "Sandy" Sanborn of Eugene died Sept. 3 of age-related causes. He was 91.
Sanborn was born Jan. 18, 1914, in Swampscott, Mass., to Vernon and Lydia Kendrick Sanborn. He married Mabel Dixey in Marblehead, Mass., on Aug. 28, 1936. She died March 17, 2003.
He graduated from Marblehead High School and attended San Diego State University. He worked in construction and as a building inspector for the federal government. He operated Sandy's Safari, a summer camp for boys, and was a longtime volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America. He lived in Iceland for five years, as well as Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and the California cities of Chula Vista, Port Hueneme and San Clemente. His interests included boating, fishing and dancing.
Survivors include a daughter, Jayne Carey of Eugene; a son, Wayne of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Frances Kosensenski of Salem, Mass., and Irene Gamble of Beverly, Mass.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

March 8, 2010]GREENFIELD -- Leona C. (Dufresne) Dane, 95, of 88 Fairview St., died Saturday (3-6-10) at the Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility. She was born in Ashfield on July 9, 1914, the daughter of Arthur and Rose (Ferron) Dufresne.
She attended local schools in Hawley and had been a resident of Greenfield for many years. Leona was employed at the former Kendall Mills in Colrain. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, scrapbooks and flower gardens.
Leona was pre-deceased by her husband, George H. Dane, in 1989. Also, she was predeceased by a brother, Edward Dufresne and her sisters Merilda VanCor and Rita Devine.
Survivors include two sons, two brothers, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Marjorie "Dee-Dee" M. (Eveleth) Goss, 81, of Swampscott, died Thursday in a local nursing home. She was the wife of the late Richard Goss.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Myrtle (Iverson) Eveleth.
Mrs. Goss was a cook with the the Crestview Manor Nursing Home, Lynn, for 18 years, retiring many years ago. SShe enjoyed bowling and playing bridge, and was a member of the former Church of the Redeemer, United Methodist, Swampscott.
She leaves a daughter, Carol Barnes of Swampscott; a sister Helen Doucette of Danvers; a brother, Fred Eveleth of Kingston, N.H.; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
