Volume 9, No. 3, September 200010 August 1965: MERLYLE HASKELL, 49, died accidentally at Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada. He was the beloved son of Mr and Mrs Frank Haskell of Scotstown.
Interment was in Scotstown.

November 7, 1996WYNANTSKILL -- Laura K. TenEyck, 91, of Main Ave. died Tuesday at VanRensselaer Manor in Troy. Born in Waterloo, Quebec Canada she came to this country in 1920 settling in Waterford, she moved to Wynantskill in 1957.
Mrs. TenEyck was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Waterford and a former member of the Women of Grace Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Star of Liberty Chapter 379 in Mechanicville and the former Ionic Chapter in Waterford.
Her husband the late Frederick A. TenEyck died on September 22 of this year.
She was mother of Ronald S. TenEyck of Averill Park, Lawrence G. TenEyck of Waterford and Beverly A. Cornetti of Roswell, GA; sister of Guy Shepard of Phoenix, AZ; also survived by 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

September 24, 1996WYNANTSKILL -- Frederick A. TenEyck, 91, of Main Ave. died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness. Born in Quebec, Canada he was educated at schools in Ft. Edward and had resided in Waterford for 30 years before moving to Wyantskill in 1957.
Mr. TenEyck had worked for 53 years on tug boats and was a Fleet Captain on the Erie Canal. He retired in 1972 as a Captain & Master for McAllister Brothers Towing & Marine Transportation Co. in New York City. He was a member of the United Marine Division Local #333 in NYC. He was a veteran of the United States Merchant Marine and served during World War II. He was a member of Jerusalem Lodge #355 F&AM in Troy and a communicant of Grace Episcopal Church in Waterford. June 17, 1998PHOENIX, AZ -- Guy W. Shepard, formerly of Spiegletown, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at the Phoenix Mountain Nursing Home, Phoenix, Arizona, after a brief illness.
Born in Bedford, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late William and Gertrude Haskell Shepard and husband of Lena Rasmussen Shepard of Phoenix.
He emigrated to the United States at 14 years old and lived in Waterford. He graduated from Waterford High School. He moved to Troy in 1933, then to Spiegletown in 1945, where he and his wife lived for 50 years, until moving to Phoenix in 1996.
He became a naturalized citizen of the United States while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945. Mr. Shepard was the proprietor of Uncle George's Tavern in Lansingburgh for 37 years until he retired in 1972 and closed the business. He was a very active member of the Jerusalem Masonic Lodge #355 of Troy for 40 years and held several positions in the lodge including, tiler, president of the Fellowcraft Club, two terms as worshipful master, temple association trustee, trustees association treasurer, and lodge trustee in charge of finances and investments. He was a past grand lodge staff officer and grand director of ceremonies. He received the Grand Lodge Dedicated Service Award in 1975. He was a member of Phoenix Chapter #133 R.A.M., Bloss Council #14 Cryptic Masons, Appollo Commandery #15 K.T. and the Old 17th District Past Master's Association. He was a member and trustee of the former Immanuel Lutheran Church when that church united with Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Lansingburgh, where he was an active member and usher.
Survivors in addition to his wife include several nieces and nephews. Guy was predeceased by his sister, the late Laura Ten Eyck of Wynantskill.

October 29, 1998PHOENIX, AZ -- Lena Rasmussen Shepard, 93, formerly of Spiegletown, died Sunday, October 25, 1998, at Pleasant Valley Hospital, Phoenix, Arizona, after a long illness.
Born in Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late George Rasmussen and Mary Jessen Rasmussen and the widow of Guy W. Shepard, who died on June 15, 1998.
Mrs. Shepard was a lifelong area resident until moving to Phoenix with her husband in 1996. She was co-proprietor with her husband of Uncle George's Tavern in Lansingburgh for 37 years until they retired in 1972 and closed the business. Mrs. Shepard, a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and was a homemaker most of her life. She was a former member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Lansingburgh, the OES Ionic Chapter, Waterford, life member of Mechanicville Star Liberty No. 379 and the Apollo Court of Amarata No. 5.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

March 17, 2015TROY - Ralph Haskell, 90, of Troy, entered into eternal life on Sunday March 15, 2015 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Foster, Quebec, Canada he was the son of the late Lloyd and Beryl Lloyd Haskell and the beloved husband of Marcelline (Marcie) Carnival Haskell whom died on July 24, 2009.
Mr. Haskell was a WWII Veteran serving with the Canadian Artillary as a gunner.
In 1953 he along with his wife and 2 children moved to Troy and became Citizens of the United States. Mr. Haskell retired from the Chemistry Department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute after many years of service.
Survivors include his children, Dallas (Scott) Schmiedeshoff and Guy Haskell. He was the proud grandfather of Christina (Tom) Keeler, Michael Vigilone, Erich Haskell, Candace, Christopher and Jamie Haskell, great grandfather of Richard III and Joshua Hendee.
In addition to his late wife Marcie, he was also pre deceased by his brother Eric Haskell.

July 30, 2009TROY - Marcelline 'Marcie' Carnival Haskell, 80, of Troy, passed into eternal life on Friday morning, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
Marcie was born and schooled in the Province of Ontario, Canada. She was the daughter of the late Frank (Carnevale) Carnival and Mary Rose Mayhew.
She worked as a welder for the Steel Equipment to support the war effort during World War II. She was one who established the first union during her employment and she served as shop steward.
On May 18, 1946, she married Ralph Haskell, the soldierboy she had met during basic training and moved to the Eastern Township in the Province of Quebec, Canada.
She was a member of the Ladies Card Club and worked on political campaigns with her father-in-law Lloyed Haskell.
She and her two children moved to Troy in 1953 to join her husband. While a resident of Troy, she worked at the Nightingale Nursing Home, the Leonard Hospital, Williams Press and W.T. LaRose & Associates.
She was compassionate and conscientious in her endeavors and had a keen interest in government and union business for the people. During her employment at W.T. LaRose & Associates she held the office of president of the Thermall Association and also the office of president of Local 8247, CIO AFL and CLC.
In June 1995, she reserved a room at the Best Western in Troy at her expense to inform Troy residents of the true facts about the Municipal Assistance Corporation, known as the MAC. In 1996, she became a member and founder of Trojans for Troy and was joined by 400 citizens who marched to City Hall to Protest 21 per cent tax increase.
Left to mourn are her husband Ralph; daughter Dallas (Scott) Scmiedeshoff of Troy and her son Guy Haskell of Washington County; six grandchildren, Christina Hendee of Schenectady, Michael Vigilone of Troy, Erich (Kelly) Haskell Georgia of Camdon, SC, Candace, Christopher and Jamie Haskell of Washington County; three great-grandchildren, Richard III and Joshua Hendee of Schenectady and Lauren Madison Haskell of Evans, GA. Marcie is also survived by her siblings Isabel Gutoskie of North Bay, Ontario, Irene St. Pierre, Frances (Howard) Doelle and Parnell (Joan) Carnival and sister-in-law Mabel Carnival Pembroke of Ontario, Canada. She was predeceased by her brother Vincent Carnival.

February 27, 1984Anna Casey, 84. of Gremont and formerly pf Omaha, died Friday at the Hooper Care Cemter. She had lived in Fremont for 12 years,
Survival include two soms, Peter E. of Vallejo, Calid., and Robert T. of Orange, Calif.; two daughters, Dorothy McGowan and Sharon Thompson, both of Fremont; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Burial - Hill Crest Cemetery in Omaha.
Stanley Clarence Haskell was apopted by Frank and Ida M. Hamel.
