Suddenly, on Tuesday, November 26, 1957, at Prince Georgees Hospital, Frank B. Haskell, of 8709 Annapolis rd., Lanham, Md., beloved husband of Beulah M. Haskell, and father of Frank B. Haskell III. He is also survived by his father, Frank B. Haskell Sr.; a sister, Mrs. Winthrop A. Chesser, and two brothers, Truman L. and B. Paul Haskell.

Retired Metropolitan Police Detective, Saint Mary''s County Commissioner, died Friday June 17, 2016, at Washington Hospital Center after a short illness.Paul Chesser was born in Washington, DC, the son of Winfred A. and Virginia Haskell Chesser, on August 20, 1930. He attended school in the District and studied at the University of Maryland and American University.
From 1951 to 53 he served as a "Seabee" in the 103rd Naval Construction Battalion during the Korean War. In 1955 he joined the Metropolitan Police Department, retiring in 1980 after a distinguished career as a Detective Sergeant in the Intelligence Division.
After retiring, Paul moved to St. George Island, an area with a long history for his family, where he took part in numerous local civic and benevolent organizations, including a term as a County Commissioner from 1994 to 98.
Paul Chesser is survived by his wife, Dorothy McRae; their son LCDR Timothy P. Chesser, a son, Daniel W. Chesser and three sisters, Elizabeth Collins and Carolyn Stelle of Silver Spring, MD, and Mary Rivera of Woodstock, MD.

September 17, 2000Maxine Z. Haskell, 85, a kindergarten teacher at Landover Hills Elementary School from the mid-1950s to the early 1960s, died Sept. 15 at the Montgomery Hospice in Rockville after cancer surgery.
Mrs. Haskell, who graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan College, was a Tennessee native. She came to the Washington area in the late 1930s and lived in Lanham before moving to Piney Point, Md., about 1970. For the last decade, she had lived in Leisure World in Silver Spring.
Her husband, Trueman L. Haskell, died in 1985.
Survivors include two sons, Trueman Jr., of Lanham, and William Z., of Dunkirk, Md.; a daughter, Sharon Bauer of Germantown; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

July 12, 1994B. Paul Haskell, 75, a civil engineer who retired from the Navy in 1973 as manager of the disaster recovery branch of the Bureau of Naval Facilities, died of cancer July 6 at Mount Vernon Hospital. He lived in Alexandria.
Mr. Haskell was a native of Washington and a graduate of Eastern High School and the University of Kentucky. He did graduate work in public management at George Washington University.
He served in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II and was recalled to active duty during the Korean War. He continued in the Navy Reserve as a commander of Civil Engineering Corps divisions and retired in 1971.
Early in his career, Mr. Haskell was a structural engineer with the U.S. Maritime Commission and a research engineer with the Bureau of Yards and Docks. He also had been a civil engineer with the Engineering and Research Development Laboratory at Fort Belvoir.
After he retired, Mr. Haskell was a building contractor restoring old houses and a quality control officer with P.M. Avco Corp., a construction company.
He was vice president of St. George Island Improvement Association in Piney Point, Md., where he had a summer home, and a member of the Seabee Veterans of America and Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Survivors include his wife, Irma Thompson Haskell of Alexandria; two sons, B. Paul Haskell, Jr. of Washington and James L. Haskell of Hadensville, Va.; a sister, Virginia H. Chesser of Leisure World in Silver Spring; and five grandchildren.

January 31, 2005Nancy S. Avery, 80, a native and lifelong resident of Annapolis, died Jan. 29 at the home of her son in Deale after a lengthy illness.
Born Sept. 7, 1924, Mrs. Avery graduated in 1941 from Annapolis High School and was active with her class reunion committee for many years. She formerly was employed as a secretary with Germantown Elementary School.
She was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church where she taught Sunday school for 40 years. Her interests included travel, learning new crafts and attending family gatherings.
She was married for 58 years to her high school sweetheart, Elzey "Buddy" Avery, before his death in 2004.Surviving are two sons, Donald Avery of Deale and Michael Avery of Gainesville, Fla.; one daughter, Betty Ann Sisson of Stillwater, Fla.; one sister, Joan Windsor of Ladson, S.C.; and two grandchildren.

May 19, 2004Elzey Rogers ''Buddy'' Avery, 79, a longtime resident of Admiral Heights in Annapolis, died May 17 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Avery was born in Deale on June 5, 1924, grew up in Annapolis and graduated in 1941 from Annapolis High School. He served in the Army from February 1943 to January 1946 and was stationed in New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan.
After the war he returned to Annapolis and married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Sacrey, on Oct. 7, 1946.
Mr. Avery worked at Eddie Leonard's sporting goods store and then joined the Postal Service as a letter carrier. He spent his career with the Annapolis Post Office, eventually becoming assistant postmaster before his retirement. Mr. Avery was active in local sports as a coach, referee, umpire and for many years director of the Annapolis YMCA youth sports programs. He was a life member of Annapolis Elks Lodge 622 and a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church. He enjoyed raising tomatoes, catching fish and watching golf.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael Avery of Gainesville, Fla., and Donald Avery of Deale; one daughter, Betty Ann Sisson of Stillwater, Okla.; two brothers, Carl Avery of Ridgely and Fred Avery of Centerville, Ga.; one sister, Anna Mae Jones of Edgewater; and two grandchildren.

