He is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Las Vegas; and sons, Dennis of Honolulu and James of San Diego.

Carl W. Studlet, 70, of 320 Main Street, Brockton, since his retirement, and formerly of Rockland died in a Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. He was a coreectional officer at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Bridgewater, known as the State Farm when he worked there, retiring five years ago.

He was born in Rockland, the son of William H. Studley and Mary (Kimball) Stidley. He leaves a sister, Mrs. Rudolph (Helen) Meyer of Brocton and an aunt and several cousins in Maine.

SUN CITY -- Harold Francis Cushing, 93, died of congestive heart failure Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at his home.

Born Aug. 6, 1910, in Rockland, Mass., he lived in Sun City for 23 years. He was an electronic technician for Pratt and Whitney and Lockheed for 20 years. He served in the Navy during World War II as an engineering materials and equipment inspector for five years. He was a ham radio operator from 1932 to 2003 with the call letters W1EKS, WB6CQG and W6LXZ. He was a member of QCWA, the Sun City Camera Club and the Lapidary Club. He enjoyed gardening, photography and making clocks.

Mr. Cushing was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ardelle Carpenter Cushing; and his wife, Mary Louise Moore.

He is survived by his daughters Shirley Flint of Villanueva, N.M., Barbara Cushing of Santa Cruz and Nancy Jane Cushing of Portland, Ore.; and sons Richard Cushing of San Jose and Donald Cushing of Portland.


Walter Yourell

Walter Yourell, 88, a resident of Bowie for 44 years, died Nov. 25 at his home. Mr. Yourell was born March 17, 1920 in Rockland, Mass., where he attended Rockland High School.

Mr. Yourell was Chief Draftsman for Bethlehem Shipyards in Quincy, Mass. from 1946 to 1963 and Sr. Draftsman for the Maritime Administration of the U. S. Department of Commerce from 1963 to 1982. He was a Shipfitter, 1st Class with the U. S. Navy. Mr. Yourell was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Bowie and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Irene Yourell.

Survivors include his son David A. Yourell of Odenton; his daughter Jane F. Moore of Bowie; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Albert C. Sadek, 92, of 88 Notch Hill Road died Nov. 15. He was an Army veteran. He leaves a son, John A. Sadek of Madison; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
