With ten brave shipmates, he perished in the Bay of Biscayne while voluntarily engaged in saving the torpedoed British steamer Wellington. Triumphantly saved from the enemy, the vessel succumbed to the gale seventeen hours later. These men were seamen and inheritors of the traditions of the sea. Their example shall live forever.

January 27, 1992DICKINSON, EVALYN BISHOP, 88, of Seminole, died Saturday (Jan. 25, 1992) at University General Hospital, Seminole. She was born in Norton, Mass., and came here in 1955 from Warwick, R.I.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Boyer, Seminole; a niece and three nephews; a granddaughter, Kim Boyer Rast, Pinellas Park; and a great-granddaughter.
Per marriage record, Ira was adopted.

John Phillip St. Germain, formerly of San Jose, CA, was born in Fairhaven, MA and passed away in Fresno at the age of 85.
He was a retired general foreman for Moffett Field Navel Air Station.
He was preceded in death by his son, David St. Germain; granddaughter, Jillian St. Germain; and wife, Susan St. Germain. Mr. St.
Germain is survived by sons, John St. Germain of Nevada and James St. Germain of California; sisters, Chiara Marie St. Germain, Susan Carciere and Shelly Phillips, all of California; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

NEW BEDFORD -- Harry H. Hathaway, 79, of New Bedford died Friday, April 2, 2004, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Florianna (Bonneau) Hathaway.
Born in Wareham, the son of the late Ira F. and Lena (Hudson) Hathaway, he lived most of his life in New Bedford. He was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
Mr. Hathaway was a maintenance man for C.E. Beckman Co. until his retirement.
Survivors include his widow; a sister, Mabel Tavano of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Gladys Sherman, Luella Sylvia, Beatrice Hathaway, Evelyn Hathaway and Rose St. Germain.

Taunton - Services for Bradford LeBaron Church, 69, of 26 Prospect St., will be held tomorrow ar 2 p.m. at First Parish Church. He died at the New England Deaconess Hospital on Thursday.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of Henry Hall and Carrie (Canedy) Church. He was graduated from Tuanton High School and Amherst College.
Mr. Church was active in the textile business for more than 40 years. He was vice president of the Leigh Textile Co., in Boston and vice president an general manager of Hill and Cutler Co., of New Bedford.
During World War I he served as a second Lieutenant and during World War II was in the Coast Gaurd Auxiliary.
He was a member of the Warmsutta Club of New Bedford, Textile Dinner Club, New York Athletic Club and First Parish Church in Taunton. He served on the Taunton Minicipal Council from 1936 to 1937.
He leaves his wife Katerind T. (Davol), and a daughter. Mrs. Robert (Eleanor) Angus Johnston Jr. of Westwood.
