January 13, 2015Jones, Harold K. 94, of Burlington, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, January 11, 2015 at Oak Crest in DeKalb. He was born August 25, 1920 on the Lloyd family farm in Sycamore the son of Knill and Myrle (Lloyd) Jones.
Harold was a 1937 graduate of Hampshire High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946. He was stationed in Alaska and then aboard the USS Buckingham in the Pacific Theatre and also was in the occupational forces in Japan.
Following his service, he married Gladys M. Carlson on August 24, 1946 and they farmed in Burlington all his married life. He also raised livestock and was proud of his carpentry skills. Harold was a very active member of the Burlington Methodist Church all his adult life. He was a 50 year member of the Masons and was an original member of the Burlington Park Board, a position he held for 29 years. Harold was an exceptional athlete, playing baseball in his younger years, golf with Gladys in his later years and was very proud of the fact that at the age of 70, he could do a 1 1/2 off the diving board.
Surviving are his four beautiful daughters, Sandra (Joe) Konecny, Carol (Daniel) Follman, Valerie (Rev. Jack) Way and Cheryl Ward; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many more to come.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Gladys on May 17, 2003; and brothers, Lloyd (Adeline) Jones and Loren (Patricia) Jones.

May 19, 2003Gladys C. Jones, 77, of Burlington, Ill., passed away Saturday, May 17, 2003, at home.
Born Dec. 31, 1925, in Sycamore, she was the daughter of Harry and Wilda (Knappenberger) Carlson. Gladys was a 1943 graduate of Sycamore High School. She married Harold K. Jones on Aug. 24, 1946, in Syca-more and they farmed in Burlington Township all their married life.
Gladys loved being a homemaker. She enjoyed cleaning, cooking, sewing, canning and playing golf in the Whiffers Ladies Golf League, of which she was an officer.
Mrs. Jones was a longtime active member of Burlington United Methodist Church, where she had served as treasurer of the United Methodist Women's Group for more than 10 years. She organized many of the church dinners and was renowned for her gravy. She also played a mean game of pinochle. Her greatest joy was being "Mom" and entertaining her family.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Harold; four daughters, Sandra (Joe) Konecny of Burlington, Carol (Daniel) Follman of Elgin, Valerie (Rev. Jack) Way of Rome, Wis., and Cheryl Ward of South Elgin; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Volpp of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eileen Johnson; two brothers-in-law, Spencer Volpp and Everett Johnson; and a nephew, Denton Johnson.

October 7, 2011Jones, Loren M. 85, of Burlington, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. He was born July 7, 1926 in Sycamore the son of Knill and Myrle (Lloyd) Jones.
He was a 1944 graduate of Burlington High School.
Loren married Patricia A. Factly on June 26, 1947 at the old St. John Lutheran Church in Burlington.
Loren was a lifelong farmer in the Burlington area. He had also been employed by the State of Illinois and later the Elgin Beverage Co. He loved being with his grandchildren and had recently moved to Reedsburg to be near them.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia; his daughter, Dana (Howard) Engel of Reedsburg, WI; grandchildren, Ryan (Jessica) Engel and Barry (Heather) Engel both of Reedsburg, WI; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Kaylee, Jase, Olivia and Lily; brother, Harold Jones; and sisters-in-law, Glenna Schairer and Romelle (Bob) Ostrom.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Lloyd Jones.

November 29, 2012REEDSBURG, Wis. � Patricia A. Jones, 83, of Reedsburg, Wis., formerly of Burlington, passed away Saturday, nov. 24, 2012, in Reedsburg.
She was born Nov. 20, 1929, in Elgin, the daughter of Henry and Dorothy (nee Laseman) Factly. Pat was a 1947 graduate of Burlington High School and married Loren M. Jones on June 26, 1947, at St. John Lutheran Church in Burlington.
Pat and Loren farmed in Burlington for many years and she worked at the State Bank of Burlington for more than 20 years. She was a longtime member of Burlington Methodist Church. In September of 2011, Pat and Loren moved to Reedsburg to be closer to their daughter and grandkids.
Pat was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and cherished her family. Surviving are her daughter, Dana (Howard) Engel of Reedsburg; grandchildren, Ryan (Jessica) Engel and Barry (Heather) Engel, both of Reedsburg; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Kaylee, Jase, Olivia and Lily; sisters, Glenna Schairer of Sycamore and Romelle (Bob) Ostrom of Burlington; and brother-in-law, Harold Jones of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren, on Oct. 4, 2011; brothers-in-law, Don Schairer and Lloyd Jones.

