CHELMSFORD �  Harriette Lillie (Fiske) Farrington, 97, a longtime resident of Chelmsford since 1941, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Charles Calhoun Farrington.

She was born in Lowell on May 24, 1917, and was the daughter of the late Starr Hollinger and Ellen (Weaver) Fiske.

Harriette grew up in Lowell and was a 1935 graduate of Lowell High School and a 1937 graduate of the Bradshaw Business School. Prior to her retirement in 1991, Harriette was employed for 20 years as a bookkeeper at White Electric Service and DeWolfe Real Estate, followed by 11 years at Bradford Realty. Harriette was a longtime member of the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Chelmsford and their Women's Alliance. She was also a member of the Paint and Powder Club and the Chelmsford Historical Society, having served as a member of their Board of Directors. In 2009, she moved to the Ledgewood Bay assisted living home in Milford, NH.

Harriette is survived by three daughters and two sons; Susan F. Trombly of Milford, NH, Faye M. Farrington and her husband Michael A. Walonis of Nashua, NH, Wendy E. Ercolani and her husband Edward R. Ercolani, Jr. of Lowell, Charles E. Farrington and his partner Richard Coco of Methuen, and Robert F. Farrington of Chelmsford with whom she made her home for many years. She also leaves nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two nephews.

Harriette was the sister of the late Marjorie W. Horndahl, Helen E. Fiske, and Frank H. Fiske.

Chester H. Clark, former parts department manager for Park Circle Motors, died Friday at his home in East Falmouth, Mass., from complications of heart disease.

A graveside service for Mr. Clark, 80, was to be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the National Cemetery in Bourne, Mass.

He lived in Reisterstown from 1954 until 1969 while serving as parts manager for the Baltimore dealership. After he retired and moved to Massachusetts, he served as a group sales account executive for Sheraton Inn and more recently on a part-time basis for the Shoreway Acres Inn.

Born in South Portland, Maine, and reared in Waltham, Mass., he was a graduate of Colby College, where he sang on his own weekly radio show. During World War II, he was first an enlisted bombardier in the Army Air Forces and then was commissioned and headed motor pools in New Orleans.

coming to Baltimore, he had been a salesman for a Boston car dealer and made sales training films for the General Motors Corp.

He is survived by his wife, the former Eleanore Eldridge; his mother, Mildred Clark of Falmouth; a daughter, Shirley Ann D'Este of New Seabury, Mass.; and a granddaughter.

FALMOUTH - Eleanore "Ellie" Clark, 90, of East Falmouth, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, peacefully at the Royal Nursing Center.

She was the wife of the late Chester H. Clark Jr. of Waltham.

Born in Waltham, daughter of the late Shirley H. and Alice Barton Eldridge, she grew up riding and showing horses with her family after her father had established the South Avenue Riding Club. She competed in "A Shows" and rode in the Boston Garden and Springfield Expos. She graduated from Waltham High School and secretarial school in Boston.

Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Clark moved to New Orleans for four years during World War II. They lived in Maryland from 1949 to 1969, raising their daughter on a horse farm, and she taught riding and piano lessons and was an accomplished artist of portraits and landscapes.

She became a successful Realtor before returning to Massachusetts in 1970, and as a Realtor, worked for Jack Conway before opening her own office in West Falmouth.

She devoted the majority of her time to attending the musical performances and horse shows of her daughter and granddaughter. She loved to go to "The Barn" to help care for her horses. Mrs. Clark sang in the Greater Falmouth Mostly All Male Men's Chorus, performing concerts in Boston and Europe, and with the Dreamspinners Woman's chorus for three years, up to age 84.

Mrs. Clark was a very loving, spiritual woman who believed in the goodness in all, the majesty of nature, and a personal devotion to God. Her light and love will be missed by those who knew her.

She leaves her daughter, Shirley Ann D'Este of Mashpee; and her granddaughter, Danielle Lehy of Marstons Mills.

She was the sister of the late William F. and Shirley B. Eldridge and Victoria (Eldridge) Whipple.

Joyce Townsend Clark died suddenly July 5, 2008 at age 84, in Palm Coast. She was born on September 6, 1923 in Newton, Mass. She was the owner and operator of the Red Barn Antiques in West Falmouth, Mass. for over 30 years. She also worked at Falmouth Hospital for many years. She moved to Palm Coast in 1993. She loved her friends, neighbors and the community of Palm Coast.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank.

She leaves her daughter, Bonnie (Ward), Jacksonville, Fla.; sons, F. Dow (Martha) Sandwich, Mass. and Peter (Frances) Ocklawaha, Fla. She also leaves five grandchildren, Heather, Ian, Chris, Kate and Colleen.

She also leaves her cat, Princess who was a rescue cat.

She was predeceased by her husband, Irwin 'Ike' W. Kresser Jr.

