Dr. Merrill Selden Frederick Greene

May 26, 2003Retired Lt. Col. (Dr.) Merrill Selden Fredrick Greene of Lewiston, Maine, died Jan. 21. He was 102.
Greene was a veteran of World War I and World War II. In World War II, he served in England with the 67th General Hospital. He was a member of the Military Order of World Wars and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Greene is survived by nieces and nephews Tom and Mildred Sweetser of Herman, Maine, Lorraine and Raymond Wakefield of Biddeford, Maine, Robert and Frances Sweetser of Gray, Maine, Joanna and David Tammenen of Yarmouth, Maine, Linda and Carl Gurtman of York, Maine, William and Janet Sweetser of Florida, Gwen Portras of Bayonet Point, Fla., and Merrill Stockbridge of Columbia, S.C.

Born in Deadwood, South Dakota, November 11, 1894. Mrs. Forselius moved to Arizona about 10 years ago. She had been a resident of the general area for most of that time.
She is survived by a step son Frank Forselius of Whittier, Calif.

Loses Hard Fight Against Death Late Saturday Night.John Prescott who has been seriously ill with influenza for the past ten days lost a hard fight shortly after midnight Saturday night at his home, 919 East Edison street, death taking him. He is survived by his wife and four children, three brothers, O.W. Prescott of Tulsa; Lester and Ivan Prescott of this city. He was born in Montgomery county twenty-seven years ago and lived here most of his life.

January 12, 1975Mrs. Dorothy N. Morton, 61, died Friday in Northwest Texas Hospital.
Mrs. Morton, of 3711 E. 12th, was born in Channing and had been an Amarillo resident 60 years. She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Patsy Hindman of 2918 S. Fairfield; one son, the Rev. Don Prescott of Seattle, Wash., and seven grandchildren.
