April 24, 2012NEWPORT - Howard A. Davis Jr., 86, of Pearl Street in Newport, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at his home.
Howard was born Nov. 22, 1925, in Norway, Maine, son of the late Howard Alonzo Sr. and Doris (Haskel) Davis. He grew up in Croydon and North Newport and graduated from Towle High School in the Class of 1944. For more than 30 years, he was a delivery driver for Corbett Oil and afterward worked and later retired from Pine Tree Casting. Howard was always active but a very private man who was more than willing to help others yet would take none in return. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, maple syruping and working in the wood pile, burning wood up until a few months ago. His family was what was most important to him, and he loved his grandkids and great-grandkids dearly.
He is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Madeline Fay (Boutwell) Davis; two sons, Larry Davis and his wife, Alice, of Unity, and Dexter and his wife, Diane, of Newport; four daughters, Shirley Davis and her companion, Keith Perry, of Unity, Deborah Dufour and her husband, Billy, of Newport, Sandra Davis and her companion, Bob Foisy, of Claremont, and Lori Campney and her companion, Gary Sciarratta, of Jamesburg, N.J.; a sister, Barbara Dow and her husband, Richard, of Enfield, N.H.; a brother, Albert Davis and his wife, Diane, of Grantham; nine grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Cote.

May 28, 2008.STACK, Sally Lee, 77, of Brooksville, Fla., died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Oak Hill Hospital, Brooksville. A native of Bridgeport, Conn., she had been a resident of this area for the past 23 years coming from East Eddington, Maine. She was a homemaker who enjoyed ceramics, knitting, gardening and reading. She was a longtime Girl Scout and a member of Mariner United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the craft group.
Survivors include her son, James F. (Debhie) Stack of Joshua, Texas; five daughters, Paula Stack of Highland Park, Ill., Shari Lee (David) Sugarman, of North Babylon, N.Y., Alin (Russ) Knox of Londonderry, N.H., Beth Alin Buller of Concord, N.H., and Myra Jane Stack of Brooksville; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Mrs. Coley leaves her husband, William, and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Peyton of Cambridge, O., and Mrs. Hazel Weitzel of Cincinnati.

Born Dec. 25, 1912, in Rockford, daughter of Emil and Emma Blomberg Johnson. The Johnsons farmed many years. Lived all her life in Winnebago. Married Glenn R. Langley in the Johnson home Feb. 23, 1935; he died Jan. 3, 1972.
Since past June, she had lived in thr P.A. Peterson Home, Rockford. Member of Middle Creek Presbyterian Church, Winnebago, Women's Association of church and Winnebago County Home Extension, Wunnebago Wonder Workers 4-H leader. Graduated fron Rockford Central High School.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry (Harriett) Langley, Gene Langley and Jay Langley, all of Winnebagoi; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Johnson, Phoenix, and Clarence (Myrtle) Johnson, Rockford; two sisters, Evelyn (William) Bachman, and Hazel (Walter) Wittwer, Monroe Center.
Predceased by sister Dorothy Calvert, and brother Richard Johnson.

April 3, 1991Maurice E. Langley, 73, 1800 Maple Ave., Belvidere, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday, April 1, 1991, in St. Joseph Hospital, Belvidere, following a long illness. Born June 5, 1917, in Durand, son of Matthew W. and Grace Baker Langley.
Married Eva E. Kinyon in Durand on Oct. 10, 1937. Married Dorothy L. Gould Yerk in Chicago, Feb. 24, 1969.
Employed as a dairy farmer, owned and operated M/E. Lanley & Sons Milk Haulers for 12 years. Employed in Stockroom at Sundstrand Corp., Belvidere; then worked as machine operator at Belvedere Products a number of years. Fifty year member and past master of Roscoe Masonic Lodge 75, AF & AM; member Kishwaukee Chapter 90 Royal Arch Masons, Belvidere, and Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Freeport. Graduated from Durand High School, Class of 1935.

October 3, 2007DURAND - Shirl W. Langley, of Durand went to be with Jesus on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, after a lengthy illness. He was born January 17, 1924, in Durand, to Matthew William Langley and Grace Elizabeth Baker.
Shirl married Darlene Boeger on Oct. 12, 1947.
He attended Durand schools and lived and farmed most of his life in the Durand area on the family farm, "Langleys' Pride Acres," retiring in 1993. Lifetime member of Winnebago County Farm Bureau and Durand United Methodist Church. Shirl loved bowling, playing cards, mowing his yard, fixing things and playing on his computer. His greatest love was his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirl is survived by his wife of 60 years, Darlene; daughters, Sally Johnson of Rockford and Connie Langley of Durand; son, Terry (Susan) Langley of Riverton; grandchildren, Chad (Andrea) Johnson, Dawn (fianc Jerome Bernardes) Johnson; stepgrand-children, Kim (John) Patterson, Tricia Kelly; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Riley Johnson; stepgreat-grandchildren, Eric Kelly, Will and Max Patterson; honorary great-granddaughter, Brenna; numerous nieces and nephews; and caring in-laws, Gary and Sharon Boeger. Shirl is also survived by his special friends of the card club that he and Darlene were part of for 55 years, Alyce and Allen Roby, Duane and Carol Kinney, Jerry and Juanita Mulvain, Betty and the late Jack Yaun, Gayle and the late Terry Foss, and special card playing friend, Betty Ramsdell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Charolette Burton; and brothers, Glenn, Maurice and Bob.

July 10, 1997Lisa May Hinke, 82, of Sonoma, died June 9, 1997, in Sonoma.
Mrs. Hinke was born in Rockford, Ill., and was a psychiatric technician at the Sonoma Developmental Center for 25 years. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, a member of the Sonoma Valley Grange, the Sonoma Valley Historical Society and the Rebecca Lodge. She traveled extensively with her husband when he was in the military, and was on Hawaii during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Mrs. Hinke was the loving mother of Charles M. Hinke, Jr., of Sonoma, Henry H. Hinke of Sonoma and John C. Hinke of Sonoma; the mother-in-law of Linda Hinke; and the beloved grandmother of Erik, Kristen, John and Shanelle Hinke, and Adrienne Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles M. Hinke, Sr.
