23 Nov 1946Albert Haskell, 79 years old, a farmer who had lived all his life in Ray County, Missouri, diede yesterday morning at his farm home four miles northwest of Richmond.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Emma L. Haskell of the home; a son Gerald Haskell, 4009 Walnut street; three daughters, Mrs. Martha Ann Holland, 707 Westport road; Mrs. Kathryn Rottler, Independence, Kas, and Mrs. Samuel Thomas, Richmond, and a sister, Mrs. Robert Legate, Independence.

September 25, 1992J. Lynn Rider, 86, Lexington, Mo ., died Sept. 24, 1992, at Research Medical Center. Mr. Rider was born in Sunshine, Mo ., and moved to Lexington in 1936. He was a maintenance worker for the Standard Oil Co. in Lexington for 31 years, retiring in 1970. He was past master and district deputy grand master of the Lexington Masonic Lodge. He was past commander of the Order of DeMolay, a member of the St. Chrysostom Conclave and the Red Cross of Constantine, and he was a Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priest. He was a member and deacon emeritus of the First Christian Church of Lexington, where he served on the pulpit committee in 1976.
His wife, Bernadine Thelma Rider, died in 1991.
Survivors include a daughter, Jan Rider McCoy, Joplin, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

November 9, 1991Bernadine Thelma Rider, 81, Lexington, Mo ., died Nov. 7, 1991, in the Shirkey Leisure Acres Nursing Home, Richmond. She was born in Boonville, Mo ., and lived in Lexington most of her life.
Mrs. Rider worked for Montgomery Ward & Co. in Kansas City and Lexington for 10 years. Later she worked for Dunhill Shirt Co. in Lexington. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Women's Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution, all in Lexington. She was secretary and treasurer of the Wentworth Country Club, Lexington, for 11 years. She was a member and deaconess emeritus of the First Christian Church, Lexington.
Survivors include her husband, Lynn Rider of the home; a daughter, Jan McCoy, Joplin, Mo .; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. S

December 7, 1994Ruth Janet Owens, 80, died Dec. 6, 1994, in the Meadowbroo k Manor of Kansas City, where she lived. Mrs. Owens was born in Sunshine, Mo ., and lived in Napoleon, Mo ., and Lexington before moving to Kansas City in 1991. Mrs. Owens taught at the Tri-County School of Cosmetology in Lexington before she retire d. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Buckner. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Lexington. Her husband, Kenneth S. Owens, died in 1977.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Owens, Manhattan, Kan., Gary Owens, Byron, Ill., and Philip Owens, Sag Harbor, N.Y.; a daughter, Ruth Ann Josephson, Independence; two sisters, Forrestine Sturgis and June Payne of Lexington; six grandchildren; and four great-grand- children.

June 15, 1944Clarence Ralph Haskell, son of James Freeman and Martha Haskell, was born in Ray County, Missouri on Nov. 5, 1882 and passed away at the Strickler Hospital in Kirksville on June 10, 1944.
He was married to Miss Ethel G. Gross on May 12, 1919. Two sons were born to this union, Charles Freeman of Waterloo, Iowa, and Carl Eugene of Great Lakes, Illinois.
Mr. Haskell had been in business in La Plata for 25 years. He is survived by his wife two sons; a granddaughter, Barbara Ann Haskell; two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Mary Legate of Independence, Mrs. Kate Keel of Kansas City, and Albert Haskell of Richmond, Missouri.

December 23, 1971Mrs. Ethel Gertrude Haskell, 81, lifelong La Plata resident, died Sunday evening at the Adair County Nursing Home in Kirksville, where she had been a patient for about three weeks.
Mrs. Haskell was born on Nov. 9, 1890 southwest of La Plata, the daughter of Charles Martin and Margaret Ann (Griffin) Gross.
She was married on May 12, 1919 to Macon to Clarence Ralph Haskell, who died on June 10, 1944. The last of her immediate family, she had been preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Surviving are two sons, Charles F. Haskell of Waterloo, Iowa, and Carl E. Haskell of Cedar Falls, Iowa; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Haskell was a member of the Little Zion Primitive Baptist Church.

February 26, 2014WATERLOO -- Mary A. Haskell, 90, of Waterloo, died Monday, Feb. 24, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of complications from surgery.
She was born Feb. 28, 1923, in rural Grundy County, daughter of Alva O. "A.O." and Ferne Sherbon Heltibridle. She married Charles "Charlie" Haskell on Feb. 28, 1959, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua; he died July 5, 1990.
Mary graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1941. She was employed at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co., Waterloo, for 35 years, retiring in 1983.
Survived by: a sister, Lois J. Bern of Reinbeck; her special friend, Harold Metzger of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, Ralph and Glen Heltibridle; and two sisters, Margaret Skinner and Helen Thompson.

