April 13, 2015BUCKSPORT - Mary S. Robshaw, 93 died peacefully Friday April 10, 2015 at a Bangor hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 4, 1921 in Deer Isle the daughter of Mace and Ada Eaton.
Mary had a great love of family as a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting afghans, playing cribbage.
She worked for many years at Castine Hospital and catered many private events. She finished her career working at Fort Knox Park Inn as a manager.
She is survived by three daughters; Patricia Wardwell of Penobscot, Donna and Larry Green of Bucksport and Florida, Sally Howard of Bucksport, one daughter in law Julia Bowden of Castine, grandchildren; Robin Vogell, Lisa and Ron Haas, Anne and Tim Darling, Rob and Linda Howard, Dana and Simone Howard, Christopher Howard and his significant other Kristy Lucas, Andrew and Wendy Bowden, Greg and Jill Bowden, Angela and Skip Cushman, Tim and Stephanie Bowden, 20 Great-Grandchildren, Six Great Great-Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Vaughn Robshaw, one son Edgar Bowden, one grandson Randy Wardwell, two brothers and four sisters.

September 6, 1995Louise J. Staples, 79, died Sunday at her South Shore Road residence after a long illness.
She was born at Union, a daughter of Willis C. and Josephine I. Small Burns, and graduated from Union High School in 1934.
She was an office clerk for the Travelers Insurance Co. for 23 years.
Mrs. Staples was a member of the North Haven Grange and Garden Club and was known for her beautiful flower gardens. She attended the Unity Guild of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Alfred G. Staples; two daughters, Patricia S. Curtis of North Haven and Joyce Marie Deming of East Hampton, Conn.; a son, Robert G. of North Haven; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

October 16, 1997Alfred Gilchrest Staples, 84, died Tuesday at his South Shore home.
He was born in Vinalhaven on Nov. 4, 1912, son of Simeon R. and Marie (Gilchrest) Staples. At the age of 15, he moved to North Haven to live with his aunt.
On April 19, 1935, he married Louise J. Burns in Union.
During World War II, Mr. Staples worked as a painter in Long Island, N.Y., Portland, the Camden shipyard and in Rockville, Conn.
Mr. and Mrs. Staples moved back to North Haven following his retirement. He worked for J.O. Brown Boatbuilding and was a caretaker at several private estates. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and working around his home.
His wife died in 1995.
Surviving are a son, Robert G. of North Haven; two daughters, Patricia S. Curtis of North Haven and Joyce M. Deming of East Hampton, Conn.; three stepbrothers, Ralph Staples of Hamden, Mass., David Staples of Spruce Head and Eugene Staples of Newport; three stepsisters, Freda Staples of California, Marjorie Sears of West Springfield, Mass., and Jennie Schumaker of Sweet Springs, W. Va.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

July 21, 1999Robert Sheldon Tracy, 86, of Plaisted Road died Tuesday at his home after a brief illness.
He was born in Ellsworth, a son of Benjamin W. and Harriet Plaisted Tracy.
Mr. Tracy began work at Maine National Bank branch here at the age of 22 and retired at 66 as a vice president.
He was a member of First Parish Congregational Church, York, and was a former York town treasurer. He was also a trustee emeritus of York Hospital and a former trustee of St. Peter by the Sea Church in Cape Neddick and of the York school district.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Frances Hawkes Tracy of York; two daughters, Deborah T. White of South Berwick and Judith T. Cook of Cocoa, Fla.; three granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

December 10, 1925Mrs. J. G. Fassett, sister of F. B. Shepley, passed away at St. Luke's hopsital, Spokane, Friday afternoon, December 4, after a lingering illness, suffering from creeping paralysis.
Nellie Shepley was born in Bangor, Maine, August 1, 1851, and was 74 years, 4 months, and 3 days of age at the time of her death. While still a young girl she came with her parents to Minnesota.
In 1870 she was united in marriage to Mr. John G. Fassett. To this union four children were born, three sons and one daughter, of whom two sons survive. They are Bert, still in Minnesota, and Harold S. of Prineville, Oregon.
Mr. Fassett passed away about 25 years ago. About eight years ago Mrs. Fassett moved to Bend, Oregon. Two years later she came to Ritzville where she remained at the home of her brother for some time until she was taken to St. Luke's hospital at Spokane four years ago last March. She has been confined at the hospital since that time, until she was released Friday from her affliction and passed quietly to the home beyond.

May 23, 1996Helen E. Fassett, who once worked as a receptionist in the beauty salon in Olds & King department store, died May 19, 1996, in Gresham. She was 91.
Mrs. Fassett was born Oct. 22, 1904, in Portland. Her maiden name was Nelson. She attended school in Portland where she lived all her life.
She married Harold S. in 1955. He since has died. Survivors include her nephew, Bob Nelson of Madras; and nieces, Elizabeth Hondorf of Incline Village, Nev., and LaVonne Carder of Gresham.
