CATHERINE L. WOODS, 84, of Ocean City, died Wednesday at Linwood Convalescent Center.

Mrs. Woods was a homemaker.

She was past president of the Indiana County, Pa., Medical Society Women's Auxiliary, past president of the Fortnightly Club and PTA, and a member of the Blairsville (Pa.) area school board.

Born in Philadelphia, she lived in Blairsville, before moving to Ocean City 15 years ago.

Surviving are a son, William of Ocean City and two grandchildren.

Santa Fe, N.M. - Memorial services for Frank S. Haskell, 88, of Santa Fe, formerly of Lynn and Nahant, will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Stephen's Memorial Episcopal Church, Lynn.

The husband of Frances M. (Breed) Haskell, he died Dec. 17 in St. Vincent's Hospital after being stricken ill. He was born in Lynn, son of the late Henry A. and Mary E. (Hall) Haskell, and was valedictorian of his Classical High graduating class.

After attending Dartmouth College, he joined the family's lumber business, FH Haskell Lumber Co. of Lynn, founded by his grandfather.

He was a 65 year member of Danascus Lodge of Masons, Lynn, the Lynn Rotary Club, American Civil Liberties Union, the Appalachian Mountain Club and the Folk Arts Center of New England. He enjoyed folk dancing and as a youth was a soprano solist at St. Stephen's Church. He moved to Santa Fe 14 years ago.

Mr. Haskell also leaves three sons, Henry B. Haskell of Spring, Texas, William S. Haskell of Marblehead and Joseph B.D. Haskell of Nahant; three daughters, Calista Green of Norwich, Conn., Susan Sohlberg of East Corinth, Vt., and Sylvia Tallman of Andover; a sister, Caroline H. Reeves of Naples, Fla.; 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery , Lynn.

FRANCES MORSE HASKELL, 96, died April 9, 2001 at home surrounded by her family and special friends. She was born in Lynn, MA Nov. 21, 2001. She was a long time resident  of Santa Fe. She was a folk dancer and avid gardener.

She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Frank Staniford Haskell.

She is survived by her six children; 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Virginia H. Drysdale, 84, of Kearsarge, died September 6, 1991 at the Clipper Home of North Conway, following a long illness. Born in Lynn, Mass., she had, lived in Lynnfield, Mass., many years prior to moving to Kearsarge in 1977. Prior to moving to Kearsarge she and her late husband, Ian S. Drysdale, had vacationed in the Mount Washington Valley since 1930.

While in Lynnfield she showed horses and dogs at various fairs and she was an avid golfer and skier.

Fifty years ago she was runner up at 'the Massachusetts State Golf Tournament. Mrs. Drysdale was an honorary, member of the North Conway Country Club and she worked many years with the handicap and tournament committee. She also was state representative for the New Hampshire Womens Golf Association and in 1978, at the age of 72, she got a hole-in-one on the 15th hole at the North Conway Country Club. Mrs. Drysdale was very active in,the ski world and was a former member of the board of directors at Mt. Cranmore, in North Conway. She also taught skiing, many years, with the Eastern Slope Ski Program.

The family includes her, brother, ,Frank S. Haskell of Santa Fe, New Mexico and another brother, William H. Haskell, predeceased her in 1984; her sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Caroline) Reeves of Osterville, Mass., and Napes, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in the Kearsarge Cemetery.

Hampton Falls, N.H. - William H. Haskell, 75, South Road, former Massachusetts state representative and former owner aof a Danvers lumber firm, died suddenly Sunday in Salem Hospital. He was the husband of Elsie M. (Russell) Haskell.

Born and educated in Lynn, son of the late Henry A. and Mary E. (Hall) Haskell, he resided in Marblehead for many years until moving to Hampton Falls seven years ago.

Mr. Haskell served as a representative from 1936 to 1940 for the 10th District, composed of three wards in Lynn plus Lynnfield and Saugus.

A Coast Gaurd veteran of World War II, he owned and operated the W.H. Haskell Lumber Co. in Danvers for many years before his retirement. He was an avid sports enthusiast and helped organize the Danvers Youth Hockey Association. Mr. Haskell was a member of the Philanthrophic Lodge of Masons in Marblehead, Americal Legion Post of Kensington, N.H., and was a past patron of Order of Eastern Star, Marblehead.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Virginia) Hudak and Elissa Haskell, both of Marblehead; two sons, William H. Haskell, Jr. of Marblehead and Frank R. Haskell of Lynnfield; two sisters, Mrs. Ian (Virginia) Drysdale of Kearsage, N.H. and Mrs. Kenneth (Caroline) Reeves of Melrose; one brother, Frank Haskell of Santa Fe, N.M.; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

MARBLEHEAD - Elsie M. (Russell) Haskell, age 88, wife of the late William H. Haskell, died early Thursday morning, January 17, 2013 at Grosvenor Park in Salem following a brief illness. Born in Marblehead she was the daughter of the late Fred and Carrie (O'Brien) Russell. She was raised in Marble-head and graduated from Marblehead High School in the class of 1942. She was a lifelong resident of the Town.

