May 11, 1953Howard Nichols Haskell, 75, of 35 Wibird St., a resident of Portsmouth fo more than 50 years, died this morning in a local convalescent home.
A retired construction engineer, he was born in Meerimac, Mass., July 29, 1877, the son of Horace W. and Margaret Nichols Haskell.
Mr. Haskell was a member of St. John's Church and belonged to St. John's Lodge, A&FM, for 53 years. He was a member of Warwick Club and belonged to the Trenton, Mass., Lodge of Elks.
Survivors include two sons, W. Horace Haskell and Woodbury L. Haskell; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth H. Voudy, all of Portsmouth; a brother, Willam Haskell of Scarsdale, N.Y., and several nephews.

February 3, 1992Portsmouth - Marion E. Haskell, 78, of 41 Wilbird St., died Feb. 3, 1992 in Portsmouth Regional Hospital. She was born in Portsmouth and graduated from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in 1936. Prior to her retirement in 1976, Mrs. Haskell was employed by the Portsmouth Visiting Nurses Association as a registered nurse.
She was the widow of Woodbury L. Haskell, Sr. The family includes two sons, George H. Haskell and Woodbury L. Haskell, Jr., both of Portsmouth; a daughter, Cynthia Tonkin of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Glen Rock - Patricia W. (Woodman) Sage, age 96, of Glen Rock, NJ passed away on April 13, 2019. Born in Decatur, IL, she grew up in Brooklyn, NY and Radburn, NJ. She was a Ridgewood High School graduate and proudly served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. She and her family also lived in New Hampshire before settling in Glen Rock in 1955.
Mrs. Sage was a secretary with Borden Chemical, Inc in Fair Lawn for 23 years. Upon retirement, she was active as a volunteer with Community Meals in Ridgewood and the Christ Church Knitters "The Needlers", knitting for the benefit of the Seamen's Church Institute's Christmas at Sea Program. Through the years, Patti remained active in many high school reunions and get-togethers with local classmates. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed knitting, playing Bridge, crossword puzzles and gathering with friends and family.
Beloved wife of the late Lawrence H. Sage. Loving and devoted mother of Steven L. Sage, (Linda) Sage Neighbors and husband Jim, Diane Sage and spouse Sharon Edwards. Cherished grandmother of Stacie Dolin-Houston and husband Dale. In addition, "Mert" will be missed by her loving "adopted" families and grandchildren.

December 5, 2004ORLEANS - Charlotte (Haskell) Whitcomb, 90, a 25-year resident of Orleans, died Nov. 28 at Pleasant Bay Nursing Home, Brewster.
She was the wife of Henry Blaisdell Whitcomb, who died in 2002. They were married 66 years.
Mrs. Whitcomb was born in Merrimacport and graduated from Merrimac High School in 1932 and Salem Hospital School of Nursing in 1936. She worked at Fort Devens until 1940 and was subsequently a Red Cross volunteer until 1977. She enjoyed gardening and reading and was a Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader. She was involved in church-related family and youth-group activities.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Whitcomb of Orleans; a daughter, Martha Crowninshield of Boston; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

July 10, 2008Ruth Helen (MacLean) Morse, 89, a longtime resident of Mel-rose, died July 3, 2008, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine, after a long and courageous struggle. She was the wife of the late Thomas Morse.
A graduate of Medford High School, Mrs. Morse was a former teacher, coach and administrator in the Winchester public schools. She had been the secretary to the vice president at American Mutual Co. in Wakefield before retiring in the 1980s.
For many years after her husband died, Mrs. Morse traveled with her sister, brother-in-law and dear friends. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.
Until the end, she retained her wonderful sense of humor, with a twinkle in her eye and a thank you to everyone.
She was predeceased by her two sisters, Thelma Crossman and Audrey Fraser of Melrose.
She leaves three children, Judy Smith and her husband, Mark, of Woolwich, Maine, Coline Morse of New York City, and Thomas Morse and his wife, Caroline, of Melrose; and seven grandchildren, Steven and his wife, Alisa Smith, of Wiscasset, Maine, Kristen and Glenn Walling of Hopkinton, N.H., Joshua and Jenn Chenoweth of Port Angeles, Wash., Satya Buch and her fiancé, Harold Chaves, Misha Morse-Buch and his wife, Evija, all of New York City, and Tommy and Jenna Morse of Melrose. She also leaves five great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Sammy, Jacob, Clara and Lola, and several nieces and nephews, whose love, laughter and support kept everyone going through this long journey.

May 18, 2009Elizabeth (Dexter) Snow, 94, of Salem, beloved wife of the late George H. Snow, died May 17, 2009, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in South Boston, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Ella (Gilliland) Dexter. She was raised and educated in South Boston.
Mrs. Snow had been employed by the GTE Sylvania Co., at its Loring Avenue facility in Salem, for more than 22 years, prior to the time of her retirement.
She had been a longtime active communicant of St. James Parish. She was a member of the St. James Social Lights and the St. James Knitting Club.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Snow is survived by her two sons, George Snow and his wife, Claudia L., of Danvers and William Snow and his wife, Christine, of Amesbury; her grandchildren, Lorraine Nobil, Andrew Snow, Elizabeth Ambrose, Kathleen Gustafson; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

July 9, 2004Sidney Lewis Feener died Monday, July 5, 2004. He was 93.
Mr. Feener was born in Gloucester, Mass., and lived in San Leandro for 49 years.
He moved to San Leandro in 1955 as a plant manager of Maxwell House division of General Foods for 21 years, after having worked for General Foods for 25 years prior, family said. He was a past president of the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club and the San Leandro Manufacturers Association. He was also a member of the Washington Manor Lions Club. He was a member of the San Leandro Boys Club and a 50-year member of the Institute of Food Technologists.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Feener of San Leandro; his sons, Arnold D. Feener and Timothy Feener; his brothers, Richard Feener and Roger Feener, both of Massaschusetts; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

March 13, 2012Charles V. McIntosh, age 98 of Salt Island Road, died March 9, 2012 following a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Jane J. (Adamowicz) McIntosh who died in 1983. They were married in 1939. Charles was born in Gloucester on February 19, 1914 to the late Mary B. Moody and George Clark McIntosh.
He was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1933. In his working years, "Charlie", as he was know to many, was a skilled carpenter in the Gloucester area and built and remodeled many homes on Cape Ann during his lifetime. Charlie was a volunteer for twelve and a half years for the Meals on Wheels in Gloucester after his retirement and totally enjoyed his efforts to help others. He will best be remembered for his love of the Gloucester High School Athletic Teams, their achievements and championships. In 1965 Charlie accompanied the GHS Hockey Team to Lake Placid, NY which became one of his fondest memories.
He is survived by four daughters, Sandra Kelley of Bradenton, FL, Mary Ann Urella and her husband Michael of Worcester, MA, Kathleen and Theresa McIntosh of Gloucester and his dear daughter #5, Roberta Seppala of Lanesville. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grand children and by many devoted friends.
Charlie was predeceased by his dear friend and companion Phyllis Downing of Gloucester.
