Mrs. Haskell was born Irene Conway in Denver on Oct. 8, 1906. She married Charles Haskell, 1934. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cherry Hills Country Club.
Survivors include sons Roger of New York, Charles and Daniel, both of Englewood, Russell of Denver; daughters Dana Patton of New York, Jenean of Washington, D.C.; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild.

Charles A. Haskell II (b. May 2, 1937) of Englewood, Colorado, died peacefully on December 8, 2016, at the age of 79. Charles was the second eldest son of the late Charles and Irene Haskell. He attended Regis High School and after serving in the United States Marine Corps, returned to Denver and received his B.S.B.A. degree in Accounting from the University of Denver. After beginning his professional career as a CPA with Price Waterhouse in New York, he returned to his native Denver and took a position with the brokerage firm of Bosworth & Sullivan. This new career would span five decades of changes and mergers in the firm but never in his wavering of providing sound investment advice for his clients. He retired as vice president and investment officer of RBC Wealth Management in 2012.

Among Chuck's outside interests were car racing and golf. He appreciated vintage cars having been the proud owner of a 1939 Ford and a 1947 Lincoln. He made pilgrimages to the "Indy 500" for many years, most recently with his son, Stephen, and grandson, Ryan. He was a close follower of the NASCAR standings.

Chuck was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Cherry Hills Country Club. He also loved Coronado Island in the San Diego area and in his later years he would spend the month of February there golfing and hosting his many visitors.

Chuck's loyalty and generosity to family, friends and church were well known. He was always available for advice and a helping hand. His alma maters, Regis High School and the University of Denver, have also benefited from his generosity.

Immediate survivors include his children, Kate (Alan Regimbal) of Bellingham, WA, and Stephen (Stacy) of Littleton, his five grandchildren, Grant, Sophia, Gabriel, Elle and Ryan as well as siblings Roger (Maryann) of Scotia, NY, Russell (Sue) of Denver, Daniel (Marcy) of Englewood, Dana Patton of New York City and Jenean Jones of Silver Spring, MD. Also surviving is his former wife Sheila Dick Haskell of Littleton.

Haskell, Mildred 'Millie' (nee Sample) 92, of Lake Bluff, died December 22, 2014 at home with her family by her side. She was born to the late Walter and Mildred McLaughlin Sample on August 23, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Millie graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School in 1940. On February 4, 1944, she married Leslie Calvin Haskell. They moved to Waukegan in 1945 where she joined the Women of the Moose, became Senior Regent, and formed lasting friendships. She took up bowling in the 1950's and continued to bowl well into her 80's, never missing a chance to travel the country for the annual Women's International Bowling Congress tournaments. Around this time, she also joined the choir at Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan. She loved music, especially opera and Broadway show tunes. Millie worked in many restaurants, eventually finding a permanent place in the restaurant of the Waukegan Inn, now known as the Ramada Inn. Through its myriad transformations, Millie was the one constant and many people became regulars because she had a way of making everyone who walked through the door feel special. She worked there for 40 years, filling every role including waitress, hostess, dining room manager, and bookkeeper. In her free time, Millie loved to travel with family and friends. She'd visited almost every state in the U.S. and had gone to Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, and Sweden. She enjoyed horse racing and casinos. Millie always looked forward to planting spring flowers in her garden.
Millie was preceded in death by her husband in 1985; son-in-law, Dixon (Dick) King in 1995; and daughter, Leslie Chapman on May 16, 2014.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn King of Virginia Beach, VA and Patricia Strahan of Lake Bluff; five grandchildren, Robin (Carl) Larsson, Jamey (Norma) Jones, Jason (Marissa) King, Jillian Chapman, and Erin Strahan; four great-grandchildren, Devin, Sierra, and Corrin King, and Chris Qashat. She is also survived by son-in-law, Richard Chapman; and daughter-in-law, Diane Scott.


Roy Vinten Bowker

Services for Roy Vinten Bowker, 63, 112 17th St. N. , Grat Falls realtor who died Friday evening at his ranch 25 miles northwest of Lewistown after suffering an apparent heart attack, will be at the Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home Monday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Richard L. Turner will officiate.

Great Falls Lodge 118 AF&AM will conduct the ritual at the funeral home. Military honors by the American legion will be at gravesite. Burial will be in the family plot in Highland Cemetery.

Bowker, who operated Bowker Real Estate and Insurance at 1313 Central Ave., was past president of the Montana Association of Realtors. He was a former mayor of Fort Benton.

Born March 31, 1897 at Crystal Lake, Iowa, he was reared at Minot, N.D., graduating from high school there in 1917. He farmed briefly and in January 1918, entered the Army and served with the American Forces in England attached to the Air Corps 130th Squadron. He was discharged in December, 1918.

In 1919 he married Carrie B,. Lander in Great Falls and after farming in North Dakota three years returned to join E. J. Lander Co. in a farm management firm. In 1933 the family moved to Fort Benton where he established his own realty firm. Bowker served as committeeman for Chouteau County five years and as Fort Benton mayor from 1937 through 1939.

In 1942 Bowker gace up the real estate business and worked in the war effort for Kaiser Co. in Portland, Ore. Four years later he returned to Great falls to reestablish the Bowker Real Estate firm in its present loacation.

He has served as president of the Montana Association of Realtors and as a director of the National Association of Real Estate Boards./ Active in veterans' and fraternal organiztions, he was past Commander of Chouteau County post of the American Legion and a member of the local post, also Great Fall Lodge No. 118 of the Masonic Order, the Scottish Rite and Algeria Shrine of Helena.