Elsie and her husband Bill were the owners of W.H. Haskell Lumber Company in Danvers for over 40 years. Elsie was the "Team Matriarch" of the Marblehead Maroon's All Star Hockey Teams which her husband coached and sons played during the 1960's. She and Bill took great pleasure when their children were young, filling their backyard with water in the winter, turning it into a skating rink and all the neighborhood kids learned to skate in the Haskell's backyard. She was always there with band aids and hot chocolate. She enjoyed playing golf for many years at the Exeter Country Club, Tedesco Country Club and The Tarpon Springs Country Club in Florida, where she wintered. She also loved Bingo and Cribbage at the Marblehead and Swampscott Senior Centers. She played a game of crib-bage with her granddaughter a day before her death.

Elsie took great pride in the Town of Marblehead and right to her last day, she enjoyed singing "Marblehead Forever". Mrs. Haskell was a Life Member of the Marblehead Chapter Order of the Eastern Star which consolidated with Victory Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Marblehead. Bill and Elsie served as Worthy Patron and Worthy Matron of the Chapter in 1955 to 1956.

Surviving her are her four children, William "Skip" Haskell and his wife Carol and their children Ben and Whitney of Marblehead; Frank Haskell and his wife Gwen and their children Justin and Sarah of Lynnfield; Virginia "Ginny" Hudak and her husband Larry and their children Erik and Emily and her husband Jason Ries of Marble-head; and Elissa Ronan and her husband Michael and their children Elsie and Evelyn of Swampscott; her brother, Donald Russell of Florida and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Carrie Vent, James, Kenneth, Eugene, Ruth Parker, Fred, Manley, June Gottlich, and Robert Russell.

She was the wife of Ken Reeves for 60 years.

Mrs. Reeves was born in Lynn and was a graduate of Wakefield High School and Burdette College.

After her marriage she lived in Melrose for many years. She was active in the Rainbow Girls and Tri-Hi-Y, and was a Brownie leader. Her interests included obedience dog training, horseback riding, golf, skiing and bridge. She was a member of Cummaquid Golf Club and of High Point Country Club in Naples.

Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Reeves of Bonita Springs and Osterville; and many nieces and nephews.

Elinor Schlosser Jordan, 95, of Kingsford, formerly of Grand Rapids, MI died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.

Elinor Schlosser Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York, May 21, 1918, the second daughter of Ralph and Caroline (Haskell) Brown.

She graduated from Scudder School of Business in New York City and worked as an executive secretary for Standard Oil Company there and Kaiser-Hughes Aircraft in California. Elinor joined the American Red Cross Military Welfare Service during World War II and was stationed in England as a "doughnut Dollie" working on a clubmobile providing doughnuts, coffee and news from home to the American GI's.

While there, on a hospital sunshine visit, she met patient First Lieutenant Kenneth E. Schlosser. The couple married in 1946.

Elinor married William Jordan in 1975. In Grand Rapids, her home for 63 years,

Elinor worked for Union Bank and Trust Co. and Warner, Norcross & Judd law firm. She also owned and operated her own greenhouse and flower/plant business. In Grand Rapids Elinor was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, R.S.V.P. and was a past president of ABWA. She participated in her church's Christ Care group and sang and acted with the Curtain Time Players and a seniors' improv troupe well into her 80's. She loved her family and friends and will be remembered for her pretty smile, her generous spirit, and her joie de vivre.

She is survived by her children David Schlosser of Grand Junction, CO and Roberta Santoni of Iron Mountain, MI, six grandchildren: Mario (Brynn) Santoni, Anthony (Annie) Santoni, Ami (Michael) Schlosser-Engelhart, Alexa Schlosser, and Sean and David Gill, ten great grandchildren, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Elinor was preceded in death by Kenneth and William, her son Paul, her sister, Elizabeth Moyer, and her beloved brother Edmund F. Brown.

LAKESIDE - Edmund Franklyn Brown, 89, of Lakeside, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012, at Woodland Terrace, Bridgman. Edmund was born on December 9, 1922, in Linwood, New York, to Ralph Warren Brown and Caroline Haskell.

He served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army Air Force as a second lieutenant, serving as a navigator bombardier. After the service, Edmund attended the University of Arizona where he met the mother of his children, Joan Yeager. He then graduated from Notre Dame University. He was a general partner of Yeager Brown Buick in South Bend for 30 years. He was a member of the South Bend Rotary Club for 30 years, the founding president of the Lakeside Association, a reserve deputy sheriff in St. Joseph County, Indiana, a Son of the American Revolution, and a member of the Free Masons. He was also a former member of the Red Cross in Bellaire, MI, and a church elder of the Alden Methodist Church. Edmund loved to cook, garden and shop. He especially loved animals.
He is survived by seven children, Charles Clark Brown of Lakeside, MI, Edmund (Terry) Freeman Brown of Charleston, South Carolina, Anne (Gary) Fahrenbach of Wilmette, IL, Henry Haskell Brown of South Bend, IN, Andrew Breed (Mary) Brown of Lakeside, MI, Catherine Helen Brown (Charles) Lawrence of Compton, England, and Joshua Thomas Brown of Dunwoody, GA; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Elinor Jordan of Iron Mountain, MI.
According to Edmund's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the River Valley Senior Center.
