Errold H Scott, 82, of 39 Scott St., died Monday in a local hospital.
He was born in Stonington, a son of Charles and Grace Knowlton Scott, he graduated from Portland High School and Shaw's Business College.
Mr. Scott had been the former owner of Scott's Parking Lot and the Friendship Motel, South Portland. He was a member of the Masons, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Portland, Kora Temple Shrine Lewiston and the 60-Plus Club. He was a former member of the Woodfords Club and a lifelong member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Boston.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Loveitt Scott of Portland; a daughter; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

March 31, 2017.Christopher T. Pickering, of Cos Cob, passed away on March 26, 2017.
He was born February 22, 1939 in Deer Isle, Maine to the late Carl W. and Marie Pickering. Christopher graduated Woodrow Wilson (Middletown) H.S. in 1957 and served in the U.S. Air Force.
During his career, he worked for Chemical Bank of New York and Bank of New York (Mellon).
He is the beloved husband of Sandy (Tsao). He is survived by his loving sons, Calvin Chi, Sean Chi, and George C. Pickering; and cherished grandson, Justin Pickering. Christopher is also survived by his dear brothers, Emery W. Pickering (Barbara Story) of Austin, Texas and Stephen T. Pickering (Melinda) of Denver, Colorado. He is predeceased by his brother, Wyvern M. Pickering (Lola), of Rockville, Maryland.
Beulah M. Pressey was a teacher at the time of her marriage to Laurence Pickering.
George H. Noyes was killed in an automobile accident.

DEER ISLE � Genice N. Welcome, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at a Deer Isle health- care facility. She was born May 9, 1918, in Stonington, the daughter of Dr. Benjamin Lake Noyes and Linnie (Howard) Noyes.
Genice was a former executive secretary of the Deer Isle-Stonington Historical Society, which she enjoyed very much.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Victor E. Welcome of Deer Isle; four children, Bruce C. Greenlaw of Stonington, Paul L. Greenlaw and his wife, Judy, of Deer Isle, Vicki J. Pope and her husband, David, of Saline, Mich., and Jeffrey Welcome and his wife, Lori, of Stonington, Conn.; five grandchildren, Patricia Boutilier, Dr. Paul Greenlaw, Ashley Welcome, Katherine Welcome, and Eric Welcome; two great-grand-children, Douglas and Sarah Boutilier; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Genice was predeceased by a sister, Natalie Cleveland; and a brother George H. Noyes.

September 14, 2008STONINGTON � Reginald Leroy Greenlaw, 97, husband of the late Gertrude (Smith) Greenlaw, died Sept. 13, 2008, at a Deer Isle health care facility.
He was born Jan. 9, 1911, in Stonington, the son of Leroy and Stella (Powers) Greenlaw.
Reginald graduated from Stonington High School. After graduation he went to work on the Lone Star, a Singer yacht. Then in 1930 he came back to Stonington and started Square Deal Garage, around 1935 he started selling oil, by bringing tanks of oil across the Eggemoggin thoroughfare by Indian motorcycle. Then when World War II started, he went to South Portland shipyard and worked as "lead man." Reginald returned to Deer Isle/ Stonington in 1946, to continue serving the local people with his garage and oil business. Through the years he ran many successful businesses including: Square Deal Auto Sales, GE Appliance dealer, airplane pilot, Mobil oil distributor, Palmer Day Boats No. 1-4, in which he was well known for around the country.
He is survived by two sons, Bruce Greenlaw and his friend, Judy Radner, of Stonington and Paul Greenlaw and his wife, Judy, of Sunset; a granddaughter, Patricia Boutilier and her husband, Michael, of Sunset; a grandson, Dr. Paul R. Greenlaw and his wife, Heather, of Wilson, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Douglas and Sarah Boutilier; a beloved sister-in-law, Frances Greenlaw; nieces, Pamela Steele of Brooklin and Susan Pluhar of Graz; a nephew, Skip Greenlaw of Stonington; a special friend, Ethelda Eaton of Stonington.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence P. Greenlaw; and his sister, Barbara and her husband, Don Webb.
William P. Richardson was a sea captain.
Howard C. Holden at age 40 was a yacht steward.
Find-a-GraveQuintin L. Nicholas, 80, a former Palmer postmaster, died Wednesday, January 25 at a St. Paul hospital.....
Mr. Nicholas was born November 23, 1908 at Palmer to Joseph and Ella McClellan Nicholas. He grew up and went to school at Palmer. He graduated from Palmer High School in 1928.
He married Glena Holding of Rhode Island on December 5, 1945. They farmed in Palmer until 1956 when he moved into town and become Postmaster. He retired in 1974 after 18 years of service. Mr. Nicholas died in 1979. He married Amelia Bader Kellogg on July 6, 1984. They continued to reside in Palmer.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 120 of Palmer and the 40 & 8 Voiture 136.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Steven, of Santa Fe, N. M., one daughter, Mrs. Robert Carolyn Stalter of San Diego, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Victor, and one sister, Beatrice.
