STARKE - Nealy C. "Mac" McConnell of Starke died Monday at Shands at AGH. He was 70.

Mr. McConnell was a retired field supervisor for ITT Rayonier in Starke. He also served in the U.S. Army.

He was born in St. Cloud, Minn., was in the first graduating class from the Forestry School in Lake City, and moved to Starke 47 years ago.

Mr. McConnell was a member of the Elks Lodge 1802 and the First United Methodist Church in Lake City.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Woods McConnell of Starke; a daughter, Judy Jones of Starke; three sons, John B. "Johnny" Lee, James L. "Jimmy" Lee and Curtis Gerald "Jerry" Lee, all of Starke; his mother, Erie McConnell of Ocala; a sister, Mary Dosscq of Ocala; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

GASTON--Mary Frances Morrical, 73, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 7:40 a.m. in her home.

Mary was born in Crestview, FL on April 16, 1939 and grew up in Pensacola, FL, where she met her husband of 55 years, Leroy Eugene (Gene) Morrical while he was in the United States Air Force.

She is survived by her husband; daughters, Debra Diane Curts (husband-Myron), and Lori Ann Greenlee (husband-Gary); three grandchildren, Courtney Leigh Pflugner (husband-Troy), Gary Michael Greenlee (companion-Jamie Smith), and Kathryn Nicole Hiatt (husband-Sam); three great-grandsons, Michael Saint Greenlee, Gabriel Aiden Greenlee, and Carter Christian Pflugner; three brothers and one sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felton W. and Dethaline McCurley and one brother, Edward.


Warren H. Mailman

GREENE �  Warren H. Mailman, 86, a resident of South Hatch Hill Road, Greene, died July 1, at his home.

He was born March 29, 1921, in Danforth, the son of William and Myrtle Miller Mailman. He attended school in Danforth. In December 1942, he entered the U.S. Army serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II, where he received two Purple Hearts.

He had been married to Wilma May Francis and Myrtle Daly Strout. On Nov. 11, 1992, in Greene, he married Jessie Chaplin Garrow. He worked as a mechanic at Puritan Chevrolet, Louis Chevrolet and Davis Cadillac, retiring in 1983; he also worked as a self-employed mechanic in Greene. He also was the projectionist and stage technician at Sawyer Memorial in Greene for 36 years.

He loved traveling in his RV, and went to Alaska twice; he was an avid hunter and considered an excellent marksman. He was a volunteer at Sawyer Memorial in Greene, a member of Monmouth Masonic Lodge, Winthrop Blue Lodge, Winthrop Royal Arch Chapter, Kora Temple Shrine Club, having been a member of the Shrine Club since April 2, 1971, Androscoggin County Shrine Club and the Chanter Club.

He was one of the founding members of the Greene Men's Club.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie of Greene; a son, Rodney Mailman, and his wife, Lou Ann, of Wichita, Kan.; stepchildren, Wendell Strout Sr. of Scarborough, Joan Emmons, and her husband, Eddie, of Fayetteville, N.Y., and Barbara Reidy, and her husband, George, of Canastota, N.Y.; two brothers, William Mailman, and his wife, Phyllis, of Danforth and Dellie Mailman, and his wife, Georgia, of Houlton; three sisters, Irene Campbell of Waterville, Hazel Andri of New Jersey and Ethel Ennis of Portland; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nine stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by eight brothers.

CYR. Lawrence Cyr, 82, of Diane Drive, Vernon, husband of Oriana (Philippon) Cyr, died Monday (May 20, 1996) at home. He was born in Waterville, ME and had lived in Vernon for 40 years.

Mr. Cyr was a member of Carpenter Union Local 43 of Hartford, and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter, Sylvia Rittlinger of Windsor Locks; his sons Craig Cyr of Hebron, J. Kent Cyr of Milford, MA; his grandchildren Joey Rittlinger, Susan Kondzior, Craig C . Cyr, Kristen Cyr, Amber Cyr, Julie Cyr; a great-grandchild Michael Kondzior; a brother Tancrede Cyr of France; a sister Eleanor Griffin of Maine.

Oreana (Philippon) Cyr, 88, of Vernon, widow of Lawrence Cyr, died Sunday, (May 27, 2001) at Kettle Brook Care Center, East Windsor. She was born April 9, 1913, in Lac Megantic, Canada, the daughter of the late Joseph and Odila (Nadeau) Philippon.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Vernon.