February 1, 2017Harry Leroy Stevens, age 83, passed away Sunday morning, January 29, 2017, at his home in Joplin, Mo., following a long illness.
Harry and his twin brother, Jack Freeman Stevens, were born November 15, 1933, in Verona, Mo., to Harry I. Stevens and Ida M. Haskell Stevens.
The family lived in Monett until 1948 when Ida and her sons moved to San Diego, Calif., after Harry Sr. lost his life to cancer. There, Harry was active in Boy Scouts, earning his Eagle Scout award and enjoying tennis and school.
After high school graduation, Harry enlisted in the United States Air Force. Deployed to London, England, he was selected to membership in the Air Force hand-balancing team which spent the next three years entertaining troops stationed throughout Europe.
Returning home after completing his tour of duty, he enrolled at San Diego State College where he studied police science. Athletics, still being his first love, he joined the school's tennis team. Transferring later to San Jose State, he continued in his major. He also studied judo, earning a brown belt. He was employed as a deputy sheriff, in Santa Clara County, Calif., for several years.
Eventually, Harry returned to his roots in southwest Missouri. He became an active real estate broker in Aurora. Later he moved to Joplin, eventually becoming a real estate appraiser and establishing Stevens Appraisal Service in 1990. Retiring in 2010, he was fortunate his two sons, Scott and Ron, had been in the business with him where they continue to run it successfully.
After moving to Joplin, he met and married Joan Brock, the love of his life.
Harry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, stepfather, brother.
Harry is survived by Joan, his wife of 25 years; children, Ron Jenkins, of Carl Junction, Scott Stevens (Corinne), of Carl Junction, Kelli Nugent (Shawn), of Carthage, Leonard Stevens, of Palm Springs, Calif.; five grandchildren and three and a half great-grandchildren. Additional surviving family members include step-children, LaDonna Carey, Doug Whitehead and Rhonda Donham (Jeff); and six step-grandchildren. Special family members include Glendora Brock, Jimmy Brock, Aubrey and Sandy Brock and Ruth Pristas. Harry was preceded in death by his twin brother, Jack Stevens; and his parents, Harry and Ida Stevens.
Harry was a loyal friend to many. His friendships go back as far as childhood. He enjoyed his life and his family. He was a man with a good and caring heart. He loved people. Harry will be missed.

Born November 15, 1933, in Verona, Missouri, he was a son of the late Harry I. Stevens and Ida Haskell Stevens Tarter. Jack retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of dedicated service to his country, having served multiple tours in Vietnam. He received a Purple Heart, two Distinguished Flying Crosses and other Air Service medals. Additionally he retired from the SCDNR after 22 years at the Styx Receiving Compound. He was a graduate of San Diego High School, earned an associate degree from Florence Darlington Tech., was an Eagle Scout, loved to fish, hunt and play bingo.
He is survived by his wife, Regis Pittman Stevens; daughter, Kaye Floyd (Fuzzy) of West Columbia; sons, Jack Stevens (Pam Turner) of West Columbia, Rick Stevens (Lee Ann) of Pamplico; daughter-in-law, Kim Stevens of Gaston; twin brother, Harry Stevens of Missouri; grandchildren, Lisa Bassin (Rick), Jenny Pierce, Paul Vestal, Chris Vestal (Rana), Jake Stevens, Donovan Stevens; 9 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Billie Stevens.

Everett Miller, 79, Route 2, Richmond, died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 1985 at the Liberty Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Miller was born Aug. 17, 1906 in Ray County, the son of Walter and Melissa (Haskell) Miller. He had lived in Richmond and Orrick most of his life. He was married to Martha Kathryn Campbell, Ray County, December 24, 1929. She died March 30, 1967.
He is survived by a son, Kenneth R. Miller, Route 1, Camden; three daughters, Mrs. Gilbert (Sue) Walker, Orrick; Mrs. Cleo (Charlene E) Smith, Richmond, and Mrs. Ewell (Linda) Gordon, Lexington; a brother, Eugene "Hooney" Miller, Pensacola, FL; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A daughter died in infancy. Two brothers, three sisters, and two grandsons are deceased.

Mrs. Martha Kathryn Miller, 60, died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 1967, at her home route 3, Richmond, following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 12, 1906, near Lawson, a daughter of John and Sue (Handy) Campbell, and had lived in Ray county all her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
On Dec. 24, 1936, she was married to Everett Miller of Richmond, who survives.She is also survived by a son, Kenneth Miller of Orrick; three daughters, Mrs. Charlene Kilgore and Miss Linda Miller of the home and Mrs. Gilbert Walker of Orrick.
Five brothers, Virgil Campbell of Lawson, John Campbell of Orrick, William Campbell of Kansas City, Jake Campbell of San Diego, Calif., and Ray Campbell of Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Docia Tucker of Kansas City and Mrs. George Claypole of Polo, and six grandchildren.
One daughter preceded her in death.

Emily took great pride in her home on Cass Lake. She was extremely talented and creative and she loved riding her SeaDoo.

March 28, 1940Mrs Evelyn E Binckley, 57, widow of Dr Albert W Binckley, died yesterday at her home on E 220th St, Euclid.
Mrs Binckley was a nurse at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton when she met Dr Binckley. After their marriage, they lived in Columbus until 1915, when Dr Binckley came to Cleveland to establish a medical practice. He died in 1923.
