Loses Hard Fight Against Death Late Saturday Night.John Prescott who has been seriously ill with influenza for the past ten days lost a hard fight shortly after midnight Saturday night at his home, 919 East Edison street, death taking him. He is survived by his wife and four children, three brothers, O.W. Prescott of Tulsa; Lester and Ivan Prescott of this city. He was born in Montgomery county twenty-seven years ago and lived here most of his life.

January 12, 1975Mrs. Dorothy N. Morton, 61, died Friday in Northwest Texas Hospital.
Mrs. Morton, of 3711 E. 12th, was born in Channing and had been an Amarillo resident 60 years. She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Patsy Hindman of 2918 S. Fairfield; one son, the Rev. Don Prescott of Seattle, Wash., and seven grandchildren.

August 22, 1996Olive Edwards Strout, 88, died here Tuesday. She was born on Clark Island at St. George, a daughter of Edwin and Rose Venner Edwards, and graduated from Rockland High School in 1926.
She worked at the Knox County Courthouse for 10 years for the registers of deeds and probate.
On Dec. 20, 1931, she married Judge Alfred M. Strout, and moved here.
Mrs. Strout was a member of Thomaston Baptist Church, where she was secretary and treasurer for the Sunday school for 10 years, and for many years was financial secretary and treasurer of the church. She was also secretary and treasurer of the Watts Fund. She served a term as president of the Beta Alpha Society.
Her husband died previously.
Surviving are a son, Arthur E. Strout of Camden; two sisters, Rose E. Torrey of Saddle Brook, N.J., and Nellie E. Nye of Bradenton, Fla.; two grandsons, Alfred B. Strout of Maryland Heights, Mo., and Charles O. Strout of Washington, D.C.

February 10, 2021TOPSHAM � Our mother, Ruby May Thompson, 95, a lifelong resident of Winter Street was called home into God's loving arms on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 at her home.
She was born in Topsham at her lifelong home on May 21, 1925, the daughter of George and Bertha Preble Cotton.
Ruby enjoyed a long life surrounded by family and friends that are far too many to be listed in this writing. Ruby and her husband George spent their lives raising their family which went on to encompass the lives of so many that were always able to find a home within the walls of their love filled home. Ruby was a loving mother and a light in the lives of everyone she touched. She will be sadly missed by all of those who loved her.
Surviving are her children, Dorothy Graffam of Bath, Stanley Thompson and his wife Eva of Limington, Mary Holman of Bowdoin, Richard Thompson and his wife Barbara of Brunswick, Daniel Thompson and his wife Darlene of Topsham, Brenda Wilbur and her husband Steve of Gray, Teresa Smith of Gray, Patty Hess and her husband Brian of Lisbon Falls, Deborah Jackson and her husband Brian of Pittsburgh, George Thompson Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Bowdoinham. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

January 3, 1970East Harpswell - Floyd Lymen Alexander, 47. of Holbrook St., Cundy's Harbor, died unexpectedly Thursday evening.
He was born here, March 1, 1923, the son of Lymen amd Allegra Harley Alexander. He attended Phippsburgh and Harpswell schools and served in the U. S. Army during World War 2.
For several years he was employed by the Stuart Construction Co. and U. S. Gypsum. More recently he had been self employed.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lois Hershey of Portland; five sons, Floyd L. Jr. of Aberdeen, Md., Aubrey S. of Bath, William F., Lloyd A. and Brian L., all of Portland; three daughters, Mrs. Vernon Roderick Jr. of Bath, Marcia G. Lori A. Alexander, both of Portland; a brother, Aubrey G. Alexander of Cundy's Harbor; and two grandchildren.