She is survived by two sons, Craig Cyr of Hebron, J. Kent Cyr of Milford, MA; a daughter, Sylvia Rittlinger of Windsor Locks; a brother, Fernand Philippon of Newington; three sisters, Elenora Renolds of California, Mariette Kennedy of Suffield, Pierrette Bryant of East Hartford; six grandchildren, Joey Rittlinger, Susan Kondzior, Craig C. Cyr, Kristen Cyr, Amber Cyr, Julie Cyr; a great grandson, Michael Kondzior; several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Rockville.


Bertrand Joseph Grondin

ONTARIO, Calif. �  Bertrand J. Grondin, 92, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at Providence Ontario Nursing Home where he resided the past several years due to failing health and dementia.

He was born June 16, 1926 in Livermore Falls, the eight child of Joseph and Florida (Chouinard) Grondin. On May 31, 1945 he married Dorothy L. Fish in Lewiston, Maine. They were married 23 yrs.

He was a handsewer at Bass Shoe until 1953 when he moved to Middleboro, Mass., where he raised his family and continued working in the shoe industry. In 1968 they divorced and Bert moved to California where he met and married Juanita (Irene) Evans. They were married for 15 years. After he retired, Bert returned to Maine during the summers and resided at Powderhorn Campground at Old Orchard Beach for about 10 years before his health started failing. There he met many friends and worked as a handyman for the campground. His whole life he was a hard worker and always stayed busy.

He is survived by two daughters, Nancy J. Fickett of Buckfield and Brenda E. Biggart of Long Beach, Calif.; 11 grandchildren: Lori (Rob) Simoglou, Bonnie Richard, Kyle (Pam) Butler, Andrew Butler, Jeanette Rendenza, Elizabeth North, Angela (John) Harris, Brian (Pam) Grondin, Michael Grondin, Tracy (Don) Brassard, and Angela Hamlin; 13 great-grandchildren: Lyric, Trent, Lucas, Ashley, Parker, Corbin, Katie, Nick, Nicole, B J, Lexi, Alana, and Lilyanna; seven great-great-grandchildren: Joselyn, Daniel, Kamdyn, Kolten, Brylee, Mia, and Liam; and five stepchildren: Vicky, Rhonda, Brenda,William, and Lynn.

He was predeceased by two sons: Joey and Arthur Grondin; his daughter-in-law, Beverly; four brothers: Armand, Andrew, Roland, and Antonio; three sisters: Rose A. Grondin, Rose Sirous, and Claudia Chretien.

Harold Goetschius, age 79 of Laurel, passed away at the Delaware Hospice Center on May 31, 2011. Harold was born in Lyndhurst, NJ and resided in Laurel for over 40 years.

He is pre-deceased by his wife, Suzu Goetschius, his parent John and Jennie, two sisters Hazel and Irene, four brothers Ellwood, Edward, Melville and Norman and is survived by two sisters, Anita Alfano of East Rutherford, NJ and Shirley Edwards of Newark, NJ. Uncle to Linda Laquaglia and husband Joseph of Suffern, NY, Leonard Edwards and wife Antonio and great niece Vanessa Edwards of Dayton NJ, Diane Gingerelli of Lyndhurst, NJ, Jennifer Santander and husband Jean-Paul of Millsboro, DE and Micheal Gingerelli and Thomas Alfano both deceased.

He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1949 to 1964 where he was wounded in the Korean Conflict and received the purple heart. After serving in the Army, he re-enlisted in the US Air Force where he continued to serve his country from 1965-1971. Harold worked for the US Postal Service in Laurel, DE for 21 years until he retired in 1991. He was a member for many years at the American Legion Post #19 of Laurel.

Edwin C. Haskell, of Bellows Lane, Totowa, formerly of Lyndhurst, died seddenly Thursday afternoon while at work in Seacaucus. Born in Newark and a Lyndhurst resident for many years before moving to Towaco 21 years ago.

Mr. Haskwll attended St. Paul's Polish National Catholic Church, Newark. He was a Delaware and Lackawanna Railroad fireman for 34 years. He died in the railroad's roundhouse in Seacaucas.

Born in Elizabeth, Mrs. Haskell lived in Linden since 1955.
She was a member of the 5th Ward Senior Citizens Club.

Predeceased by her husband, Edwin Haskell, and six brothers, Angelo, Victor, John, Thomas, Patrick and Dominick Mollozzi, she is survived by her devoted daughter, Elizabeth J. Vivona and her husband, Joseph, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J.; granddaughter, Lisa Theuret and her husband, Dean, and two great-grandchildren, Alexis Ann and Austin.
