WEST FRANKFORT - Charles Edward Campbell, 74, of 196 Old Marion Road died at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1996, in Herrin Hospital.

Mr. Campbell retired in 1974 after 30 years in the Army. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was born March 3, 1921, in Alabama to James and Anna (Haskell) Campbell.

Survivors include his wife, Velma Bernice Wade Campbell of West Frankfort; one daughter, Kathy Vaughn of West Frankfort; one grandson, Ronald Vaughn of Granite City; one brother, Micky of Las Vegas; and two sister, Alice and Kay, both of Las Vegas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Bill Garner; sister, Judith Russell; and two brothers, James "Butch" and David Campbell.

Surviving are her husband, Ronnie L. Vaughn; son, Ronald (Barbara) Vaughn; nephews and niece, Tony, Scott, Jeff Russell, Diana Dillon and families; special cousin, Henry Vaughn; and special friends, Ron and Sylvia Copher.

Michael "Mickey" Campbell, 71, died Monday in a Henderson hospital. He was born June 12, 1928, in West Frankfort, Ill. A Navy veteran, he was a retired automobile mechanic and a 31-year resident of Henderson.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughters, Sandi Scott, Cheri Kehoe, Patti Batemon and Michelle Adcox, all of Henderson, and Barbara Arnone of Las Vegas; sons, John of Reno, Jim and Mark, both of Henderson; sisters, Kay Vellis and Alice Millikan, both of Las Vegas; 22 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Charlotte L. Campbell, 78, a homemaker, of Henderson, passed peacefully June 20, 2010. Charlotte was born in Cincinnati, Aug. 31, 1931, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell Parker Chatfield Jr.

She moved to Chicago in 1946. In 1949, she met the love of her life, Michael W. Campbell. They were together for 50 years. Michael, who was Mickey to all who knew him, passed in December 1999.

Together they had eight children, John Campbell and his wife, Beth, of Reno, Sandra Scott and her husband, Randy, Cheri Kehoe and her husband, Buddy, Michelle Adcox and her husband, Mel, and Patti Batemon and her husband, Fred, all of Henderson, Barbara Arnone and her husband, Mike, of Las Vegas, James Campbell of Ogden, Utah, and Mark Campbell of St. George, Utah; 22 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Charlotte was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother, loved by everyone who knew her and will be forever missed ... but she will live in our hearts forever.

Alice Lorene Millikan, 68, of Las Vegas, passed away May 14, 2006. She was born in West Frankfort, Ill., and was a resident of Las Vegas for 40 years.

She moved to Pahrump, with her daughter over three months ago and was a resident of Evergreen at Pahrump Health and Rehabilitation home before passing away. Alice was a manicurist and hotel reservations clerk, before retiring. She was a member of St. Anne's Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Millikan of Las Vegas; parents, James and Anna Campbell of Illinois; six brothers, James, Thomas, Charles and John, all of Illinois, Michael and Bruce Campbell of Las Vegas; and sister, Anna Marie Andriacchi of Las Vegas.

She is survived by her only sister, Kay Vellis of Las Vegas; and four daughters, Dana Cordani, Jacklyn Kennedy, Kristine Lyons of Las Vegas, Melanie Falangas of Pahrump. Alice had eight grandchildren, Mark and Jennifer Walston, Breanna and Brian Arnett, Keith and Ann Marie Lyons, Jack and Joseph Schroeder.

Her children and grandchildren were truly the love of her life. Alice will always be loved, missed and never forgotten.

Jack Lee Millikan, 65, of Las Vegas, passed away at home Friday, Jan. 16, 2004. He was born July 3, 1938 in Benton, Ill. and was a resident of Las Vegas for 40 years.

He was a retired valet parking attendant for 40 years and a member of Teamsters Local #995. He enjoyed sports, golf, fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Irene Millikan; and his sister, Patsy Connors.

Jack is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice Millikan; daughters, Dana Cordon, Jacklyn Kennedy, Melanie Falangas and Kristine Lyons, all of Las Vegas; his grandchildren, Mark Walston, Jennifer Walston, Jack Schroeder, Joseph Schroeder, Breanna Arnett, Brian Arnett, Keith Lyons and Ann Marie Lyons; his brother, Bill Millikan of Tennessee; and sister, Jean Ann Phillips of Illinois.

Ruth E. Haskell, 86, of Jacksonville, died Monday evening, Aug. 12, 2013, at Capitol Care Center in Springfield.

She was born Oct. 16, 1926, in White Hall, the daughter of Ernest Karol and Goldie Ella Cumby Moore.

She is survived by one son, Joe (wife, Nancy) Haskell of Ashland, Mo.; two grandchildren, Mikka (husband, Aaron) Libbert of Ashland, Mo., and Derek (wife, Heather) Haskell of New Bloomfield, Mo., and four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Abby Munoz, Colten Haskell and Jameson Haskell, who was born the same day Ms. Haskell passed. She was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Eugene Moore; and two sisters, Hazel Cain and Louise Sanders Pruitt.

Ms. Haskell was employed at Capitol Records/EMI in Jacksonville for many years, retiring in 1995. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the VFW Post 1379 Ladies Auxiliary. Ms. Haskell enjoyed visiting the park and going to garage sales, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Jeff (Jody) Haskell and Penny (Colby) Eilers both of White Hall and Joe (Nancy) Haskell of Ashland, MO; 7 grandchildren, Molly Haskell, Marisa Haskell, Jacob Haskell, Maza Eilers, Cayden Eilers, Mikka (Aaron) Libbert, Derek (Heather) Haskell; 4 great grandchildren, Tyler, Abby, Colten, and Jamison; her brother, Eddie Overby of Pleasant Plains and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Hal Ray Overby and William Overby.