April 22, 2008Robert W. "Bob" Cullison, 80, of Sycamore, Ill., passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore. Born Jan. 29, 1928, in Malta, he was the son of Rudolph Jones and Allie Mae (Lloyd) Cullison. Bob married Dona Jean Sanders on May 20, 1950, at the home of Dona's parents, James and Louella Sanders, in Ashton.
Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal of Japan. He was a former truck driver for Wisdom Trucking in DeKalb and later was the owner of Robert Cullison Floor Covering.
He is survived by his wife, Dona, of Sycamore; a son, Brian Cullison of Sycamore; three brothers, Harold (Lois) Cullison of Cortland, Eldon (Janet) Cullison of Maple Park and David (Luann) Cullison of Sycamore; a sister, Virgene Christiansen of Sycamore; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Raymond Cullison; and two sisters, Olive Roland and Betty Cullison.

May 8, 2015Dona Jean Cullison, 89, Sycamore, Illinois, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Bethany Healthcare & Rehab Center, DeKalb. Born August 14, 1925, in Ashton, the daughter of James and Louella (Kuemmel) Sanders, Dona married Robert Wayne Cullison on May 20, 1950, at the home of her parents, in Ashton.
She worked as a comptroller at California Packing, Ashton Bank, Ragsdale Insurance, DeKalb Ag Research, DeKalb-Ogle Telephone, and ITT Holub, from which she retired.
Dona loved crocheting and was a great housekeeper and cook. She loved to take care of her family.
She is survived by her son, Brian, of Sycamore; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 2008.

June 13, 2018Virgene "Jean" Christensen, 86, of DeKalb, Illinois, died Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center. She was born July 7, 1931, in Genoa, Illinois, the daughter of Rudolph and Allie Mae (Lloyd) Cullison.
Jean married Robert "Chris" Christensen on March 17, 1962, in DeKalb.
Jean was employed by the DeKalb Ag celebrating 30 years in 1985, and retiring from DeKalb Swine Breeders Inc. in 1986. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and belonged to the Altar Guild, Naomi Circle, Funeral Lunch Committee and project group. Jean and Chris were involved in arts and crafts and enjoyed their friendship with the Clark family.
She is survived by her brothers, Eldon (Janet) Cullison of Maple Park and David (Luann) Cullison of Sycamore; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, step-nephew, Jordan Grubbs; and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; brothers, Robert, Harold and Raymond; and her sisters, Betty and Olive.

July 8, 2004Raymond R. "Ray" Cullison, 68, of Missoula, Mont., formerly of Clare, Ill., passed away Monday, June 21, 2004, at Hillside Manor in Missoula.
Born Sept. 2, 1935, in Genoa, he was the son of Rudolph J. and Allie Mae (Lloyd) Cullison.
Ray enlisted in the Army National Guard on March 31, 1958. He was employed as a carpenter in the DeKalb area for many years and had formerly owned and operated Cullison Trucking Co.
He is survived by four brothers, Robert (Dona) Cullison of Sycamore, Harold (Lois) Cullison of Cortland, Eldon (Janet) Cullison of Maple Park and David (Luann) Cullison of Sycamore; a sister, Virgene Christensen of Sycamore; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Olive Roland and Betty Cullison.

She was a retired artist, having worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Geodesic Survey, and Army Air Force in occupied Japan. During World War II, she served as a volunteer in the Red Cross. She was a member of the Athenian Society, DAR, Sigma Kappa sorority, South Hills Garden Club and St. John's Episcopal Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, S.C. ("Tom") Lloyd, and is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Susan L. Shrader and Arthur A. Shrader of Columbia, S.C., Nancy L. Aubuchont and John B. Aubuchont of Monroe, N.C.; one son, Thomas P. Lloyd of Roanoke, and six grandchildren.

