November 21, 1938The death of Charles B. Godsoe, 81, occurred Saturday evening at his residence, 28 Fern street. He was born in Hudson, son of Ailliam and Matilda Abbee Godsoe, and retired two years ago from long service with the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad, in the shops at Derby,
Hwas a member of the Baskehgan lodge, F. and A. M. of Danforth.
Surviving are his wide, Mrs. Olivia Morse Godsoe; a son, A. Burr Godsoe of Hampden; a daughter, Mrs Thelma G. Bowles of Banor, two grandchildren, Shirley H. and Homer Godsoe of Hampden, a nephew Walter H. Godsoe of Bangor and a niece, Mrs. Caroline H. Fulton of Hartford, Conn.
Dr. Edward E. Haskell, engaged in the practice of medicine and surgery in Windsor, was born in Nashville, Tennessee, in March, 1879, a son of Edward and Lenora (Lawson) Haskell, who were natives of Maine. The father was a lumberman who followed that business in northern Minnesota for a number of years. He passed away in May, 1896, but his widow is still living.
Their son. Dr. Edward E. Haskell, was reared and educated in Minneapolis. He attended the high school and atterward continued his studies in the State University of Minnesota, from which he was graduated with the class of 1900. Later he became a student in the
University of Colorado and completed his course as one of the alumni of 1913. He had come to Colorado in 1900 and was interested in mining for nine years, traveling all over the west in that connection. At length, however, he determined to take up the practice of medicine and surgery and with that end in view became a student in the medical department of the University of Colorado and completed his course as previously indicated. Following his graduation he opened an office in Windsor, Weld county, in 1913 and has practiced there continuously since. He was formerly a partner of Dr. Raymond but the latter ultimately retired from practice and in 1915 Dr. Haskell of this review entered into artnership with Dr. Nelson, with whom he has since been associated. They have their offices in the Windsor Hospital. Dr. Haskell is a man of recognized professional ability, keeping in touch at all times with the most advanced thought bearing upon the treatment of disease. He is
very careful in the diagnosis of his cases and his skill has found public recognition in an extensive and growing practice. He belongs to the American Medical Association, the Colorado State Medical Society and the Weld County Medical Society. Aside from his practice he has mining interests in Wyoming.Dr. Haskell was united in marriage to Miss Lucille Naylor and to them have been born three children: Donald, Marjorie, and Isabelle. The parents hold membership in the Episcopal church and Dr. Haskell is identified also with the Knights of Pythias and the Woodmen of the World. His political endorsement is given to the republican party and he has served as town trustee for four years, while he and Dr. Nelson have continuously acted as health officers of Windsor. Dr. Haskell is very conscientious in the performance of all of his professional duties and is most careful to conform his practice to the highest professional

July 30, 2009Elizabeth H. Lindberg, 85, of Bradenton, passed away July 24, 2009, after a period of declining health. She was born August 3, 1923, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Col. James B. and Marjorie Haskell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Paul S. (Lindy) LIndberg and sister Marjorie Winn. Both the daughter and wife of career Army officers,
Libby saw the world, having traveled abroad while living in Panama, Japan, Germany as well as all over the United States. She was an avid golfer and loved swimming, painting, tennis, animals, traveling and cruises.
She leaves behind her son Doug, his wife Jeanne and grandchildren; Leah, Erik and Keriann.

James Thomas Hegland was born on May 19, 1927 in Kragero Township, Chippewa County to Nels T. and Thelma S. Mikkelson Hegland.
He attended country school through eighth grade and graduated Appleton High School in 1945.James attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Soil Science in 1950. He was part of a group of young men who initiated the Farm House Fraternity Chapter on the University of Minnesota Campus.James taught Veterans Agriculture in Trimont, MN until he was drafted into the Army in January of 1951, and served until 1953.
In 1954, James married Phyllis Haskell.
The couple moved to Ortonville where James was the first US Soil Conservation Representative assigned to Big Stone County to assist the Soil Conservation District. Starting in January 1957, the couple spent three years in Tehran, Iran where James was an advisor to the Shah of Iran in an agricultural community development project.James and Phyllis returned to the USA in 1960, and he completed a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1962. They moved back to rural Appleton and James took over the family farm - and loved every day of farm life.James was a life-long member of Minnesota Valley Lutheran Church and served on the Boards of Directors for Pioneer Public Television, the Minnesota Corn Growers Association, the Minnesota Soy Bean Growers Association, and the Irrigators Association of Minnesota. He enjoyed his family, his friends, and the wildlife in his neighborhood.
James died on November 8, 2009, at the age of 82 years and 5 months.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis, four children - Jon of Minneapolis, Jane (and Steve Will) of Brookings SD, Mary (and Dan Gusaas) of Alexandria, and Ed (and Dawn) of Appleton, and six grandchildren - Anna, Dalton, and Lydia Gusaas and Grace, Evan, and Elias Hegland, one sister - Verna (and Cecil) Bahl of Faribault, one brother-in-law, Verner E. Johnson, of Benson, and seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Alfrieda Johnson.

