She was born June 18, 1920 in Holland, OH to Charles & Myrtle (VanOrman) Taube. She was a 1938 graduate of Holland High School where she met and later married her husband Paul Reid. Shortly after the news that they were expecting their first child, Paul was called to serve our country in WWII so she moved in with her parents on their farm until Paul returned home to meet his son, Paul Jr.
They built a house in Holland, Ohio where they raised Paul Jr. and 13 years later they welcomed their son, Charles. No matter what time of the year she always had cookies stashed in her freezer whenever a visitor popped by. She was a fantastic cook and loved to bake. Whatever she made in the kitchen was a work of art, especially her pies. She could often be found at the library checking out books and particularly loved mysteries.
