Volume 7, No. 4, December 1998Evelyn E. Haskell, 90, widow of Norman B Haskell, died July 19, 1998 at the Island Nursing Home, Stonington. She taught in Deer Isle schools briefly and retired as a postal clerk in 1965. She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Eaton and her husband Neville of Deer Isle, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Interment was in Mount Adams Cemetery, Deer Isle.

October 4, 2016Deer Isle - Neville (Bud) D. Eaton, 88, of Deer Isle, Maine, died September 30, 2016, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. He was born May 29, 1928, in Stonington, Maine, to Keith and Annie (Davis) Eaton.
Neville graduated from McKinley High School in Deer Isle, class of 1946, as valedictorian. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952, owned and operated Neville's Service Station in Deer Isle for many years, and was manager and assistant vice president at Union Trust Company in Stonington for 20 years. Neville was a ham radio enthusiast for many years, getting his license W1RPC in 1948; talking to people all over the world. He was a school board member, lifetime member of Marine Lodge 122, and a member of the Memorial Ambulance Corp for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, fishing, and gardening. Travelling around the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean Islands was something he enjoyed; his favorites being the Hawaiian Islands and Aruba.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marjorie (Haskell) of Deer Isle and his spoiled cat Missy; 3 children, Sally and husband, Mark (Bo) Galloway, of New Hampshire, Betty Eaton and her partner, James (Peewee) Bubar, of Franklin and Gary Eaton and his wife, Linda, of Lamoine; 4 very special grandchildren, Rebecca (Becca) and husband, Josh Jordan, Sarah Anderson and boyfriend, Codie Abbott, Kristy Eaton and Keith Eaton; and 1 very special great-grandchild, Grandpa's chatterbox, Adalyn Jordan. He is also survived by his sister, Rosamond Sewall; nephew, David Sewall, niece, Valerie and husband, Peter Duncan; and several cousins.

Randall was the Master of the Texas Liberty Ship, SS Filipi De Bastrop in WWII. The ship was built in Houston in 1943 or 1944 and is now a part of the atrificial reef in Tampa Florida.

Vol 3 # 3, Page 16Emily P. Haskell died 9 June 1992, aged 78, in Woodbridge, Virginia. Until 1987 a lifelong resident of Brunswick, Maine, she taught school for 19 years.
She was survived by daughter Alice Hughes of Lorton, Virginia, and son Randall Haskell of Waldwick, New Jersey, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

August 19, 2020Burlington - Randall J. Haskell (Randy) of Burlington NJ passed away on Aug. 13, 2020 at 83. He died peacefully at the Masonic Village in Burlington, where he lived with his wife Sandy. Randy was born in May 1937 and grew up in Deer Isle ME. It was there he met his beloved wife Sandy in 1955 when she visited the island on vacation, and were married in 1957.
After high school Randy joined the Navy and served on the USS Tanner in the Mediterranean. After the Navy he got a job as a Relay Technician with PSE&G. Randy & Sandy settled down in Waldwick NJ were they raised their two sons Russell of Mount Laurel NJ, and Scott of Burlington NJ.
After his retirement from PSE&G, Randy & Sandy spent time traveling, with the majority of the summers spent in Deer Isle ME, which he loved. Randy also loved volleyball, bike riding, and especially skiing. In his later years Randy & Sandy left Waldwick for Burlington County to be closer to his sons.
Randy is survived by his loving wife Sandy, sons Russell & Scott, Sister Alice Hughes, 9 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
The family will be having private services and the interment of Randy's ashes will be held on Deer Isle in the summer of 2021.

September 27, 2022Sandra A Haskell, n�e Zimmerman, of Burlington, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday September 14, 2022, after reaching the age of 83 years old. She died peacefully at the Masonic Village in Burlington, NJ,
Sandra was born in Stockton, CA in Oct 1938 to Daniel Zimmerman and Mildred Zimmerman, née Allen. The family relocated to San Francisco and then Burlingame where she spent her childhood. After 6th grade, the family relocated to Ridgewood, NJ. where she lived until she was married.
During the summer of 1955, Sandy met the love of her life Randy while she was on summer vacation with a friend's family in Deer Isle, ME. They met at the Lily Pond which was a short way from Randall's family's home. The couple was married in June of 1957 and were married for 63 years at the time of Randall's death.
The couple settled in the Bergen County New Jersey area and bought a home in Waldwick, NJ and there they raised their two sons, Russell and Scott.
In addition to raising her boys, Sandra was active in the Waldwick United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school. After her sons were old enough, Sandra worked as a home health aide for a visiting nurse service until her retirement.
After Randall's and Sandra's retirement, they spent time traveling whenever they could. The couple's connection to the Town of Deer Isle, brought them back every summer and eventually they inherited the family home where Randall had spent part of his childhood. This allowed them to spend all summer on the island for many years and share the experience with their sons and their families.
Sandra was predeceased by her beloved husband Randall Haskell, her infant daughter Julie, Father Daniel Zimmerman, Mother Mildred Zimmerman and her Nephew Tyson Elliott.
Sandy is survived by her sister Oma Cox, children; Russell Haskell of Mt Laurel NJ and Scott Haskell of Burlington NJ; Nephew Eric Elliot; 9 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild.

July 29, 2005Alice (Haskell) Scott, 90, of Newcastle Drive, Nashua, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at Radius Healthcare in Braintree, Mass. Mrs. Scott was born June 11, 1915, in Sedgwick, Maine, daughter of the late Harris and Florence (Morgan) Haskell. She had been a resident of Nashua for 30 years.
She was the widow of William Scott, who died in 2000. They had been married for 62 years.
Mrs. Scott worked as a sales associate at Marshalls in Nashua for 20 years. She was an avid reader and was very devoted to her family. Mrs. Scott was educated in Somerville, Mass.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Florence and Jeremiah Ahern of Avon, Mass., Alyce and Jack Collins of Montpelier, Vt., and Cynthia Scott of Portland, Ore.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
