Frederick Howard was a master mariner. He sailed on the "Lettie G.", built in 1893 in Essex, Massachusetts. The ship survives and is part of the collection at the South Street Seaport Museum in New York City. At the age of 32 he is listed as a teamster in the 1880 Federal Census of Beverly , Massachusetts.

January 22, 1934Capt. Frederick Howard, for many years a resident of Beverly passed away yesterday at his home 78 Elliott street, Danvers, after a long illness at the age of 85.
He was born at Deer Isle, Maine, and followed the sea for many years, retiring about eleven years ago.
Mr. Howard leaves one daughter Mrs. Lettie G. Barron, two sons, Almon R. Howard of the firm Larcom & Howard of this city, and Earnest A. Howard of New York City, two sisters, Mrs. Asenath Gorton of Beverly, and Mrs. Harriet Hanscomb of Somerville, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two nieces and three nephews.

Mrs. Lettie G. Barron of Salem and formerly of Beverly died yesterday after
a long illness at the age of 80 years. Mrs. Barron was born in Deer Isle, Maine, but resided in Beverly for many years before taking a residence in Salem. She is survived by a brother Ernest Howard of Hoboken, N.J., a nephew, a niece and great nieces.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral chapel of Curtis H. Gentlee, Ellis Square, Beverly, Saturday afternoon at three-thirty oclock. Friends may call at the chapel this evening.Beverly Evening Times, Monday, July 16, 1951.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lettie G. Barron of Salem, formerly of Beverly,
were held at the funeral chapel of Curtis H. Gentlee, Ellis square, Saturday afternoon and were well attended. Rev. Willis Miller, pastor of the Methodist church of Beverly, officiated. The floral tributes were many and the interment was in the North Beverly cemetery. Delegates were present from the Beverly Grange and the Companions of the Forest, of which she was a member. The Rev. Miller conducted the service at the grave.
George Lyman Clayton Holden was a master mariner (1900 US Federal Census for Deer Isle).
Samuel Pickering at age 24 was a clerk. In the 1900 US Federal Census for Deer Isle he is listed as a grocer at age 63.
In the 1910 Federal Census for Deer Isle George Holden is listed as employed in the real estate business.
Obituary
Deer IsleCapt. Albert L. Haskell, 82, formerly of this town, died March 5, at his home in Port Jefferson, Long Island, N. Y., after a few days illness.
He is survived by a daughter, Helen Haskell Bergen and a granddaughter. His wife, Rebecca, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis M. Holden of Deer Isle, died in July 1932.
Capt. Haskell was the last member of a large family and was born at the old homestead owned by his brother, the late Capt. Dudley Haskell.

August 21, 1941Charleston, Aug. 20 - Richard H. Weston, 81, died Tuesday at his home after several months' illness.
He had resided hrer three years, coming from Bangor. He was a retired railroad man.
He leaves a son Harold of Bangor; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Cyrtis, of South Brewer; brother, Orrin of Kingman; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Orrin Matilla Eaton at age 44 was employed as a day laborer (1900 US Federal Census for Deer Isle). In 1927 he is listed in Deer Isle town records as a farmer.