Charles "Bud" Lloyd, 74, of Sycamore, Ill., died suddenly Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, in Harlingen, Texas.
Born Oct. 20, 1926, in Rockford, he was the son of Charles Henry and Calla (Atwood) Lloyd. He married Helen Marie Wiseman on Sept. 30, 1950, in Sycamore and later married Edith "Edie" Munn on Nov. 19, 1989, at the Federated Church in Sycamore.
Bud farmed in the Sycamore area for 26 years, worked for Seller Transportation for many years and Fidler Farms for 18 years. He had a passion to drive, especially trucks, so he operated an auto repair business in Sycamore for several years. He was an avid square danger and loved boating.
He was a member of the Charter Grove Grange.
He is survived by his wife, Edie of Sycamore; four children, Christine (Morris) Erickson of Anchorage, Alaska, Sandra (James) Fidler of Maple Park, David Lloyd of Clare and Arthur Lloyd of Sycamore; five stepchildren, Jerry (Martha Barr) Taylor, Roger (Gail) Taylor, David Taylor, Larry Taylor and Linda (Roger) Money; eight grandchildren, Vaughn, Lisa, Paul, Angela, Sarah,Amanda, Emily and Jeremy; and numerous step grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Helen; and a son, Chuckie.

July 14, 1988Helen M. Lloyd, 66, of rural Sycamore, died Wednesday, July 13, 1988 at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
She was born May 22, 1922 in DeKalb, the daughter of James and Myra (Prall) Wiseman. She married Charles "Bud" Lloyd on Sept. 30, 1950 in Sycamore.
She was a member of the Federated Church of Sycamore and the DeKalb County Home Extension.
She is survived by her husband, Bud, of Sycamore; two sons, David (Lynn) Lloyd of Sycamore, and Arthur Lloyd of Clare; two daughters, Christine (Maurice) Erikson of Alaska, and Sandra (James) Fidler of Virgil; one sister, Joyce (Bill) Poust of Colorado; an uncle, Robert Wiseman of DeKalb; an aunt, Bernice Kaelin of Indiana; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Charles II.

December 16, 1968Charles Henry Lloyd II, 15, of rural Sycamore was pronounced dead on arrival at the Sycamore Municipal Hospital Saturday, night, Dec. 14, 1968.
He was attending a Boy Scout weekend camp out at Camp Rotary McQueen and he was walking about the camp grounds Saturday evening with several Boy Scouts when he suddenly collapsed, apparently from a heart attack, and was removed to the hospital.
He was born June 11, 1953 in Sycamore, the son of Charles L. Lloyd and Helen Wiseman Lloyd.
Charles was in the Special Education Room at the Sycamore Junior High School and was a member of the Student Council. He was also a member of the Federated Church and Boy Scout Troop 16.
Surviving are his parents; two sisters, Christine and Sandra; and two brothers, David and Arthur; also his maternal grandmother, Mrs. James Wiseman of DeKalb and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Charles H. Lloyd of Rockford and several aunts and uncles.

April 30, 1997A memorial graveside service for Nathalie D. "Babe" Lloyd will be held at 2 p.m. May 30 at Vista Memorial Park, Miami, Fla.
Mrs. Lloyd, 82, of Auburndale, Fla., formerly of Oak Park and River Forest, died April 25 in the home of her daughter after a short illness.
She was born Aug. 21, 1914 in Oak Park, the daughter of George and Zena DeLap of Maywood. A graduate of Proviso High School, she attended Elmhurst and Rosary colleges. She was married to Roger S. Lloyd in 1935.
Mrs. Lloyd had recently moved to Auburndale from Lilburn, Ga. She was also formerly a resident of North Miami, Fla.
Survivors include her sons, Roger S. Lloyd Jr. of Lilburn, Ga. and Bruce Lloyd of Fort Myers, Fla., her daughter, Leslie Funk of Auburndale; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband Mrs. Lloyd was preceded in death by her brother, Jack DeLap.
