"Crack" was married to Carrie Haskell Gentrup. Father of Paul Richard (Crack), Charles Clifford and Kathryn (1914-1937). Kathryn had 2 daughters,Peggy & Jackie, and Grandpa Crack adopted them after their mom passed away at an early age.Brother of William, Grover & Carolyn (Carrie).

Born in Madison, Indiana and served his apprenticeship as a blacksmith at the old Madison Machine Co. and worked there for 20 years. In 1917 he went to work for the U.S. Government doing lock & dam work and was stationed at Fernbank until his illness. He returned to Madison to the home of his brother, Grover, where he passed away.

Veteran of the Spanish-American War serving in Co. F of the 159th Indiana Infantry.

Flora Mae Darby Gentrup was married to Paul Richard Gentrup and had the following children: Betty Ann 12-21-1945, Paul Gary (PG) 6-12-1947, Louis Francis 6-22-1948 to 12-10-1948, and Kenneth Richard 4-12-1950.

Her first marriage was to Goble Barnett and they had a son, Lowell Ray Barnett, 8-14-1937.

Grace Evelyn Farmer, 99, of New Albany, IN and formerly of Charlestown, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at River Crossing Assisted Living in Charlestown.

She was born on August 8, 1915 to Sam and Lela (Fitzlar) Williams in Clark Co., IN. She was a retired cook for Pleasant Ridge Elementary, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlestown, IN. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Farmer, and a son, Larry Farmer.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Susie Jenks of New Albany, IN; grandsons, Scott Farmer of New Albany, IN, and Mark Farmer of Perth, Australia; granddaughter, Sharon Bullock of Baton Rouge, LA; 4 great-grandchildren.

Mary F. Mathes, 93, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009 at the Golden Living Center, Brandywine.

She was born May 17, 1915 in Marion County, Indiana and was the daughter of the late Albert and Inez (Fritzler) Barlow.

Mary was a homemaker and a member of Curry’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by sons, Jack C. (Carol) of Greenfield and Richard (Maureen) Mathes of New Palestine; daughter, Carol Thompson; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Mathes; son, Stephen Mathes; sister’s, Mable Huffman and Katherine Hopper; brother, Henry Albert Barlow.

Catherine L. Hopper, 85, died April 26, 2007, at her home.

She lived in Stuart for 20 years, coming from southern Indiana and Kentucky.

She earned a licensed practical nurse degree and worked in labor, delivery and operating rooms.

She was a minister for the Church of the Nazarene in the southern Indiana and Kentucky districts.

She was preceded in death by husband, Ernest Hopper, in 1981.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Mckee of Stuart, Geraldine Smith of Danville, Va., and Paula Weaver of Church Road, Va.; sister, Frances Mathes of Greenfield, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
