Earl Lloyd Foster passed away in a Sonora hospital at the age of 86.

A native of Ripon, California, Mr. Foster joined the California Highway Patrol in Stockton in 1930. He transferred to Sonora in 1947, and retired from there in 1967.

Mr. Foster was survived by his wife of 63 years, Stella; a son, Donald of Martinez; a daughter, Janice Boone of Columbia; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine M. Freel Foster, on August 20, 1944 [sic]; father, Moses Nathan Foster, on August 20, 1944; his brother, Lyle L. Foster on February 16, 1984; sister, Hattie Proudfit on May 14, 1983; and sister, Dorothy Gillett on April 9, 1986.


35361. Miller Thompson Bolton

Miller T. Bolton, of the Bolton Drug Store Company, Plainview, is one of the active men in the affairs of the village, and is doing his share toward the general prosperity of the country.
He was born in Eyota, Olmstead County, this state, October 27, 1871, son of Thomas G. and Ella (Foster) Bolton. He was brought to Plainview by his parents as an infant, and here passed through the public schools, graduating from the Plainview High School in 1888. In the meanwhile he had spent much of his spare time in his father's drug store, and early became imbued with the idea of following his father's profession. Accordingly in 1892 he entered the University of Minnesota and pursued the regular course in pharmacy, being graduated from that course in 1894. Then returning to Plainview, he associated himself with his father in the drug business. In 1907 the firm of the Bolton Drug Store was formed with Miller T. and John F. as partners, and this firm has since continued to do a prosperous business. The brothers have a neat store, well equipped, and carry a good line of drugs, stationery and novelties. Fraternally Mr. Bolton is a member of Illustrious Lodge No. 63, and of the Odd Fellows ...

Robert Fulton Jefferis

CHATFIELD -- The funeral for Robert F. Jefferis, 102, of Chatfield, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Chatfield United Methodist Church; the Rev. Justin Halmersma will officiate. Burial will be in Chatfield Cemeter

Mr. Jefferis died Saturday (Nov. 17, 2007) at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, where he had resided for two months.

Robert Fulton Jefferis was born Aug. 1, 1905, in Rock Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Litchfield (Minn.) High School in 1924. He married Ruth Bolton in Minneapolis on Aug. 30, 1930. Mr. Jefferis retired in 1975 after 40 years with the Post Office as a Supervisor of Postal Operations. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Chatfield United Methodist Church, Degree of Honor Lodge, and the Chatfield Brass Band. He served as a Boy Scout Leader, P.T.A. President, President of the Chatfield Cemetery Board, Treasurer of the Western Days Committee, and Secretary/Treasurer of the United Methodist Church. He was also a member and soloist in the church choir, taught Sunday School, and belonged to the United Methodist Men's Brotherhood.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Thomas (Stella) of Corbin, Ky., Mallory (Christel) of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Michael (Robert) of Minneapolis; four daughters, Mary Ellen Barth of Preston, and Roberta (Rodney) Copeman, Marlene (Glenn) Hisey and Judith Stites, all of Chatfield; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife on July 3, 1993, three brothers and two sisters.

Lee Boyd MINSHULL December 12, 1914 ~ February 27, 2008

Lee Boyd Minshull was born on December 12, 1914 in Clayton, Washington, the second of three sons, to William and Olive Minshull.

For most of his life Lee lived in the Snoqualmie Valley; he graduated from Duvall High School in 1932. He repaired automobiles for a few years prior to marrying Helen Weber in 1936. Lee worked for the Washington State Department of Transportation for 27 years and never lost his interest in cars and roads and bridges. In retirement Lee and Helen enjoyed traveling, and together they saw the U.S. from Alaska to Florida, Boston to San Diego and Hawaii, and lots of places in between. Lee never stopped taking pictures of these travels and loved to share his slides.

Lee is survived by his children, Gary and Lorraine Minshull of Bothell, Arlene Davidson of Carnation, and Sharon and Bob Rogland of Carnation. He leaves behind 14 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