March 13, 2014Joan S. Windsor, 87, formerly of Annapolis, died March 7 at the Masonic Health Care Center, Elizabethtown, PA. Born in Annapolis, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Farish) Sacrey and widow of the late David R. Windsor, who died in 1987.
She was a graduate of Annapolis High School class of 1944. She was a former member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Summer-ville, SC, and a member St. Peter Lutheran Church of Mechanicsburg, PA, and was active in its Red Hat Society. She was also a member of OES-ERME # 192 of Harrisburg, PA. Joan enjoyed working on crafts and card games. In addition to her parents and husband,
Joan was preceded in death by her son, David M. Windsor, and sister, Nancy Avery.
Surviving are two daughters, Robin (Gene) Griffin of Surf City, NC and Wendy (Daniel) Sweigert of Mechanicsburg, PA; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

January 7, 2000O'BRIEN - Dorothy Irene Farish of O'Brien died Tuesday at National Health Care Center in Lake City following an extended illness. She was 88. Mrs. Farish was born in Baltimore and moved to O'Brien from Tombstone, Ariz., in 1995. She was a homemaker and an Episcopalian.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Judy of Tombstone; a son, William Farish of O'Brien; a brother, Albert Cooper of Baltimore; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

August 3, 2005William F. Farish Jr., 76, of O'Brien, FL, died Friday, July 22, 2005, while vacationing in Fredericksburg.
Farish was born March 10, 1929, in Glen Burnie, MD, the son of William Farish Sr. and Dorothy Cooper Farish. He married Virginia Lee May on July 30, 1947, in Upper Marlboro, MD and she survives.
Throughout the years, Farish had been a plumber. He was a member of the J. Dewey Hawking Masonic Lodge No. 331, as well as the Shriners and SaaBar Temple in Tucson, AZ.
In addition to his wife, Farish is survived two daughters, including Linda Greenwood and her husband, Donald, of O'Brien, FL, and Dorothy Maggi. He is also survived by three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one sister, Charlotte Judy of Tempe, AZ.
His parents preceded him in death.

October 26, 2009Charles Edward Judy, 79, of Crownsville, died Oct. 22 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 12, 1930, in Cornstalk, W.Va., to the late Pearl Lee Judy and Ada Pearl (Walton) Judy.
Charles was a Sergeant in the United States Army and worked as a cable splicer for the United States Government. He enjoyed gardening, watching NASCAR and home repair projects.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald R. Judy, who died July 24, 2008.
Survivors include three daughters, Diane "Liz" Bryant of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Barbara "Bob" Kauffman of Littleton, Colo. and Jo Anne "Poops" Sordia of Tempe, Ariz.; one sister, Kathleen Dull of Millsboro, Del.; one brother, Dennis Judy of Cape St. Claire; five grandchildren; several nieces; and one nephew.

June 8, 1991A Mass of Christian burial for Nelson J. Molter, retired head of the State Law Library and author of a history of Severna Park, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. today at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Ritchie Highway and Cypress Creek Road.
Mr. Molter, who was 84 and had lived in Severna Park since 1911, died of heart failure Thursday at the Anne Arundel Medical Center.
He retired in 1977 as director of what was then known as the Maryland State Library after 45 years of service. Located in the Court of Appeals Building in Annapolis and always primarily a law library, it also contains many other reference, historical and rare books, including the subscription edition of the four-volume elephant folio of John James Audubon's "Birds of America.''
A native of Pikesville who moved to Severna Park as a child, he wrote a history of the area and of the Annapolis Short Line and Washington, Baltimore & Annapolis railroads.
He was a 1926 graduate of the Severn School, where he was captain of the wrestling team and later served as its coach. He also officiated at wrestling matches for the Maryland Scholastic Association. He also attended the University of Maryland, the Baltimore Business College and the University of Baltimore law school.
During World War II, he also owned and operated the Severna Supermarket. A former president of the Severna Park Improvement Association, he had also been a member of the Annapolis Yacht Club, the board of the Anne Arundel County Library and the Holy Name Society at St. John the Evangelist Church. He began playing golf in 1975 and was a member of the Bay Hills Golf Club.
His wife, the former Mary Rose Lord, died in 1973. He is survived by a daughter, Mary Catherine Yohn of Queenstown.
