Norway - Mrs Ivanalla Swift, 98, died Tuesday morning at the Pike Hill Nusing Home where she had been a patient the las two years.

Mrs. Swift was born in Rockland, Nov. 10, 1869, the daughter of Hiram and Clara Ingraham Ginn.

She was married Nov. 27, 1901 to Porter B. Swift, who died Jan, 9, 1945.


63672. Harry E. Nixon

Harry E. Nixon, 69, a prominent criminal lawyer here since 1909, died Sunday in a local hospital.

He lived at 456 Woodford St. Mr. Nixon was recorder of the Portland Municipal Court from 1916 to 1919 and was a candidate at various times for the offices of mayor of Portland, judge of the Cumberland County Probate Court and county attorney. He was chairman of the Democratic State Committee several times. Mr. Nixon represented defendants in many Maine murder cases.

Born here May 3, 1882, son of Edward and Hattie M. Ingraham Nixon, he was educated in local schools and studies law under the late Judge Sewall Strout.

A member of the Maine and Massachusetts Bar Associations, he was active in Masonic Orders and belonged to the Portland Lodge of Masons, Greenleaf Royal Arch Chapter, Saint Albans Commandery, Knights Templar, and the Kora Shrine. He was also a member of the Portland Lodge of Elks.

Besides his widow, the former Inez George, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Hattie M. Higgins, Gorham; a daughter, Miss Violet E. Nixon of Portland; two sons, Milton A. of Portland and Harry E. Nixon Jr. of Billerica, Mass., and several grandchildren.

Albert L. Ingraham, 65 of North Whitefield died August 3 after a lingering illness. He was born in Whitefield, May 9, 1902 son of Albert F. and Mary Cookson Ingraham. He was a lifelong resident of Whitefield.

Survivors include his wife, Anne Gould Ingraham of Whitefield, one son, Leo A Gould Jr.; one half-brother, Edwin Taylor of Nashville, N. C. ; one sister, Mrs. Albert Ware of Randolph; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

FRIEDA INGRAHAM, 91, of Milford, died May 10. She was the wife of the late George Ingraham.

A resident of Las Vegas, Nev., for 35 years, she moved to Milford two years ago.

A son, David of Milford, and three grandchildren survive Mrs. Ingraham.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Richard, and a grandson.

Rockland - Mrs. Maude (Ingraham) Gould, 82, of 91 Brentwood Street, Portland, died Saturday in a Portland hospital following a brief illness.

She was born in Rockland, July 3, 1885, the daughter of Fred and Lucetta Ingraham and was the granddaughter of Captain Otis Ingraham.

She was married to Benjamin L. Gould of Union, who died in 1928.

She is survived by a son George R. Gould of Portland, with whom she had resided; rwo grandsons, Robert W. and Philip A. Gould, and six grand children.
