Kenneth Irwin Delano of West Palm Beach, FL. passed away peacefully on August 26 at Columbia Hospital with his son at his side. Born in Oxford, ME,  December 18, 1923, son of Harry and Erna (Haskell) Delano. Graduated Oxford High School in 1941; married to the late Bessie (Swallow) Delano who died in 1993. Enlisted in the Army in 1946; honorably discharged from the 437th Fighter Squadron in 1949; served with the Norway National Guard, honorably discharged 1959.

He enjoyed painting, golf, and being a mason. Initiated February 17, 1953 in the Paris Lodge #94, South Paris, Maine. Received his fellow craft March 17, 1953; raised to master mason April 21, 1953. Transferred to Northwood Lodge #303, Florida June 7, 1990; was Jr. Steward January 1, 1996 and Chaplin January 1, 1997. Later the Northwood Lodge and the Palm Wood Lodge #303 consolidated on May 6, 2000. 50 year member on April 21, 2003; a perpetual member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry S.J. USA in the Valley of Lake Worth Orient of Florida; dual member of the Order of Eastern Star Palm Beach Chapter #41, West Palm Beach and Boynton Chapter #238 OES.

Survived by three sons, Kenneth Scott and (Mary-Ann), Staceyville, ME, Wayne (Sandra) East Andover, ME and Ricky, Nashua, N.H. Five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one brother. He was predeceased by one grandchild.

South Paris �  Malcolm (Mac) E. Delano, 79, of Oxford, died on Friday, April 11, passing away peacefully at Market Square Health Care Center in South Paris.

He was born in Oxford on Jan. 9, 1929, to Harry and Erna (Haskell) Delano. He worked hard most of his life often working two jobs. He had worked building log cabins by hand, hauling sand and gravel where trucks were filled by shovel, also worked as a carpenter, a part-time officer for the town of Oxford and for over 50 years at Robinson Manufacturing in Oxford in the finishing and maintenance departments. He was elected to the Oxford Board of Selectman for several terms in the 1960s. He was a 32nd degree mason belonging to Oxford Masonic Lodge AF and AM of Norway and Kora Temple of Auburn.

He enjoyed painting pictures and sharing, as well as giving his paintings to people for them to enjoy. He loved working around the house, in the garden and took great pride in his lawns. He loved playing golf, fishing, but one of his greatest enjoyments was watching sports of any kind and he was especially gratified that he got a chance to see the Red Sox win the World Series. The last few years he and his wife, with the help from daughter, Trudy, decorated the house and yard with many Christmas lights. He enjoyed the display.

He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 25 years, Joyce, of Oxford; sons, Gordon (Terry) Delano and his wife, Gloria, of Auburn, Craig and his wife, Diane, of Oxford; and daughter, Trudy Stevens of Otisfield; stepchildren, Michael Mills and his wife, Kyoko, of St. Peters, Mo., Diana Getchell and her husband, Buck, of Sabattus, Ken Mills and his wife, Nancy, of West Kennebunk, Pam Harder and her fiancé, Randy Hicks, of South Paris and Dale Mills of Mexico; five grandchildren, Laurie Delano, Terri Leger and husband, Lt. Jerry Leger (USN), Brian Stevens and his wife, Jennifer, Tony Stevens and his wife, Tracie, and Malcolm (Lil'Mac) Delano; seven stepgrandchildren, Yoko Guler, Mikey Mills, Chad Hopkins, Becky McKinney, Jason Mills, KJ and Lance Harder; nine great-grandchildren, Pfc. Justin Delano USMC, Rebecca Delano, Bryce and Leger, Carly, Brayden, Dawson and Hallie and Carson Stevens; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Adam and Sarah Guler and Austin and Tiger Hopkins.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Geraldine; his parents; and a brother, Kenneth.

Agatha V. Dyer

Agatha Dyer Harvey, 98, of Bucksport, ME, died in her sleep at home Monday (February 9, 2004).

She was the last surviving child of eight children born in Dexter, ME, to Fred Dyer and Harriet Lane Dyer on Sept. 23, 1905.

She graduated from N.H. Fay H.S. in 1924, where she was serving as class secretary. In 1926, after graduating from Gorham Normal School she took her first teaching job in Orrington. Later she moved to Bucksport and taught as a primary grade teacher at Luman Warren School. After she was married to John W. Harvey she became a substitute teacher and also tutored students well into her 70's. She was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church where she taught catechism classes, was a member of the alter society and sang in the church choir.

She is survived by daughter, Jane Meade and her husband, John of Mashpee, MA; son, Dr. Peter Jon Harvey and his wife, Cynthia of Bloomfield; a grand child, Lisa Marie Ford of Bucksport who has been her devoted care giver for over 12 years. Special friends, Keith Parker and Eloise Kinstler, both of Bucksport; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, John W. Harvey in 1985 and a first-born son, John Dyer Harvey who died shortly after birth in 1935.

Auburn, Me., Dec. 26 - Former City Clerk Mabel H. Bedell died here today at the age of 73,

A native of Boston, she was city clerk for 20 years until she retired 30 years ago.

Survivors include a son and two daughters.
