The Daily Astorian (Astoria, OR)
August 21, 2015Peggy Rose Haskell was born Jan. 3, 1944, and passed at home Aug. 15, 2015.
Peggy was born to Mayo and Mary Lindsey in Ellensburg, Wash., where she was raised until 1959, when the family moved to Salem, Ore., to establish M & M Bowl.
She then attended North Salem High School where, in her junior year (November 1960), she met and married Larry J. Haskell, and immediately started a family. They raised their children in Astoria, Ore., where even their children's friends would call her "Mom."
She also became a dental assistant. The last five years before her retirement, she taught dental assisting and radiology at Job Corps in Astoria and Clatsop Community College. Three years ago she moved to Redmond, Ore., full time to enjoy the drier climate.
She loved helping things grow; her children, grandchildren, and flowers.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Haskell; her two sisters, Patty and Mary Lou; her three children, Troy, Tara, and Tobi; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