Sharon had been employed at Greene County Manufacturing (The Dress Factory) in White Hall for many years and later co-owned Joyce Elaine Garments in Pittsfield. She worked at Jack's Auto Clinic in Jacksonville at the time of her retirement. Sharon was a member of the White Hall First Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and fishing. She loved camping and spending time on the river.

Fern M. Towe was born Jan. 6, 1910, in Kansas.

She had been a longtime resident of Azle and moved to Colorado to live with her daughter when her health began to decline in 1995. She was the widow of the late James R. Towe.

He was born in Salem, MA and was the cherished son of the late Donald and Doris (Parker) Haskell.

In addition to his wife, Darrell is survived by his daughters, Melissa Ambrose and her husband, Daniel, Stacy Reilly and her husband George, Carrie Haskell and Sarah Haskell; his grandchildren, Daniel Ambrose Jr., Meghan Ambrose, Jared Poretta, Zak Poretta, Delaney Blair, Jack White, Gabriel Reilly, Taylor Reilly and Chelsie Reilly; his two great-grandchildren Charlie Geary and Leona Connolly; his brothers, Donald Haskell and his wife, Evon and Dwight Haskell and his wife, Wanda.

Sadly, in addition to his parents, Darrell was predeceased by his sister, Doreen Hamilton.

Mr. Wood was born August 14, 1928 in Lynn, Massachusetts. He began working at Sears when the store was brand new to Panama City until his retirement. After his retirement from Sears he became a deputy with the Bay County Sheriff Department until he retired a second time. Mr. Wood was a Mason of Acme Lodge #222 where he received a 64 year pin and a member of the Shaddai Shriner Temple.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas G. and Alice Wood and his first wife, Carolyn C. Wood.

Mr. Wood leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Ruth Wood; a daughter, Lynn Williams (Richard); stepdaughters, Greta O'Dell (Eric), Shannon Barfield; Grandchildren, Ashley Pietro (Tommy), Brian Williams (Amanda); step grandchildren, Christopher Beard, Rhiannon Beard, Helen O'Dell, Elizabeth O'Dell; one great grandchild, Tyler Pietro; plus many other extended family.

James D. McCarriston, 79, of Swampscott, died on April 3, 2009, at NSMC Salem Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Alice (Wood) McCarriston.

He was born in Boston, the son of the late James J. and Katherine (McDonald) McCarriston.

He was raised in Danvers and Lynn and attended Lynn schools. He had lived in Swampscott since the 1950s.

Mr. McCarriston was an Army veteran of World War II. He served as a radio operator with the 101st Airborne Division. He received the Army Occupation of Japan medal.

Mr. McCarriston was a Mason and belonged to the Philanthropic Lodge F. & A.M. in Marblehead. He was also a member of Shrine. He was affiliated with the Order of Eastern Star. Mr. McCarriston was a member of the Church of the Holy Name in Swampscott. He was a member of the North Shore Old Car Club, a member of the Profile Auto League and the Lars Anderson Museum of Transportation. Mr. McCarriston was also a member of the Swampscott Auxiliary Police. He was a devoted, loving, hardworking and often stubborn man.

He was employed as a master plumber and steamfitter for the General Electric Co. He retired in 1995 after 18 years of service. Prior to his service with General Electric, Mr. McCarriston was a self-employed plumber.

He is survived by three sons, Thomas J. McCarriston and his wife, Cheryl, of Wolfeboro, N.H., Sgt. Richard D. McCarriston, Swampscott Police and his wife, Christine, of Marblehead, and Allen D. McCarriston and his wife, Donna, of Danvers; a daughter, Jamie L. Horgan and her husband, Michael, of Stoneham.

He was the grandfather of April, Shanna, Jenna, Jimmy, Dillon, Tucker and Kolby.

He also leaves his devoted friend and companion, Marion Stone of Salem.

WOOD, Wiley Thomas 75, of Enon, Ohio passed away Saturday, August 22, in Hospice of Dayton. Wiley donated his body to Wright State University's School of Medicine, Dayton, Ohio.

He was born in Lynn, MA on February 27, 1934, the son of the late Thomas and Alice (Haskell-Wood- Drown). Wiley was a 1951 graduate of Winthrop High School, Winthrop, MA. He was a page in the Massachusetts State House from 1951-1952. He served in the Army Security Agency from 1956-1959. He attended Boston University for two years. He graduated with honors from California State University, Sacramento. Wiley retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 1987 as a Programs Analyst.

He is survived by his wife Eleanor, whom he married on September 1, 1957. He is also survived by two children and spouse, Robert and Sue Wood of Tipp City, Ohio; and Rebecca Wood of Springfield, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Shannon Wood of Tipp City, Ohio. He is also survived by a brother, William Wood.

He was preceded in death by his brother Walter Wood of Lima, Ohio.

Allan N. Teele, age 86, passed away peacefully in Corvallis, OR on June 28, 2020.

Allan was born on May 31, 1934 in Salem, Mass. to Eli and Mildred (Haskell) Teele. He spent his childhood in Salem, and he graduated from Holderness School in New Hampshire. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant in 1981.

Allan was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was also a member of the Non-Commissioned Officers Association and the Church of the Resurrection. He was an avid sports fan. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Allan was preceded in death by his father and mother, his stepmother Elizabeth Teele and his beloved wife of 20 years, Rose Bugg Teele.

He is survived by his children, Michael Teele (wife, Trish) of El Paso, TX, Lorie Bridges (husband, David) of Garrard County, KY, and Suzie Burns (husband, Dan) of Corvallis, OR; his step-daughter, Deborah Norman of Harrodsburg, KY; his sister, Linda Coddens of Danvers, Mass.; 4 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 3 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
