Llewellyn Gilmore Haskell, passed on August 21, 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born in Oakland, California. Attended college at the University of California at Berkley. Volunteered into the U.S. Army in May of 1918, and graduated from Stanford University after World War I. He had an engineering career with Standard Oil Company of California (now Chevron Corporation) for over 41 years, serving in California, West Texas, Alaska, Canada, and finally in Utah. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 2, F. and AM, 32nd Degree Mason in Scottish Rite with decoration KCCH. Also he was a member of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Salt Lake City.

He leaves a son in Sarasota, Florida; a daughter in San Antonio, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and many friends.

Elizabeth Reich Haskell died March 22, 1990.

She was born November 14, 1906, to Charles E. Reich and Fleeta Evans Reich in Beaver Falls, Penn., and married Glen W. Caler April 1937. He died in June 1968. She was married to Llewellyn G. Haskell December 1975, who survives her. Also survived by a daughter, Fleeta Jane Bodosi of Akron, Ohio.

Betty Haskell was a member of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Salt Lake City, Utah. No services will be held. Funeral directors, Evans & Early.

First I direct that all my just debts and funeral expensws be paid.

Second, I give, devise and bequeth all my property, both real and personal to my wife, Cathryn G. Haskell in the event she survives me.

Third, In the event my said wife, Cathryn G. Haskell does not survive mei give, devise and bequeth all my property, both real and personal to Jerry F. Connor of New York City, June R. Golden of Oneida, NY and the Oneida Valley National Bank, Oneida, NY in trust for the following uses and purposes: to keep the same invested in interest bearing securities, and from the income therof to pay said June R. Golden Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) per year during her life. The remaing of said trust fund is to be used for the support, maintenance and education of my three sons, Edward R. Haskell, John G. Haskell and Robert L. Haskell until they reach the age of twenty five years. As each of my sons arrive at the age of Twenty five years said trustees are to pay over to them one third of said trust fund, except that said trustees are to retain sufficient amount of said trust fund to provide an income of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) per year during her life and at her death the portion of said trust fund that shall have been retained by said trustees is to be divided between my sons at such time as they arrive at the age of twenty five years.

Fourth In the event that neither my said wife nor my children survive me, I direct such executors and trustees herein before named to retain enough of my estate and invest the same to produce an income of $3,000 annualy which I direct to pay June M. Golden during her life. I give, devise and bequeth to my sister, Edna H. Connor and to my sister, Florence  Chapin the sum of $4,000 eachand to Mrs. Effie Murdick and Mrs Alcena M. Keefer sisters of my wife, $10,000 each.

HASKELL, EDWARD R., 92, of St. Pete Beach, died Tuesday (May 2, 2006) at the Health and Rehabilitation Center at Dolphin View. He came here in 1963 as a seasonal resident from his native Oneida, N.Y., where he was the owner of the Hamblin-Munz-Haskell Insurance Agency. He was a graduate of Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., and a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Geraldine "Gerry;" and a son, Scott, and a granddaughter, Chiara Haskell, both of Boston.

ONEIDA - Edward R. Haskell, 92, Sayles Street, died Tuesday evening, May 2, 2006, in St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.

Born in Oneida on Dec. 23, 1913, he was the son of Edward L. and Cathryn Golden Haskell. A lifelong resident of Oneida, Eddie was a graduate of Oneida High School and Colgate University, class of 1936. From 1936 until his retirement in 1976, Ed was associated with Hamblin, Munz & Haskell Insurance, where he was the owner, president and an independent insurance agent. He was the last home office reporting independent insurance agent for the Hartford Insurance Company in New York state.

In addition to his work in the insurance industry, Ed served on the board of directors of both the Oneida Valley National Bank and Oneida Molded Plastics Corporation, and the Board of Managers of the Oneida City Hospital. Eddie served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Ed married Geraldine Lanz on Sept. 23, 1963. For many years, Eddie and Gerry resided in Florida during winters and on Oneida Lake in summers. Ed was a former Big Chief of the Powhatan Club and Past Exulted Ruler of the Oneida Elks Club, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks No. 767. In addition, he was a member of the American Legion, Oneida Post No. 169, the Oneidas Club and a charter member of Kanon Valley Country Club.

Surviving are his wife, Gerry; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott E. Haskell and Anne Occhipinti of Boston, Mass.; one granddaughter, Chiara Occhipinti Haskell of Boston, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. He also is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Jureller and son-in-law, John.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert L. Haskell on July 10, 1989 and John G. Haskell on April 11, 2006.

She was born in Oneida. She was a graduate of Oneida High School. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church of Oneida and its Altar Rosary Society, Court Our Lady 1250 of the Catholic Daughters of America and Kanon Valley Country Club.

Survivors: A daughter, Kathleen "Kitty" Jureller of Colden; three grandchildren.

SHERRILL - John G. Haskell, 89, Ocean Drive, Juno Beach, Fla., and West Hamilton Avenue, Sherrill, died Tuesday evening, April 11, 2006, in Palm Beach Hospital, after suffering a coronary attack at his home.

Born in Oneida, on Aug. 7, 1916, he was the son of Edward L. and Cathryn Golden Haskell. A lifelong resident of the Oneida area, Jack was a graduate of Oneida High School and attended St. Lawrence University. He married Virginia Schocke in St. John's Episcopal Church, Oneida, on Feb. 17, 1939. Mrs. Haskell died on May 1, 1994. For many years, Mr. and Mrs. Haskell resided in Florida for the majority of the year, spending summers in central New York.