ORRINGTON � Worth Langton Noyes, 101, husband of the late Sarah (Stinchfield) Noyes, died at a local nursing home, July 11, 2006, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Feb. 4, 1905, in Danforth, the youngest son of Charles E. and Jennie (Cain) Noyes.
He attended elementary school in Topsfield and graduated from Lee Academy before receiving a bachelor of science in forestry from the University of Maine in 1929, and a bachelor of science in education from New York University. He was an avid distance runner throughout his high school and collegiate years, being a member of the winning New England cross-country team of 1929. Worth was a great lover of the outdoors and truly enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, climbing Mount Katahdin and just traveling throughout northern Maine, Canada and cross-country trips to visit his family in California. His greatest joy was gardening at his home on the Main Road in Orrington, where he could be found throughout the planting harvesting season. Worth was a well-known and respected educator for 42 years. He taught mathematics in Stetson, Patten, Glastonbury, Conn., Independence, Calif. and Bangor. He also was principal of Brownville Junction High School and from 1950 to 1971 was head of the mathematics department in the Bangor school system. Worth was a past president of the Bangor Teachers Club, Orrington School Board and Orrington PTA. He was an honorary deacon and long-time treasurer of the Universalist Church of Bangor, a member of the East Orrington Congregational Church and a 65-year member of Katahdin Lodge No. 156 of Patten. Worth was the oldest living member of the Phi Eta Kappa Fraternity and a recipient of the Boston Post Cane for the town of Orrington. Worth was a quiet, gentle man who worked happily among us in many capacities; volunteering at Bangor Mental Health Institute, delivering "Meals for Me" to the homebound, co-ordinating elder hostels at Hersey Retreat and researching and compiling the genealogy of the Noyes clan.
Surviving are his six children, Worth Noyes Jr. and wife, Lee, of Ventura, Calif., Jean Hannah and Ed Parrish of La Verne, Calif., Mollie Noyes and husband, Jim Miller, of Belfast, Michael Noyes and his friend, Beverly Gray, of Bangor, Jennifer Noyes of Albuquerque, N.M. and Melanie Noyes of Orrington; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Sarah in March of this year; two daughters, Janice Beggs of Snellville, Ga. and Mary Jane Noyes of Bangor; a grandson, Charles Hannah of La Verne, Calif.; two brothers, William of Albion and Phillip of Orrington; and one sister, Lucretia MacNichol of Kenduskeag.

ORRINGTON and BANGOR � Sarah (Stinchfield) Noyes, 87, wife of Worth L. Noyes, died March 13, 2006, at a Bangor healthcare facility.
She was born July 4, 1918, in Bangor, the daughter of Eben and Mollie (Gilpatrick) Stinchfield.
She was a graduate of Bangor High School, EMMC School of Nursing and Boston University School of Education. Mrs. Noyes was director of the Red Cross Blood Mobile during the Korean War traveling by train throughout Maine. Sarah held many nursing positions in the Bangor area some of which include being an instructor at Eastern Maine General Hospital, director of Public Health Nursing of Bangor and spent many years in private duty nursing. She was also an officer and member of Husson College E.M.M.C. Nursing Alumni Association. Sarah enjoyed a life time of involvement at Hersey Retreat starting as a child attending church camp to hosting family reunions with her husband and concluding as a host of Elder Hostel. She was a member of the East Orrington Congregational Church and a former member of the First Universalist Church, Bangor and former honorary deacon and president of the Association of Universalist Women; member of the three T's of the E.O.C.C. Mrs. Noyes was treasurer and former president of the Nurses Alumni Association, a former member of the American Nurses Association and was Alpha Laureate of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a charter member of the Milwee Chapter O.E.S. No. 198 of Orrington. Mrs. Noyes was one of the 1990 Jefferson Award winners honoring her lifetime of caring for others.In addition to her husband of 58 years; are four children, Mollie Noyes and her husband, Jim Miller, of Belfast, Michael Noyes of Orrington, Jennifer Noyes of Albuquerque, N.M. and Melanie Noyes of Orrington; one stepdaughter, Jean Hannah of Laverne, Calif.; one stepson, Worth Noyes Jr. of Ventura, Calif.; one brother, Eben Stinchfield and his wife, Helen, of Bangor; four grandchildren, Jozlyn and Christopher Noyes of Orrington, Lucretia and Levi Miller of Belfast. In addition she loved her stepgrandchildren as her own, they are Judi, Jamie, Jenny, Heather, Tracy, Randall, Michael, Chris; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Jane; two brothers, Paul and Eugene Stinchfield; her grandson, Charles Hannah; and her stepdaughter, Janice Beggs.
