Sunday, 18 March 2013Marilyn Ann Leighton, 78, a retired registered nurse, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2013. She was born December 10, 1934 to Carl and Violet Arthur in Tacoma Washington.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Leighton and her parents. She is survived by her brother Gary Arthur and his wife Kathe of Yuma Arizona; her children, Michael Ninen of Las Vegas Nevada, Andrew Ninen of Portland Oregon, and Ann Smith of Tenino Washington and their spouses; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

July 4, 2005SUMMERFIELD - Hazel Jane Chipman, 99, former owner of a rooming house in Summerville, Mass., died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at Lady Lake Specialty Care.
A native of Milbridge, Maine, she moved here from Sunrise in 1997.
She was a former third grade teacher and a lifetime member of the Order the Eastern Star. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Belleview.
Survivors include her daughters-in-law and caregivers, M. Carol Chipman, Summerfield, and Margaret A. Chipman, Lake Placid; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Chipman was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Chipman Sr., and by her sons, Ralph Chipman Jr. and Elmer B. Chipman.

February 15, 2011Clifford Carlton Norse, 84, of Radford, Va., died on Sunday, February 13, 2011.
He served in the Army during World War II and in the Air Force during the Korean War retiring as a Major in the United States Air Force Reserve. He also taught history for Florida State University and Radford University.
He is survived by his daughter, Julia Norse, of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; a son, Bradford Norse, of Burke, Va.; and a brother, Robert Norse, of West Covina, Calif.

April 3, 2006GREENVILLE - Funeral services for Ada Lee Oglesby Norse, 73, of Greenville will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glen Allan United Methodist Church, Glen Allan. She died March 31, 2006, at Mississippi Care Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery, Glen Allan, under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Norse was born in Chatham, Miss., where she graduated Glen Allan High School; she then graduated the University of Mississippi with a bachelor of arts degree in music. She became a field secretary for Delta Gamma Fraternity in Columbus, Ohio. She later became a buyer for Lazarus department store, then secretary for F.E. Hall and Associates in Greenville, Miss., before moving to Valdosta, Ga., where she became the assistant director of Service Club at Moody Air Force Base. She made her home in Radford, Va., most of her adult life, returning to Greenville in the early 1990s due to ill health. Besides her family, playing bridge was her passion. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenville, Miss.
She is survived by a daughter, Julia Norse of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, a son, Brad Norse of Burke, Va., and their father, Dr. Cliford C. Norse of Christianburg, Va.; and two brothers, Joe Oglesby Jr. of Indianola, Miss., and John W. Oglesby of Chatham, Miss.

May 1, 1996Marion H. (Haskell) Priest, 84, of Winthrop Terrace died Tuesday in a Wilbraham nursing home.
Born in Portland, Maine, she spent many years in Gilbertville, Hardwick, before retiring to Destin, Fla., where she lived for 12 years. She moved here in 1985.
Her husband, Carl E. Priest, died in 1985. She leaves a son, Carl E. Jr. of North Fort Myers, Fla.; three daughters, Jacqueline Baldyga of West Warren, Dorothy Potter of North Fort Myers, and Sandra L. Pannozzo of Danbury, Conn.; 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

April 4, 1991GEORGE H. HASKELL, 65, of St. Petersburg died Monday at Humana Hospital St. Petersburg. A native of Fall River, Mass., he moved to the area in 1952 from Hancock, N.H. He was an electrical engineer in building construction and a member of the Army Navy Garrison in St. Petersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille A.; two sons, George D. of Jaffrey, N.H., and Herbert K. of Ridge, N.H.; and two daughters, Dorothy Ann Stewart of Sharron, N.H., and Theresa DesRosiers of Jaffrey.

April 28, 2001JAFFREY Helen G. Steele, 75, of Peterborough Street, died April 26, 2001, at Harborside Healthcare-Pheasantwood in Peterborough after a long illness. She was born on October 27, 1925, in Kemptville, Nova Scotia, the daughter of William and Nellie (Roberts) Pitt. She attended schools in Canada.
Mrs. Steele had worked as a nurse's aide for many years at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough. Later she had worked at Elecropac Corp/ in Peterborough and then at Millipore Corp. in Jaffrey until her retirement after 15 years.
Mrs. Steele was the widow of George H. Haskell and Ralph Steele. Family members include a daughter, Theresa Desrosiers of Jaffrey; two sons, Douglas Haskell of Jaffrey and Herbert Haskell of Greenfield; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Carly of Oxford, Mass.; a brother, David O'Neil of Jaffrey. She was predeceased by a daughter Dorothy Stewart.
Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Rindge.
