March 12, 1959Funeral services were held at Parker Funeral Home Tuesday for Guy L. Twombly, life time resident of Waldport. Burial was in Eureka cemetery, Newport.
Mr. Twombly was born in Bay View on September 7, 1893 and passed away at the Good Samaritan hospital in Corvallis Saturday. He was a member of the VFW, and the American Legion, having served in the army during World War I.
Survivors include his widow, Meta; four brothers, Ben of Waldport, Roy of Baker, Dexter of Jewel and John of Denmark; and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Hallowell, Waldport.

October 21, 2000A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, in Fern Ridge Cemetery near Waldport for Jennie Elice Hallowell, who died Oct. 8 at age 97.
Mrs. Hallowell was born Jan. 19, 1903, in Bayview. Her maiden name was Twombly. A homemaker, she also was a cook for the U.S. Forest Service on Mount Hood for the Bear Springs Ranger Station and in Elk City, Idaho, before her retirement in 1960. She moved to Beaverton in 1984. In 1923, she married Edward Adam Hallowell; he died in 1990.
Survivors include her daughters, Lillian Schiendelman and Edna Jean Penson; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Her son, Bill Cooper, died in the early 1970s.