She leaves two sons, Charles R. Kresser, and his wife, Julia of Kingston, NY and William D. Kresser of Leominster; seven grandchildren, Erich Kresser, Stacey Irwin, and her husband, John, Kerri Seeley, and her husband Walter, Patula Dicing, and her husband Eric, William Kresser, and his wife Pam, and Chris and Daniel Kresser: and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by a son, Irwin J. Kresser of Provincetown and one sister, Adele Largey of Leominster.

Mrs. Kresser was employed as a secretary at Christ Church and Chapel Hill School in Waltham, MA and later at North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend, MA and the Lunenburg Council on Aging.

She was a 1938 graduate of Waltham High School, attended LaSalle Junior College in Newton, and was a 1940 graduate of Fisher Junior College in Boston. She was a former member of Christ Church in Waltham and the Woman's Club.

She was born in Cambridge, MA, on January 30, 1921, a daughter of the late Dow A., and Antoinette (Saldwalk) Clark and formerly lived in Waltham, before moving to Lunenburg in 1968.

LUNENBURG - Irwin W. "Ike" Kresser Jr., 77, of 87 Beachview Road, a longtime union carpenter, died yesterday in Keystone Nursing Home, Leominster, after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 53 years, Priscilla (Clark) Kresser; three sons, Charles Kresser of Kingston, N.Y., William Kresser of Waltham and I. Jeffrey Kresser of Provincetown; two sisters, Dorothy Bushey of Bloomfield, N.J., and Jean Gerhardt of Acton; seven grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

He was born in Boston, son of Irwin W. Sr. and Katherine (Havey) Kresser, and lived many years in Waltham and 26 years here.

He graduated from Boston Latin High School and Burdett School in Boston.

Mr. Kresser was a union carpenter for many years in the Boston area. He was then a maintenance worker for the Lunenburg School Department for 10 years, retiring in 1981.

FAIRFAX, VA � Kenyon Joseph Hayes, recently of East Dennis, passed away at age 94 in Fairfax, Virginia, on October 24th. He was born in 1916, the son of Gladys Clement and Louis Hayes. He grew up in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and graduated from Brown University with a Sc.B. degree in chemistry, magna cum laude. He taught at Hobart College for three years, then attended the University of Chicago and Harvard University as a graduate student in chemistry, leaving the latter to join the Navy in World War II. While stationed in Washington, D.C., he met his future wife, Alice Kerr, who predeceased him by three weeks.

Following the war, he and his Alice moved to Norwich, New York, where he became a research chemist for Eaton Laboratories of Norwich Pharmaceutical Company. They raised two daughters in Norwich, New York, while enjoying summers in Cooperstown and visiting Cape Cod.

Dr. Hayes was responsible for the development of the antibiotic Furadantin and its successor Macrodantin, along with his brother-in-law Gabriel Gever. He was the holder or co-holder of 14 patents for new chemical compounds. He was awarded an honorary doctorate from Hartwick College in 1957. He was Director of Research, and a Director of quality assurance for the company' new plant in Puerto Rico before retiring to Cape Cod in 1976.

Kenyon continued his Navy career by serving in the Naval Reserves. He worked at Edgewood Arsenal in Maryland during the Korean War, becoming a Commander.
While living on Cape Cod, Ken enjoyed furniture crafting, boating, lobstering and gardening. His keen mind allowed him to continue to read, do crosswords and remain independent until recently.

Kenyon is survived by his daughter Caroline Ewart and son-in-law Stephen of Reston, Virginia. His sister Jean Gever, formerly of South Yarmouth, and one brother, Louis Hayes of Kennett Square, PA, survive him as well. His oldest daughter, Margaret Prescott, predeceased him, as did Alice, his wife of 66 years. Five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter will remember him fondly.

FAIRFAX, Va. �  Alice Kerr Hayes, age 93, passed away peacefully at The Gardens of Fairfax Assisted Living in Virginia on September 30, 2011. She formerly lived in East Dennis, Massachusetts, and the Royal Assisted Living in Harwich.

Alice was the daughter of Col. and Mrs. Charles Phillips Kerr. She graduated from high school in Washington, D.C., and attended American University. She was one of the first women political science graduates of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She worked in the New Deal Administration as an executive secretary before her marriage.

Her husband of 67 years, Kenyon Hayes, survives her. Alice raised two daughters in Norwich, New York, and volunteered with the Girl Scouts, Norwich Public Schools and her Episcopal church.

She and her husband retired to East Dennis on Cape Cod and enjoyed many years of active retirement both there and in Florida. She was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church, East Dennis Ladies' Aide Society, Questers and a book club.

Alice leaves behind her husband, recently of Fairfax, Virginia, and a daughter, Caroline Ewart and son-in-law Stephen Ewart of Reston, Virginia. Her daughter, Margaret Prescott predeceased her as did her sister Jane and brother William Kerr.

She will be missed by her sister Isabel Sausser of Silver Spring, Md. She also leaves behind many memories with her five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Jean worked as an RN in private practice; she graduated from Rhode Island School of Nursing.