In addition to his widowm Bowman is survived by a son, Robert L. Bowker, Denver, Collo.; two daughters, Mrs, Marion Davidson, Iowa City, Iowa, and Mrs. Marjorie Smith, Menli Park, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, and sisters, Mrs, Mabel Ellingson, Ray, N.D., and Mrs. Kay crawford, Great Bemd, Kan.

Delray Beach - The first prinicipal of Delray Elementary and Delray High School will be buried here Monday.

Clarence H. Lander, of 5 NE Second St., died Thursday night at Bethesda Memorial Hospital. He was 90.

Burial will be in Delray Beach cemetery.

Mr. Lander assumed the duties as principal of the Delray Beach Elementary School shortly after he arrived he from Cleveland in 1912. Thirteen years later he became the first principal of Delrah High School. He was instrumental in establishing regular services at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He later became Lay leader at the church and master of the Delray Masonic Lodge.

In 1916 he resigbed his post at the school and accepted a teaching position at George Peabody University in Nashville, Tenn. He returned in 1925 as principal of DelRay High School. He resigned in 1936 and taught at Palm Beach High School until his retirement in 1941.

Mr. Lander is survived by his widow, Pearl, three sons, and five grandchildren.

Delray Beach, Fla., July 14, - Word has been received here of the sudden death of Mrs. Maude Lindsey Lander of Delray Beach, Saturday night in Rickford, Ill., at the home of Mr. Lander's parents where they were spending the summer.

Mrs. Lander was the wife of Prof. C. H. Lander, who was principal of Delray Beach schools for about 16 years, resigning this spring. She was an active worjer in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the Woman's club and the Parent-Teacher Association. She was a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star here.

She leaves her husband, a son, Ray Lander of Old Hickory, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. W. V. Dternberger of Delray Beach, and Mrs. Tucker of New York and a brother, Professor Lindsey of Nashville, Tenn.

Mrs. Ettabel L. Brown of 203 Carlton Terrace, long prominent in Rockford church society died at 10:30 this morning in her home. Her death followed an illness of one week.

The daughter of Christopher and Annette M. Lander, pioneer residents of Rockford, Mrs. Brown was born Dec. 5, 1875 on a farm on Rockton avenue road, Rockford township. The family moved to the city in 1892.

She graduated from Central high school in 1893 and attended Emerson college in Boston the following two years. She later did kindergarten work in Chicago and was with Jane Addams, founder of Hull house.

On Jan 9, 1899 she married Oscar M. Brown in Chicago. Mr. Brown, who worked with American Insurance Company in Rockford died here on June 22, 1939.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Helen Giessel, a son, Malcolm L. Brown, both of Madison, Wis.

Oscar Malcolm Brown, retired insurance executive and for many years a leader in Masonic and church activities of the city, died at 4 a.m. today at his home, 1316 National Avenue, following an illness of several months duration.

Mr. Brown was born in Rockford Sept 5, 1871, son of Charles O. and Mary Brown. He was educated in the public schools of Rockford and attended the Rockford Business college. For several years he was a bookkeeper for the Rhoades Company after which he became associated with the Rockford Insurance company and remained with their successors until he retired.

On Jan 9, 1899 he was united in marriage to Ettabel Lander, who survives him. Also surviving are two children, Malcolm Lander Brown and Mrs. Helen Brown Giessel and a grandchild, Barbara Annette Brown, all of Madison, Wisconsin.

MADISON, Wis. - Helen B. Giessel of Madison and Ephraim died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at Oakwood Lutheran Homes-West.

She was born Jan. 7, 1905, in Rockford, Ill., a descendant of a pioneer Rockford family.

Helen Brown grew up in Rockford, attended Keith School, was a 1923 graduate of Rockford High School, attended Rockford College and graduated from UW in 1927.

She married E.C. "Bill" Giessel on Aug. 9, 1929. He preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1983.

Helen was chief dietitian at University Hospitals from 1928 to 1937, and associated with the Navy cooks and Bakers School at the university from 1942 to 1943. She was a charter member of the Wisconsin and Madison Dietetic Associations, and was active in the Canteen Corps of the Dane County Red Cross. Helen was a life member of the American Dietetics Association, Home Economics Alumni Association of the UW-Madison, YWCA, Door County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Scand Auxiliary of Sister Bay, Ridges Sanctuary of Bailey's Harbor, Friends of Door County Libraries, Peninsula Arts Association and the Clearing. She was a former member of the board of the Dane County Red Cross, Madison Civics Club, Visiting Nurse Service, Attic Angel Association and Madison Dietetic Association. Helen was a volunteer at the Floral Mart run by Friends of UWHC.

She is survived by a niece, Barbara (Douglas) Brown Williams of Ephraim; and many relatives.

He came here in 1953 from his native Bowling Green, Ohio. He worked as a financial secretary for Calvary Baptist Church, Clearwater. He was a member of Starkey Road Baptist Church, Seminole.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Florence; and two nephews.

Haskell, Florence P. 97, of Seminole, formerly of Clearwater passed away Friday June 7th . Born Nov. 16, 1915 in Attica, Ohio she was the daughter of Everett H. and Muriel Merrick Power.

Florence worked several years as a teller and bookkeeper at State Savings and Loan in Bowling Green, Ohio; 22 years as Church Secretary for Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater, Florida until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of the Seminole First Baptist Church.

Florence was predeceased by her husband Hubert Haskell who died in 1992.

Mrs. Haskell was a member of the Congregational Christian Church in Dunkirk.

Surviving are a son, Raymond E. Haskell, Upper Montclair, N.J.; a sister, Mrs. James W. Jarvis, Durango, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Patricia and George William Haskell, both of Upper Montclair.