Prior to his retirement in December 1991, Jack served as the President and Chairman of the board of directors of the Oneida Savings Bank - a career that spanned 55 years of service. His career in banking began in 1936. He was elected secretary-treasurer in 1953; vice-president in 1960; president and trustee in 1962 and chief executive officer in 1979; and chairman of the board from 1973 until 1992. During his career in banking, Jack saw the assets grow from $6 million to over $130 million.

In the savings bank industry, Jack served as the Chairman of Group II of the Savings Bank Association of New York, a director of the Savings Bank Association of New York State, including chairman of its Mortgage and Real Estate Committee, and director for two terms of Savings Bank Trust Company and Institutional Securities Corporation. He participated in various civic organizations, including the Oneida Hospital Foundation as one of the originators and serving as the first president, a former director of the Oneida Chamber of Commerce, a director and past president of the Oneida Community Chest, a director of the Madison County Boy Scout Council, a former trustee of Cazenovia College, a member of the Maroon Council at Colgate University, a member and former vestryman of St. John's Episcopal Church, past secretary and life member of the Oneida Elks Lodge No. 767 Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, a member of the American Legion, Oneida Post 169, and a member and former Big Chief of the Powhatan Club. In 1998, Jack received the Distinguished Service Award from the Greater Oneida Chamber of Commerce. A veteran of World War II, Jack served with the United States Navy.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, John E. and Pattie Haskell of Manlius; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Rick Lounsbury of Cazenovia; his companion of several years, Jean Gordon; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Edward R. and Gerry Haskell and Vera Haskell-Amundson, all of Oneida; five grandchildren, Kiersten Warndorf, Julie Ford, Tory Whitlock, Pieper Stover, and Tucker Lounsbury; eight great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert L. Haskell, on July 10, 1989.

Virginia S. Haskell, 76, of 415 W. Hamilton Ave. died Sunday in Jupiter, Fla.

Mrs. Haskell was a life resident of the Sherrill area. She was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church and a member of its Altar Guild, the Oneida City Hospital Auxiliary, the Kanon Valley Country Club and the Oneida Community Golf Club.

Surviving are her husband, John G.; a son, John E. of Oneida; a daughter, Karen Lounsbury of Cazenovia; five grandchildren; and two nephews.

Services for former Oneida Postmaster Robert L. Haskell, 67, of 451 Broad St., who died Monday at Oneida City Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. John's Episcopal Church in Oneida. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Haskell was a life resident of Oneida. He retired in 1979 after 30 years as postmaster of the Oneida Post Office, a position he was appointed to in 1949 by President Harry S. Truman.

After his retirement from the U.S. Postal Service, Mr. Haskell worked for Haskell Real Estate Associates.

Mr. Haskell was long active with the Democratic Party. At the time of his death, he was chairman of the Madison County Democratic Committee. He was a member and former chairman of the Oneida City Democratic Committee and a member of the executive committee of the state Democratic Committee. Mr. Haskell also was a member of the James Hanley for Congress Committee and chaired the Nancy Larraine Hoffmann for Senate Committee.

Mr. Haskell served 20 years as chairman of the Oneida Youth Bureau Commission, which during his tenure created the Mt. Hope and Chapman pools, the winter skating program and the consulting psychologists program. He served on the state Division for Youth under former Govs. Averill Harriman and Nelson Rockefeller.

Mr. Haskell served as public safety commissioner of the city of Oneida in 1987, and that same year co-chaired the Oneida City Hospital Task Force.

Mr. Haskell was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, a member and former chief of the Powhatan Club and a member and former president of the state Football Association. He also was a member of the Oneida Lodge, BPOE, and the Loyal Order of the Moose. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, Mr. Haskell was a member of Oneida Post, American Legion.

Mr. Haskell received the Oneida Junior Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year Award in 1956.

Surviving are his wife, the former Vera Presley; a son, Edward P. of Oneida; two brothers, Edward R. of Oneida and John G. of Sherrill; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Vera Haskell Amundson, 89, of Ft. Myers, died Saturday, July 25, at her home in Ft. Myers. Born in Ft. Myers, on April 20, 1926, she was the daughter of Walter Presley and Dally Rudd. Vera graduated from Ft. Myers High School in 1944 before marrying Robert "Bob" Haskell and moving to Oneida, NY. In Oneida, she was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church of Oneida and a member of The Columbian Club and Kanon Valley Country Club. Vera spent much time in Ft. Myers throughout her adult life before moving back to Ft. Myers permanently. She was a communicant of St. Hilary's Episcopal Church, and a member of Myerlee Country Club and Cypress Lake Country Club.

Surviving are her four grandchildren, Courtney Hughes and her husband, Travis, Brendan Haskell, Caitlin Haskell and her husband, Adam Blair, and Trevor Haskell; daughter-in-law, Hilary Haskell; four great-grandchildren, Killian, Moira, and Marin Hughes, and William Haskell; and sister Joyce Hart Clemons. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert "Bob" Haskell, husband, Elden Amundson, son, Edward "Ted" Haskell, and eight brothers and sisters.