She is survived by her children, David Gever of Hope Valley, R.I; John Gever of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Martha Gever of New York, N.Y.; and Christine Gever of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Louis Hayes, of Pa.

John is survived by his wife of over 22 years, Victoria Manfredi; his son, John A. and his wife, Kelly R. John graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1957, and later graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, Cum Laude with a J.D in 1968. He served in the United States Navy from 1957-1964, he graduated 1st in Naval Flight Training and earned the status of Top Gun. He also served in the Air National Guard from 1964-1985, retiring in 1985 as Lt. Col. He practiced law privately and corporately in the Hartford area for over 30 years. He was partners Adinolfi, O'Brien & Hayes PC in Hartford from 1970-1980. In his spare time, John enjoyed writing, reading and woodworking. He was always a student ready to learn and always a professor ready to teach. A prince among men unassuming and honorable he will be missed by all.

Dorothy was born on Sept. 25, 1919, in Lynn, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Theodore and Marion (Wiggin) Dinsmoor. She had been a resident of Laconia for most of her life.

Dorothy is survived by a son, Walter A. Haskell, and his wife, Patricia, and her daughter, Carol A. Simes; three grandchildren, Tina Gilbert, Tracie Osborne, and Dan Dearborn; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Haskell; her infant son, Arthur Haskell Jr.; her grandson, Brian Haskell; and her granddaughter, Holly Moody.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 2-5 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. at the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford.

GILFORD ; Doris J. Haskell (Dolly) best known as "Ma Haskell" by all, passed peacefully in the company of her children Jan. 12, 2009, at the Lakes Region General Hospital. She will be joining her husband Paul E. Haskell Jr. who died in 1998.

Dolly was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Laconia to Paul P. and Rose (Picard) Belanger.

A longtime resident of Potter Hill Road in Gilford, she would always tell people "we live by the brook, drop on by anytime." "Ma" had just celebrated her 80th birthday. She always enjoyed riding her motorcycle, working in the yard and a good ol' hand of rummy. Anyone could stop by and she would make room at the table and "add more water to the pot."

"Ma Haskell" worked many years at the Laconia Needle Shop, and Scott & Williams before settling down to raise their four children: Sharon and her husband Skip of Eleuthera, Bahamas, Susan and her husband Eugene of Holderness, Linda and her husband Eric of Gilmanton and Paul Haskell III and his wife Debbie of Gilford. She leaves behind six grandchildren (Paul IV, Derrick, Aron, Cassidy, Molly and Jacob); as well as her siblings, Emile Belanger of Gilford, Leo Belanger of Laconia and Yvonne Chamberlain of Laconia. She will also be missed by all her nieces, nephews and special friends.

BELMONT �  Wendelyn 'Wendy' Rae Haskell, 52, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021, after a courageous, year-long battle with cancer.

Wendy was born on February 17, 1968 in Kittery, ME. She was a loving mother, nana, and wife to Jerry Wilson Haskell, whom she loved for 35 years.

She enjoyed spending time with family at York Beach and visiting Nubble Lighthouse. Camping, going to bingo with Jerry, fishing with her parents, and spending time at her grandparents' camp were some of her favorite past-times.

Wendy loved walking through an apple orchard on a crisp fall day and would not shy away from a cold Bud Light in the company of family and friends. She would give anything she had to help others in need.

Above all else, Wendy loved and dedicated her life to her family.

Wendy graduated from Laconia High School in 1986. She worked as a Licensed Nursing Assistant for 15 years and later for McDonald's and J. Jill.

Wendy and Jerry were blessed with seven daughters, Ashlea Haskell of Laconia, Allyson Edwards and her husband Dakota of Belmont, Aymme Haskell, Mariah Haskell, Marissa Haskell, and Maranda Haskell, all of Belmont. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Brandon, Bennett, and Willow of Belmont; brother, Douglas Neal and his wife Tracy of Meredith; sister, Patricia Morin and her husband Steven of Gilmanton; sister, Suzanne Sepulveda of Barnstead; and sister, Madeline McDonald and her husband John of Santa Clara, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her daughter Amanda Neal Haskell, her parents Arthur and Dorothy (MacLeod) Neal, and her sister, Becky Wimett.

FRANKLIN - Alice J. Fogg, 72, of Madison Street, died Monday at Franklin Hospital. She was born in Gilford, the daughter of Paul and Signe (Peterson) Haskell.

She worked as a waitress and in housekeeping and as an assembler for Webster Valve and for Hoyt Electric. She also worked as a stock room clerk at Franklin Hospital. Fogg loved cooking and embroidery.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Fogg of Franklin and Gordon Fogg of Massachusetts; three daughters, Lucy Woods of Sanbornton and Helen Fogg and Gail Fogg, both of Franklin; a brother, Alan Haskell of Laconia; two sisters, Pauline Penelton of Belmont and Elsie Robertson of Colorado; a grandson; and two great-grandsons.
