Connie Wegley Haskell, 83, of Laguna Woods, California, died March 30, 2016.

She was youngest of 13 children raised by Fred and Gladys Wegley in McPherson. After high school graduation, she moved to California to pursue a modeling career. She returned to McPherson, attended Kansas State University, and soon married John Rea. John's work took them to St. Louis and northern and southern California. In addition to raising their two children, Connie often worked as a secretary for various companies.

After John's death, Connie retired to Laguna Woods Village where she married Rich Haskell. They spent 13 wonderful years playing tennis and bridge, and traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; two children, Diane Morse and Greg Rea; and brother, Ben Wegley.

Richard G. Haas, 80, of Holland, formerly of Parchment, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001.

He was a graduate of New Trier High School, a 1942 graduate of Kalamazoo College and a graduate of the Chicago School of Meteorology. During WWII, he served the 15th U.S. Air Force in North Africa and Italy. He worked at the James River Co. for 39 years, retiring in 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Betty (Libby); son, Richard D. (Patricia) Haas of Bethesda, Md.; daughter, Helen A. Curran of Flint; three grandchildren; brother, David S. Haas of California; sister-in-law, Mary L. (David) Dillmand of Tuscon, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.

Patricia Ann DeCiccio, 84, of Ontario, passed away peacefully at home with family and friends at her side on February 28, 2015. She was born in Lola, Wisconsin on March 17, 1930, and graduated from Chaffey High School in 1948 and Chaffey College four years later.
She was preceded in death by her late husband of 56 years, Orland, her daughter, Elizabeth, her father and mother, Earl and Doris Roeder, her brother Russell, and her sisters Elsie and Marilyn.

She is survived by her sons, James of Ontario, CA and Gerald of Houston, TX, granddaughters Emily and Charlotte of Houston, TX, and grandson Joshua, of Ontario, CA.
Patricia retired from Pomona College in 1992 where she worked as a secretary. After retiring, she became an avid genealogist and was an active member of numerous genealogical societies.


Orland Albert DeCiccio

Obituary for Orland A. DeCiccio:
Orland A. DeCiccio, age 77, passed away August 13, 2005 at Kaiser Hospital in Fontana. He was born September 6, 1927 in Midland, PA and was an Inland Empire resident for 50 years.

Mr. DeCiccio was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He was alumni of Chaffey College and a member of their 1947 Championship Football Team. He was a graduate of San Jose State University. He worked as a manager at Kaiser Steel and California Steel, retiring after 50 years. He was a member and Past Master of Upland  Mt. Baldy Masonic Lodge #419 F. &A.M.; he was also a member of the San Bernardino Scottish Rite and the Royal Order of Scotland. He was a member and Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Upland #346 as well as the Al Malakah Shrine. He was a member and teacher for the AARP. He was also a member of the American Legion Post in Ontario.

Orland is survived by his wife of 56 years Patricia DeCiccio of Ontario; his children James (Madeline) DeCiccio of Ontario, Gerald (Audrey) DeCiccio of Laguna Hills, Elizabeth (John) Walker of Kent, WA; his siblings Edmund (Midge) DiCiccio of Midland, PA, Anthony (Nancy) DiCiccio of Beaver Falls, PA, Doreen LaValle of Industry, PA, Rita DiMarzio of Midland, PA and Louis (Saya) DiCiccio of Midland, PA; and his grandchildren Joshua, Emily, Charlotte and Bobbie; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Anna DiCiccio and siblings Ralph Bernabie and Carmella Granito.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 18, 2005 from 5 to 8 PM at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Ave. in Ontario. Service will take place Friday, August 19, 2005 at 10 AM at Draper Chapel. Interment will follow at Riverside National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Language Disorders Clinic at San Bernardino Scottish Rite and Upland-Mt. Baldy Masonic Youth Orders.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Draper Mortuary.

BUZZARDS BAY - James S. Haskell, 88, of Buzzards Bay, died Thursday at Sippican Healthcare Center after a brief illness.

He was the husband of Gladys E. (Harrison) Haskell.

Mr. Haskell was born in Auburn, Maine, and during his career lived in various parts of Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, while managing local Woolworth stores. He was the manager of Kmart in Hyannis for nine years. He retired to Buzzards Bay 16 years ago. He was also the proprietor of the Cape Cod Donut Shop in Mattapoisett.

Mr. Haskell was a member of the West Yarmouth Congregational Church. He was a member of Tranquil Masonic Lodge in Auburn, Maine, for 63 years. He enjoyed bowling. In his youth, he was an avid skier who represented Maine in skiing events in Canada, New England and Lake Placid, N.Y.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Edmund Haskell and Gilbert Haskell, both of Bryant Pond, Maine; a daughter, Barbara Haskell of Wareham; a stepdaughter, Carol Zaslona of Fairhaven; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He also was the father of the late James S. Haskell Jr.


Gladys E. Harrison

NEW BEDFORD  Gladys E. (Harrison) Haskell, 97, of Fairhaven, died November 12, 2016 peacefully at The Oaks Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late James S. Haskell.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Edward and Frances (Oaks) Harrison, she was raised in Matttapoisett and lived in Fairhaven for several years.

She was formerly employed as a hairdresser with her daughter Carol at Carol's Beauty Salon in Fairhaven until her retirement.

Gladys was a member of the Mattapoisett Grange and was awarded a prize for her flowers.

She enjoyed nature and the water. In her youth, she enjoyed horseback riding on Pico Beach and dancing at the Grange.

Her family would like to give a special thank you to Rachel, her CNA, for always making her look beautiful, the staff on Pinewood Unit at The Oaks Home for the kind and compassionate care shown to Gladys on her journey through dementia and Beacon Hospice.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Zaslona of Fairhaven; a brother, Joseph Harrison and his wife Edna of Mattapoisett; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Nancy Gross, James Harrison and Herbert Harrison.

James Spearrin Haskell Jr., 56, died Sunday of complications after a recent illness. He was born in Biddeford, a son of James S. and Ruth H. Haskell, he attended schools in Mattapoisett, Mass., and graduated from Fairhaven (Mass.) High School.

Mr. Haskell served in a Navy Special Forces unit and attended Rhode Island School of Design. He received a master's degree in landscape architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He received a Loeb Fellowship in advanced environmental and urban studies from Harvard in 1974 and a citation for meritorious service after 10 years as executive director of the Hancock County Regional Planning Commission.

Mr. Haskell was a town planner, code enforcement officer and community development director for Millinocket, a principal and owner of his land-use consulting firm, Jim Haskell and Associates, and a consulting planner for the town of Holden.

His graduate school thesis on ''Wildland Planning Issues in Maine'' led to his hiring as the first executive director of Maine's Land Use Regulation Commission. He drafted more than 85 percent of the language contained in the current Land Use Regulation Commission Statute.

His planning reports contributed to communities and agencies throughout Maine, served as guidelines for other professionals and lead to the creation of the Saco River Corridor Commission.

Surviving, besides his parents, are his wife of 14 years, Brenda Lunt Haskell; two daughters, Samantha Lee Haskell and Hannah Lea Haskell; two brothers, Edmund and Gilbert; a sister, Barbara Haskell; several nieces and nephews.
